This is a cute little shop that I usually drive past. However they have some good products available with some good prices too. Worth checking out.

I bookmarked this produce shop and it was our first stop after arriving in Maui. I picked up some apple bananas and a papaya. They were so good that I wanted to go back again to pick up more fruits during our stay in Maui. What I miss most about Hawaii are the local fruit, which I didn't quite appreciate while living in the islands. We drove back today, even though it was about an hour away from our hotel. I got more apple bananas, more papayas and some dragon fruit to try. I saw a woman purchasing a bunch of the dragon fruit, so I figured they must be good, even though I've never tasted them before. We stopped at a different fruit stand while driving today, and I noticed that the prices at Rowena's were better. They also sell other items like dried spices, fresh herbs and veggies. It's worth checking them out if you're in the area. Note that there's a sign that says there's a $.25 charge when using a credit card for purchases less than $10. However, they added $.75 to use my credit card even though I spent more than $16. I found out after they ran my card.

I happened to be dropping something off at Picture It Framed the other day and noticed this store next door to it. I had no idea that there was a store here all this time, but what caught my eye was all the produce near the entrance. I popped in to see what types of products they had and was pleasantly surprised that they had a lot of fresh produce and at very very affordable prices. They had a wide variety as well from your typical cabbage, onions, carrots, to dragonfruit, rambutan, sage, lemongrass, & dill. By the entrance they had a ton of spices available like nutmeg, coriander, licorice, fennel, & cayenne just to name a few. Most bags were just $2.00. $2.00! Nice! While most of their products cater to Asian cuisine (majority are Filipino and Thai products from what I could tell), they do also have your basics like ketchup, salt, mayonnaise, etc. Rowena's is definitely worth a stop before heading to big box shops like Costco, Whole Foods, etc. You can find them across the car dealership in a big warehouse looking building. Parking is a little tight, but should be easy to find a spot.

    Packed with lots of stuff.

Very little shop. But they have lots of great fruits at good prices! This placed is well reviewed and they deserve it. My wife loves this place, she said they have great stuff to cook with. They have lots of spices too. Very fresh produces! If you are local, this is a great place to checkout. They have very cheap young coconut! $3.50. $4.50 to have it cut! :)

Good selection of vegetables and fruits

I found this little market thanks to other Yelpers... Thank you. Locally grown fruits and vegetables sold in a little shop in the business area of Kahului. Nothing fancy, but easy to find and lots of parking. The prices were good and it was a lot of selection. I can see myself stopping in here often. They also carry a lot of packaged food items imported from other countries. There is a little Coconut Café upfront which probably is busier in the mornings. Besides coffee and bagels they were also selling whole coconuts for drinking.

The fruits are pricier than going to foodland farms, so it depends whether you can find ripe fruits there or to then look at this market as an option. They have a variety of coffee beans and grounds, jams, chocolates, dried fruits and candies, etc. I bought a bunch of manoa chocolate bars there as their prices were cheaper than other grocery stores. Manoa chocolate bars are tasty and their dark chocolate single origin bars are amazing! They taste like having some alcohol flavor to it but without any alcohol flavors - this is due to the cocoa beans used was properly fermented and then processed for the natural delightful flavor of cocoa. Simple amazing!

They have pivoted hard into locally made food items versus local produce which I respect given all that Maui continues to recover from. They do have a very large inventory of candies, cookies, chocolate, spices, nuts, honey and coffee to choose from and they will ship for you which is great. Not free but it's a good service to offer. I don't like to shop at big box versus local however when the mark up is by $10 I have to go with the big W for the 100% Kona coffee as an example. Mark up a couple bucks, no problem. Ample parking including food trucks nearby so it's a busy place. Have a look and you decide. Hubby did buy a small bag of double chocolate Honolulu Cookie Company cookies which we hadn't seen elsewhere.

From Bao Buns to coconut ice cream, shortbread to finger bananas, salsa to sourdough, shave ice to mangos, they have something to tempt every palate, including a guy who cracks a mean coconut in front of you for a coconut water fix, quenchingly good on a hot day. Local vendors are also selling a great selection, from locally made bikinis to printed tees, resin chopping boards to homemade jams, jewellery to plants, traditional carvings and keiki clothing. Plus there is free parking and a band plays at the weekend too. Makes a nice morning out to buy some groceries and have a treat. Personal faves are the mushroom bao buns (small but mighty, smoky, spicy, crunchy and cool from cucumbers, sooooo moreish), anything from Coconut Glens coconut ice cream stand (with a surprise flave every day), the spicy red salsa from Love Peace Salsa, and the finger bananas from the veggie stand, oh and the finger limes if they have them too ;)

The Hub is an amazing aggregator of local produce, eggs, meat and seafood, specialty foods and value-added products, herbs, and body care items, with freshly harvested seasonal offerings every week. How it works: create an account, place your order between noon Saturday and midnight Monday, and choose your pickup or delivery option (pickups are on Thursday, Fridays, or Saturdays, depending on location). If you're trying to eat more local and sustainably grown food but farmers markets aren't meeting your needs, check out Maui Hub. Last Saturday I had a soaked through box and when I opened it the kombucha I ordered was on its side and had leaked all over everything and was half empty.
