When my daughter was a baby I had her ears pierced at an unnamed store and a few weeks later they got infected. After that happened I decided to leave it alone. Well she had been asking to get them redone and I saw that Rowan uses registered nurses to do the piercings. Everything is done professionally and they follow policies and procedures for the piercings. The pricing is very reasonable and they have nickel free jewelry, sterling silver options and 14k gold. They have a very simple to use online booking system, and our appointment was right on time even on a very busy day. Definitely a much safer way to get ear piercings. read more

Had a great experience looking for earrings for my second lobe piercings. Rio, the manager was very helpful and friendly. I wanted something spring, tiny, and with gold posts. Found a reasonable set of dragonflys/flowers. He packaged it up nicely and added a sticker and lollipop : ) I also had eyes on some beautiful rose bud earrings, set in gold vermeil. I contemplated and decided to go back to purchase, but they had sold out. They do not provide purchase at store online service. But, they did take my name and number to call me when a new shipment came in. Well not expecting much, Rio called me and left a message that they came in! Small place located in the shops of La cantera. They accept walk in's or you can make an appointment. It's $50 for the ear lobe piercing and the jewelry STARTS at $60. They use a pressure piercing device instead of a gun and if your child is 5 and older, they can use an actual needle. Rowan is known for having nurses pierce ears!! A young lady did our daughter's piercing and she was very sweet however I felt sort of rushed on my end so I gave her the go ahead to pierce and afterwards I realized the left side is so crooked. read more

Came here on a whim & have been seeing them on my insta frequently! Such a cute and very clean place. Sarah & Rebecca helped me out, I was just needing to buy a new earring for a helix piercing I've had. They have many options but I had the ladies help me out instead of trying to locate one on my own. From what I understand I don't think they sell earrings individually. Recommended here by a friend. The nurses that pierce are sweet and polite. Where my issue lies is their after piercing marketing ploy- they give a baggie and one item is a business card that says to come back in 3 weeks and they'll swap out new earrings that you purchase. As we started this process (my daughter was in pain as they were trying to reinsert the new earring) and the nurses said "you really shouldn't changeout earrings at 3 weeks if you don't have to, the longer you can keep them in the better". Very upset my daughter went through pain because we were following what their business card marketing said to do- even tho the nurses clearly said you shouldn't do it. Shame on you Rowan marketers. ** Update 11 July - Rowan has gone above and beyond to rectify our displeasure! The manager at La Cantera has been extremely helpful and thoughtful. Great place, I would recommend that if you get your child's ears pierced to stick with the straight stud type of earring, not the small hoop kind that they sell so much of here. The hoop earrings are slightly thicker and made my daughters ear eventually bleed. She has had her piercing for a whole year and it still has not healed 100%. My daughter was 3 when she woke up crying because she didn't have earrings. After explaining the process, however, she backed off... until last month. As this is a life-long piercing, I didn't want to trust it with just anyone, so was very happy to hear about Rowan and how all of their associates are certified nurses. This isn't a cheap experience, but, again, the product is a life-long body alteration, and you get what you pay for. The shop was very clean and bright and the process was smooth and safe. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and clean. We never felt rushed but were in and out pretty quickly because we had an appointment. They answered all of our questions and reassured us we can call and that they will support us through all of her healing. 100% recommend for anyone. The gun did not work, one ear had to be pierced twice causing stinging. No pain lidocaine was offered. Rowan says the workers are nurses but they didn't act like it. Then they asked for a tip and the ear spray was overpriced. Sally's sells it for half the price. The experience was not top notch so a 5 star cannot be given. read more

I went in to get my second lobe pierced. It was quick and painless. I went at noon during a weekday, it wasn't busy. I paid $120; $50 for the piercing and $60 for the studs, plus tax. It is a little pricy but you have to understand their overhead, they're in a mall, higher rent. When checking out the system does ask if you want to tip, I declined, not a big deal. Staff is friendly, no problems there. I would recommend this place to a friend. read more

For my daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time it was almost $170. One earring in each lobe. I should have known when you don't pay upfront and you pay at the end of the service that their could be a catch. It's the cost of the piercing, the jewelry, and the cleaning solution. I should have just went to a tattoo parlor. They are cleaner and everything is more sterile. Also, They don't tell you that each earring is an individual cost. Online it says for the pair of earring in the price, but in store it's for each individual earring. Not only that, the earring said they were $30 ($60 for the pair) and they tried to charge me $48 each ($96 for the pair). I immediately questioned them because everything they said wasn't adding up. They still ended up charging me more than they should have at $40 an earring ($80 for the pair). Plus they didn't even charge me for the same earring that my daughter got. read more

Me and my sister in law made appointments online for 8:00 and 8:15. Was called an hour before the appointment for them to tell us we don't know why the website let us schedule the piercings that late. Their hours say they close at 9. I asked her if we could come in now and it would take us 15 mins to get here. She said no, only if we could be there in 5 mins. Which is ridiculous. Would not recommend, total let down. I give it a few months before it closes down considering I read the previous review as well. read more

Excellent customer service and extremely professional staff. Rio, the manager, made sure my daughter had a great experience with her first ear piercing. He went above and beyond after she had bad luck with one earring getting embedded in the lobe (no fault of the establishment). Her ear was re-pierced and she was able to pick out a new set of earrings at no cost. She is in love with with her pierced ears and new earrings. It feels like this place is a bit overpriced. What I'm most upset about is the expectation of a tip on the entire price I paid. My total before tip was a whopping $260 to get mine and my daughters ears pierced. So a 15% tip on this was $39. I'm not really sure what for? If I'm expected to tip it makes more sense to me to tip on the price of the service which was $100. Not the overpriced jewelry and cleaning solution.
