First time I had one of my tats done by Absolute was about five or six years ago. My cousin knew the owners and everyone that worked there. It was very clean, the people were personable, and the atmosphere was really laid back. I brought in one of my Baby Phat shirts so that one of the guys could tat my back with the Baby Phat cat. He worked on it until he got the size that I wanted on it. I was floored at the great effort he put into the proof. He gave me suggestions on color shading and what would look good on me and gave me a couple of books on different types of fonts I could use for my name. I wanted to emulate the font that Baby Phat used as well and he just went with it. =D The next time I went to Absolute was about a year ago and the owners' wife still remembered me. Too cool, right? And even better - nothing much had changed (the atmosphere, the personalities) with the exception of the tattoo artists/piercers. I laid out exactly what I wanted to them and again, I still got really good service by the time I got seen (they really go out of their way to make sure it's how the customer wants it and not how the artist wants it which is what I love). He just made suggestions and cleared it with me BEFORE he did ANYTHING. Even though I was one of the last to be seen that night and this tat in particular was not an easy one at all... the artist was a little tired (it was about 1:00 am by the time I was seen) but he stuck with me until the job was done and made sure it was done right. P.S. If for any reason, I'm incoherent in my explanation on this review of Absolute, I apologize... I'm TIRED... but my bottom line is: this place is really cool to get tatted at! ok, so I made an appointment today with John. I wanted to have several tatts done, one arm, one shoulder/chest, and then set an appointment to start a full back pice. Well, John is pretty good IF you can get in to see him, they over booked me and then they say, "well the only time he has is August" .so now if I want my tatts done, I have to wait till august sometime NO! it doesn't work like you make an appointment for a reason. I had made this appointment what 3 weeks back. You make it you keep it. I will never go back to Absolute ever, you don't treat your customer's that way. I had 2 Tatts done there and they need a little touch up, you know a little fading just to bring up the color again, come to find out that now he charges to touch up his own work. Just called the shop to find out if the artist who did my tattoo was still there and to see about getting my ink touched up. It faded pretty badly. The original tattoo is a steam punk flying pig. It took about 4.5 hours per my last review. I was told that I'd have to come on so they could price it. This after telling them that I live in nashville and will only be in the area for a couple days. Price it?? Really ?? Stay classy. If I'm going to pay to have it done, I'll have an artist at home that I trust do it. A good artist will stand behind their work and make sure it looks good. I went to go get my septum pierced at this place, the service was great, only waited 10 minutes to get my piercing. Although the girl doing my piercing did not seem very confident and seemed rushed. She did not communicate to me at all when she was going to start or communicate at all in general. Once the needle was in she was struggling to get the actual septum ring in. She then took the needle out and gave me a break. She then tried to pierce the same spot again and still could not get the jewelry in. I'm not sure what went wrong but it was not painless. I got an amazing tattoo here. It was my first tattoo and Feo did an amazing job. The customer service was great and they were all very friendly. Getting my tattoo was a great experience and I would definitely go back for more. I also got my cartilage pierced and overall it was a traumatic and completely different ordeal. I was unable to pick out the jewelry I wanted and she ended up having to pierce it three different times because there was so much blood. My wife got ripped off last night, getting a tattoo here. Unfinished and unprofessioal job. My wife brought a picture of what she wanted. They said they could do it. It wasn't difficult. The artist didn't even make a stencil of the complete tattoo, and just stenciled a cross and three flowers my wife wanted. The cross was just outlined in black with no color or shading, and the flowers were poorly done. There was suppose to be a green vine wrapping around the cross, and it was nowhere to be found. The flowers represented our three children, one of which, was lost in miscarriage, and they knew this, so it was even more disappointing. I will have to take her somewhere else to get it fixed and finished. And, if you decide to go ahead and use them, DO NOT LET MARK DO THE WORK!!! Enter at your own risk.
