I have used this company now two times - the first experience was a positive one. Rented a party bus for a trip down to Atlantic City with some friends and the driver was on time and everything went smoothly. The second time, I had a sprinter van booked for 12 people to take to PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ for a concert. I booked it for a 4:15 pickup 6 months in advance. I get a call at 3 oclock saying the driver is going to be late, but not told how late. They finally let me know that it will be around 4:45, which is 30 minutes after we were supposed to leave in a time sensitive situation. I calmly asked to speak with the owner to see if there is anything he can do to help with the situation. Boy, that was a mistake. Oscar was unapologetic, combative and rude. He didn't apologize once and kept saying "traffic happens, what can I do" "it's out of my control". You run a car company - traffic should be something that comes into consideration on a daily basis. If someone is in a situation like this, maybe have a backup plan or have another driver on staff to come get us much closer to the time. He also refused to give me a discount on the almost $1000 ride. Not even $50. That is not how you treat a customer at the end of the day. ON TOP OF THIS - As 4:45 comes around, then 4:50 - I called the office probably 10 times to ask where the driver was and no one answered! The van finally showed up at 5 PM, 45 minutes after we were supposed to leave. The only reason this is 2 stars is bc the driver himself was great. KJ did everything he could to get us down there and make up the time that we were late. Very pleasant and also on the way home, showed up 20 minutes earlier than our departure time to be extra sure we were on time. Overall, I won't be booking with this company again. Being 45 minutes late and being pretty much unapologetic is bananas behavior from any company, let alone a company that is in charge of transportation. read more

STAY AWAY!! COMPLETE RIP OFF!! Hired 5 months in advance for our wedding. Driver was approximately 30 minutes late for pickup causing additional fees to be charged by our venue and officiant. Photographers were unable to capture all pictures at the park with family. Interior lights and audio did not work in the sprinter. Contract states RED CARPET and Champagne which we were told would be done at the park, however, was never even offered. WHY should we have to ask for something that is in the contract. Blames traffic for the delay, maybe they should use WAVS which is a FREE Service to see if there is traffic or any issues to plan an on-time arrival for said contract. Absolutely horrible customer service. The driver got lost getting us to our location hens putting us over our contracted time. When it came to overtime the driver called the manager to find out if he should drive us or make us step out of the limo and leave us five montes from our venue. The manager wanted money on the spot (no problem, we were willing to pay) but it was most embarrassing to have money pulled out in front of the bridal party. They charges us overtime for the 20 minutes on the phone to figure out what to do, making us late for the wedding. We could've been taken to the venue and had this sorted out in private without the bridal party as witness and on time. But the company wants to make a fool of themselves. They are not about the experience. And the treads on the tires are beyond worn, they do not maintain their fleet. Avoid. read more

Rented two cars Saturday, June 25, 2022. One was suppose to be a Rools Royce and the second a 10 passenger Lexus limo. Got a call the day before that the Rolls Royce had no A/C, but they had a car called the Excalibur and the A/C was working. Well low and behold Saturday, June 25th Excalibur had no A/C and the limo had no A/C, in 95 degree weather. We took Route 22 to court won the judgement and now they are trying not to pay. I'm not sure about the other reviews, but this company was nothing short of amazing!! I rented a party bus for my birthday trip in New York. I read the reviews, but I still booked, and I am so glad I did!! Booking was easy!! The best prices by far!! The young lady on the phone answered all my questions and was very pleasant. Our driver Kevin was EARLY!! He patiently waited for us at each stop, and was very professional. The bus was exactly as pictured online. Great condition. It came stocked with water, cups, and ice. DO NOT use this joke of a company. Worst experience ever. Our group of 12 secured a fantastic rate to the airport for a 3am pickup 2 months in advanced. We confirmed several times with the company that this was correct and signed the contract and everything. At 8pm the night before our flight, we get a call from the secretary saying there was a mistake and now our rate must be DOUBLED in price. Why were they just realizing this mistake now when we had confirmed several times before?? Unbelievable--we ask for the owner to be put on the phone. This was the worst part, Oscar Casas, the owner, refused to budge or work with us at all on the price because of THEIR mistake. He was rude, unprofessional and cursed us out for not falling for this scam. He thought we would have no choice but to roll over and take the higher price--because of the last minute circumstances and our huge group. To top it all off, he refused to pick us up at all and told us he's "not in this business to lose money". Sounds like he's not in this business at all, since the customer experience and satisfaction should come first. We were left scrambling to find other accommodations. Around 11pm the bus broke down in the middle of Time Square. But hey, if I'm gonna be stranded somewhere I'd rather be in the middle of the city and not on the side of the highway. Around 1am our bus was back up running again. But not for long. 1 mile down the road, the bus broke down again! Our patience had run out. The driver talked on the phone for a long time to his boss? A mechanic? who knows, but he had no plans to get my 35+ family members back home to NJ. At this point, it was 2am, we had family members over 80 with us who were tired and hungry. After a dramatic confrontation with the driver, we got our money back and called 8 EIGHT, OCHO XL UBERS costing $120 EACH. To transport us back home. Because if not who knows when we would've gotten home. As for the driver and his boss, TERRIBLE business people. Even the NYPD agreed that they couldn't leave us stranded. After waiting for weeks to get my quote and calling almost every other day, I should have expected that the trip would be just as bad. The driver to my location was no help with using the music system and let us figure it out. The return trip was the worst as the driver was late, complained all the way saying that there was never a driver scheduled for my trip, the office is the worst, that he was doing the company a favor because they were friends but the pay is bad, and that thanks to him we were able to get home. Mind you my trip was planned months in advance. I told the driver, left messages with an executive, wrote it on his receipt, and told Liz in the office that I was dissatisfied and wanted a manager to call me. Still nothing. I booked a 10 person stretched limo for my bachelor party on Saturday October 4th for 5:30pm with Route 22 Limousine. The limo was late an hr and arrived just after 6:30pm, this screwed up my plans as I had dinner reservations in NYC at 7PM and wanted to leave early enough to not rush things. The front desk's excuse? "The weather became really nice and more weddings were used for the limo, therefore it was running late" How in the world is this my problem when I booked this limo for 5:30pm a week in advance? When the limo finally arrived he was apologetic but not helpful. He had addresses to every stop yet throughout the ride kept asking me and my friends/groomsmen for directions. This was very frustrating because we couldn't just enjoy the ride and each others company. When we got to our first destination over a half hour late he stopped me to sign some sort of contract agreement. I told him I wouldn't sign a damn thing. He kept me there 10 mins trying to get me to sign it.......unbelievable! I didn't end up signing it and I was only more late because of it. Our next destination was 30 mins away and to no fault of the limo driver we were late again due to traffic in Times Square, completely understandable. But again, as I got out the limo he tried to get me to sign something and copy my credit card information. I was on the clock with my next destination and he once again added more time to me being late. Why couldn't all this signing be done at the end of the night? If he had got there on time I would have had more than enough time to sign anything he wanted me to and cooperate. But the limo was late, and continued to make me more late for my planned events. The limo company told me they would not do any refunds of any kind. So since they still owed me an hour I had them drop one of my groomsmen off to his house 30 minutes away. Technically they still owe me for 30 minutes time. I know they are getting outstanding reviews here but they dropped the ball with me big time. Let me start this review off by saying DO NOT use this company. Listen to the terrible reviews that are on yelp and google and don't try and and give them a chance. They have low prices which is why, of course, I decided to go against the reviews and take a chance hoping that others were exaggerating. However, they were far from exaggerations and I got stuck in a two week battle with this company. Please read this entire review so you DO NOT get stuck having a similar problem with this scamming company. On May 16th I booked 2 cars with Route 22 Limousine for my wedding; a Chrysler 300 stretch and an Excalibur. The booking process with Danny went smooth and it seemed as though I no longer had to worry about the limos for my wedding. However, the very next day I received a phone call from Danny asking to call him back as there was a problem with the stretch that I booked. Calling him back, immediately, I proceeded to tell me that someone already booked the limo and he wasn't made aware (not sure how, but that was his excuse). He told me he spoke with the owner who had a GREAT replacement vehicle for me for NO extra charge. Although i was upset, I was ready to see what this replacement would be. A Mercedes sprinter van. Yup, a van. If you don't know what this van looks like, please take a brief pause and go check it out. Of course, I was upset that they tried to replace a beautiful limousine with a van. After explaining that nothing else was available for me, I asked for a FULL refund on both deposits that I'd already paid (1 deposit for each car). He continued to talk about the van saying it's a great choice and eventually said someone would call me back about the refund. The next day, a woman called and said she put the refund through late the night before, however, one didn't go through right away. So, I'd be receiving one refund before the other - by Monday and Tuesday the LATEST. The weekend passed, Monday and Tuesday came by so quickly and Wednesday I decided to call them after not receiving one of the two refunds. Danny picked up the phone and said to me that he would be me on a brief hold to find out what happened. After a couple of minutes, I was hung up on. I called back immediately, getting Danny on the phone again and he said he would still find out. I explained that I wanted to speak to someone else and asked him to transfer me. He told me he COULD NOT transfer me to anyone as his phone doesn't allow it. However, he's already transferred me in the past so I know this was a lie. I was told I'd receive a phone call in just a few minutes. I, of course, didn't receive a phone call. So I continued to call getting Danny on the phone each time. Dialing every extension, I continued to reach Danny every time. Conveniently for him, the Owners voicemail was full. This back and forth game of hang ups, being placed on hold and being told I would receive a call back lasted for TWO WEEKS! I finally was able to speak to someone else who said she called the credit card company they work with and asked them to put it through again and that I would receive my refund by Tuesday, May 18th. Of course, I did not. The next day I called back and for the first time in two weeks, the owner, Oscar answered the phone. I explained to him what was going on (which he states he had no clue was going on) he checked out what was wrong with my refund where he told me the reservation number was entered multiple times, causing the refund to not match an account. Obviously, this was done on purpose. He assured me he would speak to his staff (and the call center that Danny works for). I finally received my refund the next day on May 20th. This is the WORST customer service and company I have EVER dealt with. I'm not one for reviews, however, in this case I feel it's important that people know what they're dealing with. Literally the worst customer service and experience I've ever had, after speaking with Vanessa. Booked a limo for our wedding in April. The limo arrived on our wedding day with a huge crack down the side of the limo window and the radio didn't work (for a 1.5 hour ride with our entire wedding party). For one day of service this cost about $1000. After 4 phone calls - 3 leaving messages, with no return call from management - finally someone from management answered on the 4th pick-up. I was told I would not receive any compensation and there was "nothing" she could do. Only 10% off on another rental. Why would I ever rent from there again? She said every car is inspected when leaving the lot, inferring that the window and radio broke themselves on their way to my wife's parents house. She said we had plenty of time to call and get another limo. Clearly Vanessa has never gone through her own wedding, or she would understand that adjusting schedules and waiting for some other car to come (who knows what driver would be bringing another car) is impossible. But hey, they inspected it before it left, right? After my wedding, I made a point to review every single vendor we used - at least 10. So I didn't go out of my way to review this one poorly. It was simply a terrible experience, and I implore anyone I know to not get your limo from this place. Shoutout to Vanessa, who lied and refused to let me speak to her supervisor. She said she spoke to him and this offer of 10% was all she could give me. Then when I asked to speak to him, she said no. Then when she finally said she would leave a message for him to call me back, I asked when (since no one has called me back from this place yet). Hired a towncar to take us from Ironbound area of Newark to the cruise pier in Bayonne, NJ. In light traffic it's about a 30 minute drive. Our driver showed up early to take us to the pier. When we returned after an 11 day cruise, the driver showed up when promised. Very nice driver. read more

I was shook down by the bus driver and had $400+ dollars charged on my card after we had paid in full. Party bus driver was late to pick us up. I was best man. After the church, before going to the reception, I hopped on the bus to tip the driver. After tipping him, the driver told me he was over time and going to leave. He said he needed a form of payment for possible over time or he would leave us all. (yes, leave the wedding party at the church) I gave him my debit card to JUST NOT LEAVE THE WEDDING PARTY. I did whatever I could to avoid that situation. In hindsight, giving your CC to someone without seeing charges is dumb. I filled out a blank carbon copy paper and he scratched my cc number onto it. The groom told the driver, don't charge the card, I will cover any extra expenses. Regardless, the company charged me $417 extra. I called asked why I was charged, they told me I CALLED IN AND APPROVED THE CHARGES. Someone pretended to be me to approve them. All lies. The driver took my CC number, called in the approval and charged us $400+ on top of all the regular fees after being late to pick us up. They took advantage of the fact that I would do ANYTHING to not let my brother's special day be ruined. The manager Oscar would not hear any of this. I had to do a chargeback to get the money. Honestly, beware of this company. Their drivers are scum that shake you down at the worst time (in the middle of a wedding) and the manager is just as bad. Won't hear any of it. Won't check GPS times, won't look at phone logs, etc. Use Uber or any other company you can find. Don't let this group of shady people ruin your special day. There are endless other options. I used this limo to treat myself to an evening of NO driving and stress free! Anything but stress free - the drive did not know her way around NYC, did not know how to use a GPS and even had a hard time following directions we told her. She got lost in Manhattan and drove around for 2 extra hours - causing us to miss our dinner reservation and barely making it to our show. When I spoke to the office - 4 days later - they took no responsibility for the incompetence of the drive and blamed it all on NYC traffic!!! Similar to other customers- we had a really unfortunate experience using this company. We had reserved a fabulous party bus to take a large group to and from a concert. To make a long story short- They gave away the bus we reserved (a month in advance) to another party and could not have been more rude about it. It was a classic bait and switch. When I talked to the manager (25 minutes before pick up time)- he made zero apologies and told us we had 2 choices- take what ever they send or cancel the reservation. I am really shocked a company can stay in business with that type of customer service. Hope no one else has to experience that stress when coordinating for a large group. There was a thousand better ways they could have handled messing up a reservation. I should say that the sales rep and driver were very nice. Used this company for a wedding and had a terrible experience. First off, when they arrived at the location to pick up the bride the party bus was warmer than the sun. The AC did not work at all. Driver kept arguing with us saying it did but it never did. Driver drove rough and I had someone inside the bus having a heat stroke. Just for reference this was inside bus #725. When going to take pictures after my ceremony I told the driver to drop us off at the original location because everyone was sweating inside the bus. Actively avoid booking with this business. The unit's decor was very nice, however, upon arrival the door to the bus broke, trapping one of the guests inside for nearly an hour. The driver requested we supply him a hair dryer and screwdriver, as well as power in sub-freezing temperatures as he attempted to pry the door open. We then spoke to a man named Oscar on the phone, claiming to be the owner who proceeded to curse at myself, my mother, and the host of party as we tried desperately to get them to send us a replacement bus and at the very least secure a refund of the nearly 700 dollars spent on unit. Obviously, tempers ran high on our part as time past, missing plans that cost us additional hundreds of dollars. Oscar being the professional manager he is, told us we were out of luck and that the company was not liable for the mechanical failure of the bus. When the issue of refunds came up, he told us "in your dreams" and when we threatened a lawsuit he laughed saying "that's what insurance is for". Eventually, we had to call the cops to get an official police report of the incident for the future legal proceedings and to finally get our friend out of the bus. At the end of the night we had been cursed at by the manager, missed all of our plans, were out nearly $1000, and a 25th birthday surprise was completely ruined. I believe in second chances but I implore anyone considering booking with this company to think again. They provide no customer service, no contingency plans, and do not concern themselves with how their service or lack thereof can affect their customers. It is actually very surprising that in such a saturated market, they would care so little about customer service. Horrible customer service, the limo driver was late picking the bridal party at the hotel and refused to bring us to our reception location until we paid him in cash. This driver also stopped in front of an ATM and was very adamant about getting his money before he loved the vehicle. Not to mention the managers on the other hand are no help. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECCOMMEND ROUTE 22 LIMO...we had a live wire in the vehicle, no ac, and the tail light caught on fire (30 Passenger Escalade)...they did not care because it still got us to point a,b, and c on time. Oh, and they also told me i was discriminating because I said the driver did not speak well and couldn't drive the vehicle. Every single turn he took he had to back up and turn...back up and turn. Their excuse was it was a large vehicle. Tractor trailers and buses are much larger than this truck and can make tighter turns in one shot. But No Rolls Royce, I had a great gatsby themed shoot set with my photographer, so that really changed the entire vibe of my wedding. they said the alternator went than the girl in the office said there was a screw loose or something, not really sure. Waiting for a call back from "management" for a few days now, have a few friends getting married asking for transportation info, I directed them all to santos limo, a little pricier but guaranteed excellent service. My name is Jason Davis and the purpose of this correspondence is to express my dissatisfaction with the unprofessional service I experienced with your company. My reservation number was 162986. I booked my reservation one-month prior, 1/17/2017, and spoke with Liz. I supplied all the necessary information as well as the location of pick up. I expressed to Liz that I had reservations after my pick up, for this was my fiancés anniversary. After speaking with Liz on 1/17, I called a week before my reservation, 2/11, and the day before, 2/17. I called three times because I was apprehensive about this company and extremely worried about the driver being late to pick us up. This past Saturday was my reservation day and my worst fears were confirmed. Ten minutes prior to my pick up time, 5pm, I called Liz to inquire as to why I hadn't heard from the driver. Liz assured me that the driver was on the way and would not be late. Ten minutes after the scheduled pick up time the driver was still not at the location. I called Liz only to hear that the driver was on his way even though he was already late. I paid for a pick up time of five and furthermore, at this time I had yet to hear from the driver and find out his exact location. Time continued to pass and the driver still wasn't at the location. At 5:15pm I called Liz again and informed her the driver was not still at my location. She stated that she can see the driver is in the area, but he was still not at my location. At about 5:20pm, the driver passed right by my location. I informed Liz of the driver passing me and she called him. Ten more minutes passed before the driver finally arrived at my location. Again, I paid for a 5pm pick up, not 5:30pm. Needless to say my fiancé and I were late for our reservation and we had to dine at a table in the general area. The unfortunate part is that I paid for a pick up time, called numerous times before to express my concern, and the driver was still late. When asked if I would be compensated Liz told me I could keep the limo out past my scheduled end time, but that's not the point. I should be compensated monetarily. This may not go anywhere, but this is an extremely unprofessional representation of your company. My night was ruined because of this company's unprofessionalism. read more

Absolutely horrible!! I was so excited to use them at first, but would have rather paid more to get better service. The day of my wedding, we had 2 limos- 1 for me and one for the groom. BOTH limos had a broken air conditioner. Before walking into church, my mascara was running because I was sweating. The $300 I paid for my makeup was ruined!! The driver was rude...the owner was rude to my husband, sister and father. It sounds so pathetic, but the limo ride ruined my night...because I was now sweating, my makeup was ruined, which in turn made my face look shiney for pictures. Horrible service! Never will rent from there again. Limo bus was down the block for 40min about 20 houses away parked for no reason. I had to go outside walk down the block and tell the limo guy to pick us up in front of my house. We were extremely late to the church because of this. Then charged me $65 dollars for extra time needed. I spoke to the receptionist and she said that since the gps showed it was on my street, again 20 house away that it meant he arrived on time. if you value your event, you will NOT use this company. Please think twice and book with another vendor. This company called me (the bride) at 10pm the day before my wedding trying to change our contract. Claiming that the Rolls Royce we booked would take too long to drive from my home to the church where i was getting married. This is a 20 minute drive at the most. I told them to speak to my (now) husband and he promptly told them no, it would not be changed and however long it takes to get there that would be fine. Our ceremony was 3pm. At 2:15 the day of the wedding they called my husband to tell him they would not be sending the Rolls Royce, but the Excalibur (ever seen Cruela De Vil's car?) and it was on it's way. Their excuse was - "The Rolls Royce is overheating and smoking, its in the shop." He was furious but there was nothing we could do at this point. My 6'4 father could barely fit in the car, and I was pretty crushed that they changed our contract without our permission. Upon driving, the car broke down not one but TWO times. I was more than half an hour late to my ceremony. It was awful. They couldn't turn the air conditioning on in fear the car would break down for a third time. Think melted makeup. I arrived to the church in tears. After the ceremony all of a sudden the "smoking and overheating" Rolls Royce shows up LOOKING JUST FINE. No smoke, no steam... just a Rolls ready to go. So now I have not only one but two vintage cars. WTF? Better late than never does NOT apply to this situation. I didnt want to ride in another car from them, but I bit my tounge and got in. The driver could not get the windows to work, there was no air flow in the car at all .. and did I mention it was an 85 degree June day? I quickly go out, and piled into our limo instead with the bridal party. At least it had AC. Driving to the reception was fun as well... the limo driver pulled over two times because his boss and owner of this "company" told him to pull out the bride and groom and put them in the Rolls Royce so he didn't have to refund our money. Needless to say, my husband grabbed the phone, cursed out the owner, and told the limo driver to drive us where we were supposed to go, the reception. We finally got there and the annoyed limo driver sped away from our venue. I actually felt bad for the two drivers because their boss is such a jerk that he told them that they "ruined their wedding day" and they werent getting paid. That was not the case at all. 1) i wasn't going to let this ruin our day and 2) the only one to blame is the idiot owner. The two drivers even said, in their own words, that their boss "DOES THIS ALL THE TIME TO CLIENTS." If thats not enough for you to pick another vendor then i dont know what is!! The best part about all this was, my videographer taped every second of it! I'm sure it will be funny one day. But he also pointed out that there is video proof in case this company wouldn't refund us. We demanded our money back for just the vintage car, it took a while for these idiots to agree to refund it. At least we're getting our money back, but I will never get to ride to the church with my father on my wedding day again. DON'T PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS NIGHTMARE. read more

We used Rt. 22 Limo for my best friend's birthday. We were supposed to be picked up at 8:30 PM and the driver called me at 8:10 telling me he was just leaving from picking the limo up (and we are 1 hr. 15 min away!). Needless to say I was very disappointed! To make matters worse, he got lost on the way to the club we were going to. And when I called to speak with the office to see if they would credit me, the representative was extremely rude and told me there was no way he would give me any money back. Won't ever use them again and put that information on my face book page. Driver didn't even know where the front of the synagogue was to pick us up. Seat belts didn't work, AC was awful when it did, mostly blowing warm air. Driver got lost taking us to the party and we were among the last guests to arrive and it was my grandson's party. Office was rude when they had to listen to all the complaints, too numerous to mention here, and made excuses for everything. Even when they booked they had all the information wrong as to pick up and return and we had to make sure to correct it before the event. read more
