The park has two different play areas: one for little kids and one for older kids. In the little kid area, there are fun swings to swing your baby and swing yourself at the same time. There is a small play structure with two different slides. On the big kid side, the slides are huge! There are also innovative swings that seat three people. There is a climbing structure and a balance beam. There is a large seating area with tons of shade. A single bathroom is also on the property. Next to the park is a large field, big enough to play fetch with your dog. Huge upgrade and a great place to take your kid.

Earlier in the year I visited Lake Canyon Park which is just a short distance from Canyon Creek Park. While at the park I found out that the two parks are connected by a scenic trail. This sounded very intriguing, so naturally I had to check it out. Canyon Creek Park was everything that I had imagined and more ! The park was quite large and very well maintained. It has an play area for older children as well as for younger children. Both play areas have swings, slides, and climbing structures . Wisteria vines covering the picnic area provided plenty of shade. Other amenities that the park had to offer was one/half basketball court, restroom, and a scenic walking/biking trail that will take you to another park just a short distance away "Lake Canyon Park." My hubby referees for the Sacramento Youth Football (SYF) during the season and our first game took us to the city of Galt. The game between the junior teams, Liberty Ranch Hawks and Christian Brothers Falcons, were held in the football field of this park. The park is very clean and well kept. The grass is artificial turf and they have a sign placed on rules that are not allowed on the turf: No food of any kind No drinks (except water) No gum or candy No smoking No sunflower seeds No dogs or pets No sharp objects (lawn chairs tent stakes, spikes, or poles that may penetrate) Adjacent to the football field is another area of the park where there's a soccer field and a couple children's playground equipment structures (one for small children and the other for older kids). There's also a picnic area as I saw a couple of BBQ pits. For the most part we were only at the football field but the park is very well maintained with a restroom facility and spacious parking lot. We have had two parties there so far. Even with a party going on, there is still room for others to enjoy the park. Truely a hidden gem in Galt.

It is open 7 days a week from 6am - Dusk. The park is fully gated with 24 hours surveillance cameras. Here you can practice and fine tune all your boarding tricks on their ramps, rails, steps, ect... There is also a shaded picnic area with one picnic table for those whom need to take a break ! Free to use all the amenities the park has to offer. Just a heads-up, there are no restrooms here. Got my helmet on with all the padding ! Let's do this !

The children play area is quite small, only consisting of a climbing structure and swing set. The park has a few picnic tables, but no shaded structures or BBQ's. It also has a large parking lot, restroom, 3 softball diamonds and 4 Soccer field (Seasonal). With the main emphasis of this park being softball and soccer, I would consider this to be more of a sports complex rather than a park. The softball area is well maintained and offers bench seating for spectators ! I would not make a special trip to visit this park . But if you happen to be in the area, just remember there are only a few shade trees here. So make sure you bring your sun screen, an umbrella for shade and plenty of water !
