I dropped in on New Year's Eve-- a very busy night for these guys-- thinking I could get a pizza by the slice. They don't do that here and it was obvious that the kitchen staff was 'all hands on deck' to get the conga-line of pick up orders out the door. The manager/owner stepped up and offered to personally make me a small pizza so I didn't have to wait. He even gave me special pricing since I had only come in for a slice. While I waited, I watched him weave around the kitchen staff like a choreographed ballet to get my walk-in order into my hands in under ten minutes. He's the owner for good reason-- my off-menu personal pizza was delicious and perfectly made! It's easy to discount big chain names like Round Table, but the Sutton Way franchise has the culture and heart of a mom-n-pop pie shop. Good food. Great service! One of my sons loves the pizza at this place above all others in Grass Valley. It is very popular with children. Having given the place its due, I must say that I hate Round Table pizza, and the ambiance here is my idea of hell. Had my sons 2nd birthday here on 5/17/14 at 2pm. Called a couple weeks ahead of time to make a reservation and the lady I spoke with was very friendly. Arrived 30 minutes early to set up and they already had the room ready! They said we had the room for 2 hours, we ended up staying 30 minutes past our end time and they didn't have any problems with it. The pizza was pretty decent too. Went in one time awhile ago and had lunch and we asked if they would deliver to Penn Valley and they said sure, well now we call them and are told that they will only deliver for $100+ order! Pizza is always a favorite after a day of snowboarding. I stopped by this Round Table to make an attempt to have dinner wih my friend that lives in the area, but it was a no show. Although, his nephew spotted me and my friends. Lucky for us, he worked in the plaza, so we got a discount for our meal. There were seven us us, so we ordered two larges and one small pizza. One was pepperoni and mushroom, the other one was the Maui Zaui, and the last one was the chicken & garlic gourmet; all with the skinny crust. The skinny crust is great, with the end of the crust having a crispy bite as each slice is being finished. I had five slices without feeling over-stuffed. The pizzas are good, but a little expensive for a chain restaurant if we didn't have the discount. Had online ordering issues . Was told by a manager she would remake my pizza and have it out on the next delivery.. it was small lemon chicken pizza. I was really thankful because my whole house is sick and potentially covid positive and we didn't have the energy to cook. We waited for the new pizza and the delivery driver refused the NO contact delivery she wouldn't give me my pizza unless we returned the old one that wasn't made correctly! I tried to explain we were are very sick and that I didn't feel comfortable returning a pizza we had contact with back to the store or to anyone. I wasn't told to do so by the manager and didn't understand why the delivery driver refused to give us our food. So I called the store and was told a supervisor would contact me I have no pizza and I am out almost 17 dollars. The behavior of the delivery driver was unprofessional and when I told her we could have covid she could care less no mask and demands I return a pizza back to the store! This would have caused cross contamination. It would be nice to speak to an actual adult or store manager not a bunch of kids with attitude! I want a refund. read more

it's almost like round table pizza doesn't want party's there. I've called 3 times to try and book something. First time was around 10am told to call back between 2-4 2nd time 5pm because life happens and I spaced calling I was told to call back the next day at 2-4pm Today called at 2:10pm and told to call back in 15 minutes because the one person who is able to take reservations was on break. This place deserves a more recent review... Pizza is great! Prices are a little high, but the quality definately great. Always have friendly staff and the manager ACTUALLY gave my wife 3 bucks because they accidentally had one of the pizza slices flip upside down when they put it in the box! If that isnt standing behind the quality of your product, I dont know what is! Salad bar is decent and tables are well kept and clean. Only issue I had was when I came in on a particularly hot day, the area at the front of the store (where the ovens are) was considerably hot. The only place to get away from that heat was at the back of the store... You can imagine, that area was already occupied... That's the only reason why I dont give it five stars. In fact there were little bits of other items I did not order all over the pizza, like they scraped off items from another pizza threw some olives on top and the sent it out. This place is the best! We are new to Northern California. My husband remembers going to round table after playing baseball when he was younger, so we decided try it. It was really good pizza and even better service and staff. They were so friendly and you feel right at home there. Everything was clean and the salad bar was fresh and great quality. We were even given free garlic cheese bread one time because a customer over ordered and they were thoughtful enough to let my little family have it. It's our go to pizza place for sure and we'll be back anytime we have an itch for some pizza. read more

This last Saturday I tried it again and it was filled with 3 times the amount of onions and I could barely taste anything else. What happened to Round Table Pizza! The price is still outrageously high but the quality has tanked. The last honest pizza? The thin crust was soggy with WAY too much sauce, the toppings were sparse and the flavor was no where close to what was the reason I could justify paying so much more for a pizza. My husband and I have been getting Round Table every Saturday for the last 3 years,so we know a good pizza! We moved to the area from the Bay Area and were not disappointed with this restaurant! We don't live close to this location anymore, but the drive is worth it! Their garlic twists are big and fluffy and perfect (especially compared the LOP location, who doesn't know a garlic twist from a shoe),pizza is perfect, and the staff is always friendly, especially Allison! Today I went to order a pizza and Megan helped me out. I ran to the store while I waited for it to bake. As soon as I walked back in Megan flagged me down and very apologetically explained how she over charged me because the pizza I ordered was on special that night. The last few times I purchased pizza here the crust was doughy, not cook all the way through. The garlic twists were also doughy. The employees are very nice and helpful but I think they are trying to speed things up and not taking enough time to cook the pizza and twists properly. Came in for a quick order of boneless wings and had to wait about 15 minutes because they were still super frozen and had to be cooked twice according to the staff. Stopped in with the wife and her cousin last night for pizza, salad and bread twists. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza well done / burn it; but it was barely cooked...... let it sit on the tray to cool down. Picked up a piece and all the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni fell off onto my plate..... then had to eat with a fork. Pizza was terrible but bread twists were really good and crispy. I have been here many times...the pizza is on the pricy side...but it is good pizza...And the place is very clean. I like the skinny crust option and sometimes I just crave a basic salad...otherwise we go to the northridge they also have really good pizza. Sometimes it is just nice to go where the kids can run around. I have never had a problem with the staff. Windy, rainy day so I thought "pizza sounds good." I used to enjoy Round Table pizzas, so I phoned in an order for a medium supreme. When I got it home, I slid it onto a plate cause I hate the cardboard taste of pizza-to-go boxes. Sampled a piece--how disappointing to find the dough was completely raw !...not just soggy from toppings, but way under-cooked. The crust on the edge was edible, but the rest went into the trash...an expensive waste. The parmesan garlic twists were tasty, but stone cold when I picked them up. Won't be returning. read more

I have not been here in a while, but it used to be pretty good. I ordered an extra large 3 topping pizza. It took 25 minuets to get and then was made with only one of the three toppings. The employee then decided it would be ok to just heat the other 2 toppings in a pan and throw them on top. I said make it right or refund my $36 for the pizza. The employee decided to make the pizza correctly, but then was very angry about having to remake the pizza. If they had been making any other pizzas at all I could understand any of this, but they had no other orders. If your going to charge a premium for pizza then do a premium job. After being a patron at THIS particular Round Table for many years, I can sum up an experience in one phrase: "How the Mighty have fallen" This Round Table Pizza USED to put out excellent product; the food tasted fresh, well cooked, and was worth the amount of money being shelled out. Now however, is a COMPLETELY different story. The food is usually scant on the toppings, most of the time it TASTES like it's been sitting in a freezer for days, and the service is awful. I'm a little bit of a picky customer, so sometimes when I order pizza from this establishment I will forgive and forget a mistake or two, but recently I took the time to calculate my ratio of correct orders: literally only 1 out of 10 orders I received were correct - AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT CRAZY REQUESTS. I would receive pizza's with little to no sauce, missing toppings, incorrect toppings...etc. Knowing that I had the order read back to me over the phone, and it being correct at that time the only explanation for problems is incompetence and neglect. No Bueno. Beyond the product being the now blush-worthy prices, the service is, for lack of a better word, sub-par. When it's slow, you are their King, and they are ready to serve. But catch them on a moderately busy night and you will begin to notice employees who are much busier messing around than actually working to keep their wait times lower. Having worked many years in the food service industry, I was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt. But beyond having a WIDER VARIETY of toppings, this place will leave you scowling at your pizza and wallet, wondering how one thing lead to another. Lamppost has my service now. At this Round Table, apparently if you do not want a pizza that doesn't have black burnt edges you have to request that the pizza be undercooked to eliminate the black, burned edges. When I took my burned pizza back to the order counter and requested to order a new pizza that wasn't burned please, she asked, "burned?" and walked away. Later she came by my table and told me, if I don't want black burnt edges on my pizza, I need to order it undercooked when I order it, seriously, she said that. Ok we've gotten decent pizzas here before however we recently had a pizza with chicken on it and it literally had four pieces of chicken through out the entire pizza yes four!!! it's like they may as well have just left the chicken off ! there was bacon on the pizza as well which was also EXTREMELY stingy portion wise, hardly any! I never understand why employees will be stingy with ingredients when working for these big chains. Like what's It to Ya? It was one of the most embarrassing pizzas I've ever been served. for them to be be Putting out products that come out like that is truly bad PR. My poor father who is a senior citizen felt bad because he said that they opened the box for him to check and he wanted to say something but didn't want to make a scene. So I felt compelled to write a review so other people don't have to be disappointed.
