Round Table on Dale Evans used to be my favorite place, but after my experience on 10/14/2025, we won't be ordering from this location again. While eating my pizza, I bit into something that stretched and snapped. A clear elastic hair band fell onto my lip -- with red sauce baked onto it and positioned between the crust and cheese, proving it was baked inside the pizza. I had already swallowed part of the bite before realizing what it was. When I showed it to the manager, she immediately dismissed it and said, "Oh no, if it was ours, it would have melted. That's not possible. Our ovens are super hot." But clear elastics don't melt at those temperatures, especially covered in sauce and cheese. The band was intact and obviously baked in. I didn't ask for a refund; I just wanted them to be aware. The denial and lack of food safety concern were the most disappointing parts. I also contacted corporate with photos and details and never received a response. I've been eating Round Table pizza for 50+ years. It was always the "luxury" pizza when I was growing up. It definitely was the best. Sadly, it has gone downhill tremendously in the past several years, and 2/5/26 was the last straw. This Round Table in Apple Valley...the only Round Table in 50 miles...recently restarted the buffet after shutting it down for half a decade because of Covid. I travel from Victorville, a dozen miles and 20 minutes of driving, because I enjoy(ed) it so much. I was thrilled and delighted to find out they'd restarted it. I've spent thousands of dollars over 25+ years at the Round Table buffet, but no more. Why? Because when I went in on Thursday, Feb 5, 2026, and ordered the buffet, I asked if it was possible...as it was many hundreds of times in the past...if I could get a pepperoni and olive pizza for the buffet. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary, nothing strange, and something that others would enjoy, if I didn't eat it all myself. Just toss a handful of olives on 3-4 slices of a pepperoni before putting it in the oven, and I would have been thrilled. I was immediately told "no." So, I asked who was the person making the decision, and the team member pointed to someone she called "Sam." So I asked "Sam" what the problem was, and "Sam" launched into a 10 minute argument with me about "the rules" and "we can only make pizzas that match the labels on the buffet line" (even though one of those says "local favorite"...meaning they HAVE discretion) and "if they did it for me, they'd have to do it for everyone"...to which I replied "and...?" Why is it a problem to CATER TO YOUR CUSTOMERS...? You know, the ones without whom you would not have a business...? What skin is it off your nose to MAKE SOMETHING YOUR CUSTOMERS ASK FOR...? I told "Sam" that Round Table pizza is not the government: there are no "laws" against putting a handful of olives on a couple of slices of pizza. I was absolutely dumbfounded at the absurdly stubborn, recalcitrant refusal and barrage of excuses I was given as to why they couldn't add a handful of olives to a buffet pizza. On top of all of that, when I arrived, there were only remnants of pizza that had been out a good 30 minutes+ at that point, so it was lukewarm, stale, and tough. And, of course, the salad portion had empty spots and the usual sloppy mixture of toppings spilling over onto one another. When I pointed this out to "Sam", and asked if there would be fresh pizza coming out...you know, at least of the ones they were apparently forced, by threat of imprisonment, to only make...and "Sam" snarkily replied "maybe, if necessary." This buffet isn't cheap, either. $16+. So yes, stale, tough, lukewarm, old pizza is DEFINITELY a good value. I suspect at least some of the pushback was racial, as "Sam" is a hindu/sikh of Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi origin, who delighted to exert (meaningless) power and authority over a literal nobody like me just because he could. Could be wrong, but I suspect that had something to do with it. All over a handful of olives. Utter insanity. Advice to "Sam": it isn't against the law to make special requests for the buffet. The police aren't going to storm your establishment and arrest you for not conforming strictly to corporate guidelines (if they ARE corporate guidelines, and I wasn't being lied to.) And corporate isn't going to come and yank your franchise, either, for daring to put a handful of olives on an otherwise standard buffet pizza. Won't be going back there again, and I hope to God someone rational, who understands business, opens up a franchise in Victorville. read more

I went to the buffet today. The service was great. The dinning area was nice and clean. The salad bar had a good amount of toppings to choose from and the pizzas were really good. I typically don't like leaving negative reviews and usually just don't go back to a place where I have had a bad experience, but I am leaving this in hopes that the management/owners take the time to retrain the staff. My husband and I had limited time with a crazy schedule to contend with and decided to treat ourselves to Round Table - we are huge fans. Not only did we both work at our local store in the Bay Area all through High School, but my husband actually managed the store for awhile as well. We were thrilled to find that there was a Round Table within reasonable driving distance once we moved to the high desert in 2020. It became the spot we would treat ourselves to, and have always had great experiences - up until today. Both of our work and travel schedules post pandemic have been crazy - and the last few months especially so. Connecting and having unexpected weekends off together is an incredible treat. Tonight was one of those nights and we immediately agreed on Apple Valley Round Table. From Oak Hills we set the GPS for this location and we placed our order. It said 22 minutes to the location and 30 minutes until the order would be ready. Perfect. We arrived and parked - and waited in the car until it had been 30-35 minutes past the time the order was placed. Then my husband went in to pick up the pizza while I took a call and waited in the car. I was on the call for 25 minutes and he came out almost 10 minutes after that, clearly upset. At this point it is an hour after the order was placed. They hadn't even started the pizza until he walked in. Both of us understand things happen and the fact that it was super later than scheduled for - but the fact that the staff was literally unapologetic and dismissive was beyond rude. I think the best part of coming here was the kind and exceptional people that work here. I'm definitely not a regular but the staff treated me as if I were. Ambiance was a little nicer than many pizza parlors. It didn't feel it was outstanding but again the staff more than made up for that. It was our first time at this location. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were too. The ladies working were very friendly. I like the big tall private booths. We ordered online for dine in. If you check in on Yelp there's a free 6 piece bread twists, we saved it for later because when we download the Round Table app we also got free twists. We ordered a XL Italian Garlic Supreme, it was soooo good and the garlic wasn't overwhelming. The ladies making the food did a great job, one of my top pizza places now. Great pizza experience! I was super excited to have RT while in CA. I grew up eating RT and don't get it in Colorado. We walked in about 15 min before they started their buffet, which was what we were in the mood for. The lady who helped us was so refreshingly friendly it was impressive! She smiled while helping us and offered to open the buffet early for us even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. The lunch buffet is all you can eat pizza and salad for $8.99. There are a few beer options on tap, but not what I was looking for. There is plenty of seating and private rooms for groups. I saw a few arcade games, which tend to be the standard for a California pizza joint. The salad bar was fresh and all the toppings were crisp and tasty. When the pizza came out, she had made half and half pizzas with the toppings we said we would be waiting for. It was hot, so good, and very satisfying. We had the garlic Parmesan twists to start and finished with the cinnamon twists, which I really enjoyed. I stuffed myself and didn't feel like eating anything for most of the remainder of the day. Fairly disappointing experience. First off I ordered the pizza at 4:50 pm and was supposed to be ready at 5:11, it turned out not being ready until 4:40. So it turned out to be a 50 minute wait. It took about 45 minutes to get food for me and my girlfriend. I asked for a refund as we had lost our appetite and were frustrated. They were extremely rude and it was by far the worst customer service I've ever experience, while I remained respectful. They said they weren't gonna give us the pizza and would throw it away, and followed me to my table to do so, I assume they thought I was gonna put it in the small box of macaroni that took them 30 minutes to cook, which I paid I think 20 bucks for. At one point, they stated that since there was a party going on it would delay the time for food, to which I stated if they can't continue to prioritize normal customers they don't need a party area, to which I was immediately spoken over by two ladies. I even stated how there were people that got there after us and got their pizza 20 minutes earlier than us, to which the young manager immediately with a nasty tone said "uhm no they were there before you even got here". The two ladies I spoke to shouldn't be working in a customer service environment. I recommend Pizza Hut over this place, as I know they wouldn't be so dismissive and rude to an upset customer who spoke to them respectfully and did not cause a scene. Been ordering for years but am currently disappointed as my recent order was cold and I had to microwave. This is either a result of late and or less than acceptable delivery. When I called Round table and spoke to the manager they offered no apology or compensation for the COLD PIZZA. So I will no longer order from them there are many more options. A discount or even offer of a new pizza would have gone a long way to retain a customer who has spent thousands with them in the past. The lady says it just got out of the oven and it will be out for delivery soon. 15 minutes go by so i call back and she said my order is out for delivery. We hear our doorbell ring and walk to the door (maybe 30 seconds) we open the door and our pizza is on the floor! I have a table right outside my door but no he set the pizza on my floor! I watched him do it on my ring camera. I called back to speak to a manager and all she could say was "Was it contactless delivery?" I said i dont give a shit if its contactless there is a little table outside my front door it could have been set on. She THEN decided to apologize and state he would be written up. The server will bring it to your table. When we got there (it was Sunday around 2 pm) they had their Happy Hour specials. We ordered two medium thin crust pizza (they had a special going on). My fiance ordered the Meat Lovers in thin crust and I ordered a veggie (artichokes, zucchinis, tomatoes, and mushrooms) pizza in the thin crust as well. Both pizzas tasted awesome. We apparently just paid $40 (plus $10 tip) for a large cheese pizza, with artichokes on half, and a personal cheese pizza. We had thought we ordered a large specialty pizza, with artichokes not added on half, and a personal taco pizza. It may have been an error with the online ordering, but my family was really disappointed. I got RoundTable because we were bored of Dominos toppings, but at least we get toppings with them. I ordered for delivery, so we didn't know until the driver left.
