Was heading out around the Virgin Islands, when I realized I was in dire need of some caffeine…read more Thankfully I stumbled across Virgin Island coffee roasters. Upon walking into this establishment, it really looked more like a hotel lobby than a coffee shop. Neat, clean, well appointed, very warm and friendly atmosphere. Plenty of seating options, honestly, this is the type of place I could hang out all day. I ordered a latte with an extra shot... Be mindful, they already put three shots in a latte, so mine turned out to be a quad. I also ordered the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was super flaky and buttery, and the cheese was melted perfectly. Major score to fill my belly before walking around the island. I really can't say enough nice things about this place. If I lived here on a permanent basis, this would be my go-to mooring spot. Bottom line? If you are in need of coffee.. and who isn't.. Virgin Island coffee roasters would be your best bet.

This coffee shop is ideally situated right on the beginning of the boardwalk. The cafe inside is…read moreincredibly spacious, very cutely decorated. Ambiance is a 10/10. The staff was also very helpful and kind, no notes from a service standpoint either. Unfortunately for the price point ($40 USD total for two 24 oz coffees and a hazelnut croissant), the quality of the coffee specifically is not great. This was the second time we visited this location and the first time I got a hazelnut latte that was 20oz and it was almost too sweet to drink. This time I got a lavender latte and specifically asked for less syrup, and while it was better it still wasn't worth the money spent when you could go to other coffee shops around for a cheaper and in my opinion a better coffee. The hazelnut croissant was quite tasty, cannot speak for their other pastries which they did have a large assortment.

So while I was on the island I heard multiple people telling me about Gary's bakery. But my…read moreschedule was really packed and I didn't think I could fit it into the list. Lucky for me. The guys who were driving me around said we're stopping at Gary's bakery. Honestly, if you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't know what it was. It did not look like any bakery I had ever been to before, but was super excited to walk in and see what they had. The place is not flashy, nor does it look like one of those over the top French bakeries. Bakeries. It is neat and clean, and well organized. Everything is laid out for you to see and everything looked amazing. In St. Croix, if you know this place, you know the Hot ticket are the tarts. Pineapple, coconut, guava, mango, the list goes on and on. Let me put it to you. Way, you would be hard-pressed to not like anything behind the glass case. Bottom line? If you are in the island and you don't go to Gary's bakery, You are truly missing out on a national treasure. Do yourself a favor and go there today!

Their sticky raisin buns (almost no raisins, just sweet, which was perfect) were amazing! Their homemade bear claws were great! Everything was about $2 a piece. I was recommended this place for their bush tea and coconut pastry, but ended up with a bunch of other stuff instead. Parking is a bit tricky, but just pull right in front and it will only take a few minutes to order and pay. They were pretty nice.

Staff is friendly, and kindly reminded me that it's not too early for a drink (I didn't, but was tempted to have their Bloody Mary)

Came here while visiting from California and was genuinely excited to try this small,…read morehole-in-the-wall breakfast spot. We love local places and breakfast!! However, that excitement disappeared very quickly. Every seat was full when we walked in -- totally fine, we expected to wait. What we didn't expect was to stand there for 10-15 minutes without a single acknowledgment. No "welcome in," no "we'll be right with you," no explanation of whether we seat ourselves or wait. Literally nothing. Just... ignored. As tables opened up, still nothing. No guidance, no eye contact, no words. We're just standing there like ... wondering if we accidentally walked into a place where customers aren't supposed to exist. Then a woman who I assume is the owner (Sam) barges in already radiating this rude, egotistical energy. She walks straight past us and warmly greets another table. Whatever--maybe she knew them! She's clearly frazzled, so we take a few minutes before we politely ask if we can take two empty seats nearby. She looks up and goes, "What??" then looks back down and says, "I need five minutes. Can you just give me five minutes before I do anything?" Sighs. And goes back to whatever was more important than taking two seconds to kindly seat two customers. Like, ?? LOL At this point, we wait long enough for that table that she greeted nicely to pay, get up, and leave. Still not a single kind word from anyone. Since nobody bothered to tell us how this place works, we finally seat ourselves. From there, service is slow -- which honestly didn't bother us. Island time is island time. What did bother us was the nonstop condescending, rude tone from this woman the entire time. The way she spoke to everyone made it seem like she thought she was the center of the universe, and we were just... inconveniences. The food was good, though! Can't beat down on that tbh. That's why this review is 2 s instead of 1. To top it all off, when we're finished and ready to pay, she comes over and says, "You ready to go?" We smile and say yes. She drops the payment terminal on the table and walks away without another word. No "thank you," no "how was everything," no acknowledgment that we were even human beings. Like, not even a smile??? There was just no string of kindness anywhere... My suggestion: skip this place and skip the nasty attitude. There are plenty of other spots that won't make you feel uncomfortable just for existing.
