I seated myself at a table inside and was promptly brought a menu (which is all in German by the way). I only ordered the Brot option from the appetizer section, as I did not want a full meal, and an aperol spritz to go with it. Everything was brought to me quickly, and it was all very tasty. The brot menu item is some slices of bread served with two different spreads. One was dill based (like tzatziki) and the other was a tomato spread. While both were good, I preferred the tomato spread slightly more. The bread went well with my spritz, which was my first by the way. It was refreshing, bubbly, and I liked the fact that I could still taste the alcohol. Over all this place is very nice, and a great stop if you're looking for somewhere quiet in Schwerin to relax away from crowds. The bathrooms were clean, the workers all very nice, and they had plenty of food options for any needs.

I did just that this Saturday before heading down the street to visit the Schwerin Castle. I had spent the morning exploring the Altstadt in Schwerin, and decided that a coffee and slice of cake sounded like a great snack before heading to the castle (which you can literally see from the front tables). It was seat yourself, so I grabbed a table in the sun and began scanning the menu. It is mostly in German, but does have English translations under most items. I ordered a latte macchiato, and discovered that I had to go inside to order my slice of cake. After I received my coffee, I did just that. There were plenty of options, but I took the recommendation from the lady working and chose a raspberry cream cake (I wish I remembered the actual German name of the cake). She took my table number (which was collected by the waitress outside) and I sat back down with my cake. Both my latte and cake were outstanding. They gave me the push I needed to tour the castle and gardens. I loved the ambiance of this café, and they have plenty of food options for whatever you're in the mood for. If I had had the time, I would have come back for a real meal later.

I had a Tivoli salad which was quite nice but not worth my euro. It was good enough for us to leave full, but we were somewhat unsatisfied. The restaurant itself is very nice, but that is about it. I am sure they might be better for the famous German Kaffee Kuchen. So if you do want to eat there maybe try this option better? For such a beautiful and typical city I would've expected better and more varied restaurant options. I can´t even remember the service so I´m simply not going to comment on it. Super nice staff and the cakes were really good with what I thought to be a great selection. Further they know how to make coffee and focus on making their customers happy. If the weather is nice, outdoor seating too in a quieter part of the street. This is how it's done and hence you can see that people are giving them the deserved, good reviews. Weiter so
