Four picnic shelters (two of which are rentable from the city) and a playground on a soft base. There is a "GaGa Pit" and I'm not going to try to explain what that is other than a rather unique ball game. Street parking on three sides and a restaurant across the street. Here is some info that maybe helpful before your visit:…read more - Internet connection is not good at some spots in the park. - Fat Man's Squeeze has no signage on it, or around the park. It only says "Nature Trail" on the rock. It is a very tight giant crack. You will not miss it. - Also there is no sign that indicates Venomous Copperheads hibernate in between those rocks. I heard stories about it, but we only saw warning signage about ticks and some bugs. - The visitor center is nice. It has bunch of valuable info about the park and taxidermy. Also 1 live tortoise and a black snake live in the tanks inside. There are picnic tables around. The area is so peaceful. - Alcohol is banned between September & May

Well they have a boat ramp into the water. They have a golf course..that's it..No picnic area, no bathrooms, no playgrounds..so we went on down the road to where it dead ends and loops into a parking lot area at the lake.. That's it.. I really wouldn't call it a State Park. There is some historical value here but NO signs or trails..nothing to tell you about it. I guess you have to look it up on the internet to find out any information about it. The lake was pretty though and we did stop to take a couple of photos and saw a guy in a row boat catch a fish.. Maybe there is something we missed? We will have to check it out another day..

It is much bigger than I imagined. I was able to sit where I could see 95% of the room while my kids went off and played. It started to get really busy but not overwhelming. Most parents were watching their kids and correcting their behaviors. Staff would periodically come in to check on things & give patrons their orders. I was able to make reservations online which made it easier for the check in process. We had a great time! We will be returning.

For the two that are open, the rooms are blazing hot but the showers are very cold. Not quite ice cold but the are not even "like warm". Totally unacceptable. They need to take the money wasted on overheating the rooms to heating the water to a reasonable temperature.

Maps suggest that a road leads to another forest park, but the road does become unpaved dirt and gravel before the point of crossing under the main highway. The water fountains did not work for me. It is a free park with some interesting features and a variety of possible uses.

This place is absolutely different. It's a super duper collection of "yard art" of all sorts. With an endless stream of puns and plays on words and a clear passion for what they're doing, that's what makes this place even more special. There are all sorts of things in the collection put together in various art installations around the property. There are historical things, a lot of toys, and so many plays on words you can't count 'em all. We purposely stayed an additional day in the area just to visit the museum and it was well worth it.I think everybody will get a smile out of this place but the joy in the owners' eyes makes it especially great. And the puns, oh the puns!
