    The lake

This place is beautiful! Stayed October 26-28 weather was warm 75 but got rained out Saturday. Stayed at Energy Lake campground. Very nice. Was 30 feet from the lake, the staff was nice. Went Horseback riding at Wranglers campground and Whitney our guide was wonderful and gorgeous! Ate at Patties settlement. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Food was outstanding. Pricey but delicious and worth it.

This place has a special place in my heart. Hematite Lake is a good lake to visit and the hike there is nice. And the Nature Station is a good place to visit, too. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable. Several of the animals there are there because they wouldn't be able to survive in the wild on their own.

We were looking for a new place to go with the dogs that wasn't too far from Nashville. A friend suggested this park to us, and it is worth the drive! There are so many little nooks and crannies throughout the park. There are spots for everyone! There is hiking, fishing, boating, site seeing, and camping. There is also a buffalo and elk reserve that is $5 per car. You can drive around as much as you would like. It was too hot to see any elk, but there was a large herd of buffalo. There is also a neat visitor center that has a bunch of pamphlets with everything there is available to do. It is also dog friendly! We found a small trail around a lake and walked the dogs around it, and part of the trail was in a marsh so there is a boardwalk part of the way. There is also an ample amount of picnic tables and areas. If you are looking for a day away in nature this is the spot for you!

Very beautiful piece of land. The elk and Bison refuge was awesome, it's like entering Jurassic Park, wish I could upload my video. Lots of primitive camping well taken care of campsites. The only complaint I had was the amount of empty skoal and bud light cans. I guess the people using those products don't care about much. Lots of cool roads to roll down and get dirty. Had lots of fun here, wish people were better but that's with everything.

The highlight is definitely the buffalo and elk range (though we didn't see any elk). We went swimming and the water was pretty nice. Didn't do too much hiking but the habitat looks pretty cool. Not the best in terms of hiking trails and activities but it's chill. Stopped here while on tour with my band Primal Feelings and we were happy we did. Just don't get too close to the bison!!!!!!!!

Finally found my favorite place to camp! Beautiful backcountry camping with minimal amenities. The place is well taken care of and the other visitors were all respectful. Three day camping pass is $7. There's some great back roads for dirt bikes or jeeps. Multiple water access points too! There are also a lot of cemeteries, which I haven't quite figured out why but it's an interesting quirk. No houses actually on the land. You'll need to go to the northern end to pick up the camping pass.

The nature station which features a Minnie local zoo and education was a grand total of $6 for entrance for my 7 yr old and myself, that's an all day pass people!

So my review is more for the event at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex. My GPS was very unreliable at…read morefirst and brought me to a place in the middle of nowhere. I almost gave up but I found the Hopkinsville Sportsplex. The building looks very new and is spacious. It was very crowded for the Hopkinsville International Festival. This event was free for the general public and spectacular. This is the online flyer I read about this event in Hopkinsville Sportsplex: Immerse yourself in global culture without leaving Christian County! Hopkinsville International Festival has been rapidly expanding since the first event in 2009. Over the years, it has evolved to include a bigger venue and more variety. This event celebrates the vast cultural diversity found in Hopkinsville and our region and educates citizens about a multitude of global traditions and history. 2019 Hopkinsville International Festival: Friday, March 22: 4pm-8pm Saturday, March 23: 10am-6pm at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex 155 Tilley Way, Hopkinsville, KY 42240 --------------------------------- I had so much fun by myself going to this event. They had colorful booths of different countries. Everyone looked gorgeous dressed in colorful or bejeweled costumes. The event was an explosion of color, music, art, international countries, children, and fun. I passed the info to lots of people but no one went. You got a passport and stamped at each country. The place was full of love, children, and art. The had an arts and crafts area for children and adults. I made a jeweled cherry blossom tree there. If you were hungry, they had food trucks outside and a food/ drink place inside. The food smelled delicious. I did not eat any though. There was non stop live entertainment from different countries on a stage. They also had a story time tent. I came later during the day, but the place was busy. If you have children, enjoy art, or love international festivals, I would strongly encourage you to go to this event next year. It is fun and free entertainment. The art work was very impressive. I love the Native American Indian art painted by a teenager named Juan. I wanted to buy a card or print of his painting of a Cherokee Indian on the Trail of Tears. I ate some food from Mexico-yum, talked to a beautiful girl in the Venezuelan booth, made a jeweled cherry blossom tree, and met a cool Russian artist designing tarot cards. I wanted to take a picture of a buck deer made of barb wire. My favorite booth was of Japan. It was the most beautiful and creative booth. I liked having a bunny origami made for me with my name on the back. Watching the lady draw in Japanese calligraphy and seeing beautiful women and children in kimonos were very beautiful and enchanting to me. All in all a spectacular day and mini adventure at 2019 Hopkinsville International Festival.

This location is amazing. Great place for the kids. Clean and they have lots to offer.read more
