The guy selling the tickets first led me in the wrong direction and started swearing at me when I asked him why? When I then asked him why he was so unfriendly that seemed to trigger him and he became even more aggressive, refused to sell me a ticket and told me to f... off. After reading the comments on this company on other pages I say 'Thanks God' I didn't buy a ticket from such a rude and fraudulent scumbag. Unfortunately, when I read David R's (Manager Water Tours) responses to the criticism expressed in the comments, it once again confirms an old adage - The fish stinks from the head!

Today I caught, killed, prepared and cooked my own lunch. For the fishing trips, the company go out five times a day, seven days a week, from March to November (providing the weather isn't too rough). Each trip lasts for a duration of 90 minutes which is ample time to catch enough mackerel for your tea (and probably enough to last you through the week!). The cost is £20 per head (£10 for spectators) and this included the use of fishing rods and bait. Its quite a simple technique and the boys on the boat will help you reel in the fish and kill them if you get stuck. The killing is a little gruesome but I believe its an important thing to do if you want to follow the process through from start to finish. It was maybe a little crowded on the boat which led to the lines becoming entangled on occasion. But its a fun way to spend a couple of hours, especially when the sun is shining and the seas are calm. I brought home seven mackerel, a pretty good catch. And being able to eat fish that was swimming in the sea just a few hours before is a true delight.

Seeing London from the River Thames was very nice. We boarded at the wharf inn Grennwich - headed…read moreto London. The scenery from the boat was great but the young man offering a narration was somewhat disappointing. Midway between Greenwich and London, the cruise makes one stop at the Millennium Pier for additional passengers. The first part of our cruise was enjoyable but the second part was somewhat less enjoyable due to a family of five (mom, dad and 3 rather unruly kids) who sat in front of us. The 3 kids was not well behaved and the parents did little to get them to behave. The boat was crowded at this point and moving to another seat was not an option. The views of the city from the water were great and well worth the price of the ticket. But, the narration did not add much value to the tour. And we could have done without the kids.

Even if you can't afford one of the big fancy ones with the dinner, it's really really important to…read moresee London from one of the river boats. Find one that has plenty of open airspace and do it in the daytime so you can enjoy the weather if it works that way. Otherwise you'll be down below with windows. I can't explain all the history of London of the things that we saw along the river, but you have to remember that historically everything happened along the Thames river. It was so easy to fill up my camera with beautiful images with the London eye at the London Bridge, the tower of London, Big Bend, Parliament, oh my God. What a delight. And the cruisers so helpful in accommodating on these river cruises, such great uplifting personalities to make the trip totally

As there was not much difference in price he opted to book us on the 2 hour trip. Below decks there's a bar/tearoom and toilets. Most people opted to sit on the top deck. This has plastic seating in the first 5 rows and the back rows have padded seats. Although it was a sunny day, it was cold whilst we were sailing - had I known we were going to do a river trip I wouldn't have worn a sun dress as I got quite cold! It was a pleasant trip. Commentary was via a pre-recorded cd talking about the sights and history to be seen along the bankside and it's quite fascinating to see all the lovely houses on the waters' edge. We asked for tea and cakes which was brought to us by the Captain's 'mate' a pleasant young lady with hair dyed green! It was an enjoyable trip aside from the fact that I'd taken my 5 year old granddaughter for whom the trip was just too long. She enjoyed going through the Bray Lock gates but at that age they don't understand the incredible engineering and history behind it. I would definitely recommend a river cruise if you want a relaxing afternoon but do take a blanket or some warm clothes!
