I can't express how disappointed I've been by Marlow Nail and Beauty. Not in the treatment itself,…read morebut in the attitude and management style of the owner cum manageress, and the customer service. I signed up for a course of treatments, at which point she was oh so happy to take my money. The iLipo was advertised as hour long sessions, after which you could use the salon's 'gym equipment' to enhance the treatment. In reality, the cross trainer was broken for my 1st 3 sessions and so I couldn't use it. In a later session someone who had just finished her treatment was on the cross trainer when I walked in, and the therapist asked me to get undressed and lie on the bed. I explained that I felt uncomfortable doing so in company and so the other lady was asked to leave until I was on the bed covered with a towel; awkward for both if us. At this point I emailed the salon asking if it was possible to get my money back if I cancelled my remaining sessions. I was sent a very brusque note saying 'no'. Rather than waste money I therefore resigned myself to finishing the course. The next day after work I drove to the salon (20 miles from where I work). Stuck in traffic I rang and gave my name to the salon manager who said not to worry, just get there ASAP. When I arrived (only 5 mins late) I gave my name to the same woman only to be told "but you cancelled your appointment. The staff have gone home." I was FUMING. She didn't even offer an apology unt I was walking out of the door, let alone offer to re-imburse my petrol or parking costs. Very reluctantly I re-booked the final 2 appointments. The final straw then came when I got stuck working late and called the salon to say I couldn't make my last appointment. It went to voicemail so I explained and asked them to contact me with a new time. I then received an email telling me that it was too late notice and they wouldn't re-book!! Despite the fact they had cancelled on me with NO notice previously. I am so angry and upset - what a waste of time and money. Please please please don't be fooled like I was - DO NOT USE THIS SALON.

I went to Hollywood nails for the first time yesterday for some waxing. When I arrived, I was…read moregreeted by a friendly receptionist, who directed me to the downstairs salon. With my first impressions being fairly good, my expectations were heightened. Little did I realise that it would all go downhill from here. During the waxing, the beautician made no effort in talking to me. This didn't worry me too much as I was nervous about the waxing anyway. I was informed that the full leg and bikini line waxing should take about 45 minutes on average. When the waxing only took 10 minutes, I was rather alarmed. The beautician asked me to get dressed and meet her in the next room for her to thread my eyebrows (which she actually did a good job with). When I went to pay, I was informed that there was no card machine and they only accept cash, even though there were no signs up to say so. I had to run across the street to get the money out. I realised after paying that there was also a sign up outside the window saying £5 off when you spend £30 or more. Now as my total amount came to £33, I should have received this offer... But I didn't. Because I felt she was rushing me, I didn't have time to check my legs and bikini line until I got home. The beautician had left several patches on both legs and also bikini-it's like she had just done at it instead of doing her job properly! I tried to find an email address to write to them but there is only a telephone number advertised so I can't even complain unless I go directly into the salon. Not impressed. Will definitely not be returning!

Turn your hair green and then expect you to wait a week to fix it. Was evident that they were more…read moreconcerned about cleaning up and closing than leaving me like this for a full week. Full details: At the first visit, I requested both highlights and lowlights, but the stylist did not apply lowlights and only put in highlights. She stated the bleach required 30 minutes to process but left it on for 56 minutes due to being busy. As a result, my hair came out far lighter than requested, completely different from the target photo I provided. When I returned to the Maidenhead salon the stylist admitted the colour had taken too much and attempted to correct it with lowlights and a toner. However, this resulted in my hair turning a khaki-green and grey in parts, rather than the medium, soft blonde I had asked for. I was told the only solution would be to wait for the toner to fade. Have been told will need to give up several more hours for it not to ever reach my desired look despite consistent errors. Customer care team is refusing even a partial refund. I will be starting legal proceedings.

Hiya, I'm a 16 year old who doesnt really know much about hair or anything like that, and was open…read moreto any ideas and guidance when it came to my hair. As I am 16 and am currently on minimum wage, my budget was very limited, and I just wanted an unnatural hair colour done professionally, as I have only dyed my own hair for the past 5 years. I understood that this might not be possible, as I had stained red hair, and was open to being turned away. When I got into the salon, I was told to take a seat in a chair to wait for the stylist. When my stylist arrived, she was very outspoken about the "greasiness" of my hair. This was through no fault of my own, as I had washed my hair 2 days prior (due to concerns that any dye wouldnt take), but I work in a high pressure and labour intensive position where I am required to wear a hat every day for a 9 hour shift. The lady had a disgusted expression and made it very evident that she had an immediate distaste towards me. I am not very traditional in my clothing choices aswell, which gained me a few amused looks from other stylists. I was then told that it wouldnt be possible to do the treatment unless they bleached my hair and cut it very short (absolute no, ive had awful cuts in the past and I am not going through that again), which I accepted, and was about to tell her that I would leave the salon, due to my budget being limited. Before I could do this, She then proceeded to say she would do a strand test on my head, and asked if she could cut a bit of my hair from the back. I said yes, ok why not. She then led me to the front desk and all of her coworkers gathered around. They were all giggling and laughing at my request, and stood in a circle excluding me from any conversation. I was laughed at by other customers, and the whole experience was just extremely unpleasant for someone who has multiple anxiety related conditions. I was told they would do a strand test, and call me back with the results. I never received a call, they now have a random chunk of my hair, and the claw clip my hair was in when I arrived. As a salon, I believe that you should advise someone on their hair journey, and politely decline their request if you don't think it is in their best interest, instead of ridiculing someone privately with your coworkers. Needless to say, I bought a box dye. I got my desired result with no issues at all and I'm very happy with my hair. Improve your customer service, because the whole team gave me a gossip sesh vibe. Really not very understanding or polite, and flat out LIED about calling me, doing a strand test etc. You could've just said no?? Anyways, I got blue hair in the end, but the whole situation made my day a lot worse
