Using Ross' for snow plowing this year and so far everything is great. The owner is very nice and easy to reach.

Lesson Learned = TruGreen will take your money to service your yard, but it is up to you to make…read moresure they do it correctly. If you don't, there is a risk of damage to your yard (at least for me, they destroyed my front yard in 11 months). Location: Central NJ I had a brand newly sodded yard (less than 2 years old), and I hired TruGreen in October 2023 because I wanted to have one vendor to service my bushes and yard. In June 2024, they serviced my yard and attributed browning spots to "heat stress." They did not take the time to see if the areas could possibly be damaged by insects. They did not service my yard in July, and by August, my yard looks exactly like the pictures. One technician (JUSTIN D) came out and told me that "chinch bugs" and "sod web worm" were the culprits plus lawn disease. He assured me that he sprayed for the bugs (albeit late since the grass is dead). He also told me that he was not surprised that I had a lot of weeds since I wasn't serviced for 2 months. Again, foolish of me to think I would be scheduled appropriately. He came across as defensive and put the onus on me to have called sooner as "we're a team". I spoke to someone else at TruGreen (who came across as nice and concerned) and recommended a "manager" come out to look at the yard / potentially making "resources available" for any repair. The "manager" (ANTHONY U) who showed up with a lit cigarette told me that "chinch bugs damaged my yard not us". This is very true, and I must have been foolish to think that TruGreen (under a "TruMAINTENANCE" plan) would have at least investigated browning areas back in June. The "manager" (bless his heart) tried to pitch their seeding service (non-complimentary of course). If I could trust them to do quality work or if the technicians might have showed a little sympathy, I might have given that a try since my yard is now a disaster. I feel like a fool for trusting them, but it does give me joy to know that I will never give this company a penny again. See below for some lessons I learned (in case you decide to give them a try): 1) I signed up for the TruMaintenance plan which did not include Lawn-Damaging Insect control. However it did include a "Lawn Assessment" where I would have assumed they could have alerted me to any potential problems / opportunity to upsell a different plan. It's probably better to sign up for TruComplete or TruHealth in hindsight OR monitor the yard closely yourself in case there are issues they don't look for or catch. 2) Make sure you tell them to spray and service your entire yard -- you will have to show them exactly where to go (including the area between a side walk and street). For me, they didn't bother to spray weed control between my sidewalk and street, so that area has been overtaken by weeds. 3) Note that different people can show up to service your yard so try to be home while they are servicing it to make sure that whoever shows up actually services the entire yard (unfortunately, they usually serviced my home on Tuesday / Wednesdays when I would be physically at work).

Rich has been by far one of the worst attitudes I've ever encountered in any service industry I've…read moreever had and I'm so so relieved I don't have to use his services ever again. So I moved into my house end of summer last year. Tried to find a proper lawn care company to do my lawn for cutting grass and potentially other lawn care services. Unfortunately, my property is too small for those bigger riding lawn mowers to get access to my backyard, which is what most of the bigger companies use to cut grass. I've got in touch with Rich. I was thankful that I was able to finally find someone to cut my grass since he uses a push lawn mower and can get access, where others said they couldn't. Almost every time I ask him for service he seemed to always have some sort of chip on his shoulder and always made me feel uneasy. I even mentioned it to him once to see if everything is okay with him. He took offense to that and got even more upset and gave me even more attitude. But, I couldn't stop services with him as I had no one else to help with my lawn. He was able to cut my grass maybe 3/4 times - and took care of our leaves 2/3 times before the season ended and now that spring has started, of course I called him again for service. It's spring, and with spring, comes rain. When it rains, schedules get delayed. Not an issue and it's understandable. He had rescheduled a couple times due the weather which again was totally fine. After having the schedule changed a few times, he scheduled to come on a particular Saturday but he never gave a time. So, I called him just to ask if he can give me more of a specific time he'll be coming, as I needed to relay that info to my wife because she was the only one home (along with my 20 month old) and my wife has appointment to attend to later that afternoon. Also, Rich likes getting paid up front with cash before he starts working, which is unusual but also fine because that's his business. But, because he requests the money ($85) up front, we need to have it ready before he gets to us so that he can job started right away. He also gets upset if he has to wait more than a minute once he's at the house. Mind you also, my wife is taking care of our 20 month old toddler by herself and I'm at work an hour away. Okay, so I asked him what time can we expect him to be there and he starts yelling at me to stop calling him as he is doing the best he can. I was confused as to what he was talking about and why he's yelling at me. I just wanted a specific time he was thinking to come the next day as he never gave us that info. I tried to explain to him the reason of the call and he replies back: "Well you tell your wife to have my money ready at 9AM!" - and hangs up on me. Maybe he's stressed to catch up with all the other clients lawns due to the weather changes, I don't know. Nonetheless, that was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. I did not give him any attitude nor did I feel like I gave him any reason to be talked to in that way. I had texted with him back and forth a few times to get an idea of the times he had to reschedule the past week but I never called him prior from that. So that Saturday he came to cut the grass, he never edged up our lawn nor did he clean up the twigs and sticks that's laying across the yard as he had done so in his past services with our yard. If you're not going to treat people right and with respect there is no reason for me to ever respect you or give you my business. If I didn't work 70hrs a week with an hour commute back home, I would try to take care of the lawn myself. But, I would rather spend the little time I have at home with my little one and my wife. Thank the lord that I have finally found someone else besides Rich, who can help me with my lawn services. I hope you learn to treat others better and with more kindness. I appreciated the times you did come but I'm so thankful I don't have to call you ever again. Take care sir.
