Simply shopping for a luggage bag. They have security locks on the zippers so a sales associate must unlock it for you to look inside. Not a problem, at least I thought. I kindly asked the associate behind the desk, a caucasian heavy set curly brown headed lady, if she could open it. Instead of replying with a polite yes, sure or absolutely it was a curt " Only if you are planning on buying it". When I stated yes, she said OK with no further instructions. I sat the luggage next to the side of the desk, (which is very large but communicates with the front of said desk where she is standing). I continued to browse around, waiting on the associate. After a few moments I patiently stood still by the luggage. At the time of asking her help, there were no other customers to check out. Now there are 2 or 3. She never acknowledged me again. It wasn't until another sales associate, a blonde caucasian older lady, asked if I had been helped. She told her, "Yes, just waiting for him to bring that around to me since I cannot reach it over there". No communication to me at all, no instruction to me previously that I would need to bring it around to the front of the same desk (I guess 15 steps was too much for her to walk), she didn't even look at me as she admonished me to the other associate. Simply the poorest customer service I experienced in any store. Just came across as an arrogant passive aggressive behavior that was very uncalled for. Is this what customer service looks like now? Is there a reason to treat people this way? The blonde sales associate did try to continue to help and was very nice to me but at this point I am so annoyed that I told her thank you, but her associate's behavior ruined the sale. As I left the store, the offending associate said with a half assed smile and sarcastic tone, "have a nice day". This happened at approx: 6:50pm on Monday, March 10, 2025 in Rolla so you can look who was working. This person definitely needs some further training in customer service or counseling, which ever would help most. read more
