I am writing to express my deep disappointment and distress regarding an incident that occurred at your Ross Dress for Less location at 3150 Macon Rd, Georgia, on February 5, 2025. As a loyal customer, I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention in the hope that it will lead to improved customer service and accessibility in your stores.
On the evening of my visit, I arrived at the store approximately 20 minutes before closing to purchase items for my granddaughters. As I approached the checkout line, I experienced an urgent need to use the restroom, a situation exacerbated by medication I take, which sometimes necessitates frequent restroom visits.
I politely requested the cashier to begin ringing up my 27 items while I quickly used the restroom. Unfortunately, I was informed that the restroom was unavailable due to cleaning and waxing of the floors. Despite my urgent need and the presence of other customers in line, my request was denied. I then approached another cashier, who identified herself as the store manager, and explained my predicament. However, she reiterated that the restroom was inaccessible.
In a desperate attempt to find relief, I rushed to a nearby Panera Bread, only to find it closed. I then drove to a community outreach building, but unfortunately, I was unable to hold it any longer and experienced an accident in my car. This incident left me feeling ashamed and traumatized, and it could have been avoided with a more compassionate and accommodating response from your staff.
The emotional impact of this experience has been significant, and it highlights the importance of accessible facilities in public spaces. I believe that reasonable accommodations should be made for individuals who have urgent needs, especially when restrooms are not truly out of order. read more
