It was a lovely little farm, with cute towns and another farm (that makes cider) nearby. In the main building, there are detailed descriptions of how the farm and the dairy work, including photos, video, and a peek into the facilities themselves. It wasn't crowded - even on a Saturday (though note that you can't see the dairy workers live on Saturdays). There were farm animals you could pet or see (pigs, chicks, etc.), and a place to wash your hands afterwards. The gift shop was cute: it sold fudge, stuffed animals, greeting cards, books, plates, and of course, ice cream. The tea room had ample flavors, and the cashier/ice cream scooper was very kind and charming. I enjoyed the chocolate fudge flavor, and my friends liked their white chocolate hazelnut and mint chocolate chip. They also offered clotted cream vanilla, clotted cream strawberry, clotted cream black currant, cherry jubilee, pistachio, oriental ginger, honeycomb crunch, banoffee, and lemon sorbet. Looks like the flavors vary depending on when you visit. I'm so glad we stopped here. It was an excellent way to break up the drive.

The absolute best is the blackcurrant & cream (made with Cornish clotted cream!!!) ice cream, but I'm not positive they're still making that. Otherwise, the strawberry and cream is a close second! Best of all, not only can you get these by going to the farm (which I've done) but now, you can also pick up pints at Sainsbury's, and tons of local restaurants, tourist traps (does every English Heritage site in Cornwall stock Callestick?), and shops also sell Callestick... Sometimes I'm really surprised that I don't leave Cornwall weighing 10 pounds more than when I arrived... and also, really grateful I can't get this stuff in Canada.

The plaque with the names of the Mayflower's passengers is displayed on the side of the building for some good reading while you enjoy your treat. It lists the passengers' occupation and hometown, but there are gaps, especially where women are concerned. The notes about the children were particularly interesting. Several children were traveling with other families and the plaque read, "a boy that was put to him" next to the head of household. Several children were born during the voyage to the New World and one was given a particularly auspicious name: Oceanus. Now that is a lot of name to live up to...

I don't know who came in first, but I can't argue with the fact that this is pretty tasty ice cream in a pretty gorgeous location. The Ice cream is produced in Zennor, a tiny village with 28 inhabitants which we had passed through while walking the Cornish Coastal Path. The company is family run and the ice cream is made from milk from Daisy, Primrose and Sid Vicious, and many other Friesian cows on Tremedda Farm. They then produce about 30 different flavours of ice cream and sorbet which it then sells through this little shop in St Ives. The shop itself is tiny with just a couple of small tables, however they still manage to serve cream teas and coffees along side the ice creams. Its situated right on the beach front so perfect for take away, particularly when the Cornish sun is shining. I went for the orange and mascarpone flavour which was simply divine. Would I like a free wafer with that? Of course, does anyone ever say no?! I would have to agree with the Times, certainly one of the best ice creams I have been lucky enough to taste. Send some up to Sussex please!

So, in case you missed it, the name is a pun. In fact, it's a couple of puns. You see, 'Naughty but…read morenice" is a common phrase that's been used (amongst other things) as the titles of films. "Nauti" sounds like 'Naughty", but invokes "nautical", and that's funny because it's right on the harbor of a fishing village, and "Ice" invokes "nice", but actually they sell ice-cream, so it's really very clever. Alright, that aside, they do sell ice-cream, and there's nothing wrong with it. It's not hipster ice cream, make with salt and straw, hand crafted by fedora-wearing arts graduates while they listen to lo-fi grunge on vinyl, but it's good. They also sell tourist tack, which is fine too. On the rare occasion when I've needed tourist tack theirs has been no worse than anyone else's.

I've only rated not stayed here, but my parents have and said its wonderful-however it comes at a price! I can't image most people could justify more than 3 nights, but worth it for a short luxury break:) Despite the smartness, the staff are relaxed and children are welcome:)
