I had a great experience at Roseville Numismatic.  I had purchased a chain from Ebay that was advertised as 14kt. However, when I received it, it didn't look like 14kt at all.  I wanted to be absolutely certain before I returned it for a refund. I called and asked if they'd be willing to take a look for me. I wasn't sure if I needed an appointment because I've walked and driven by a million times and the security gates intimidated me at first, but the gentleman on the phone was very kind and patient and told me to bring in the chain for an evaluation - no appointment necessary and there is a bell at the gate to let them know when you arrive so they can buzz you in. I went over the same afternoon. He took a look under his loupe and quickly determined that it was gold filled as I had suspected. As I was getting ready to leave, I asked what I owed him for his time, and he said, "nothing for today". I was FLOORED and so very appreciative. I drive from the bay area to do business with these guys. After calling a few places near me and getting low balled on some silver and gold coins I was selling, I called them and was told they will pay 95% of spot price. Fair enough, Drove up there and when they saw the silver coins I had I was told they were worth more and paid me about 5% more than the spot price. I was blown away by there honesty. What can I say about this place? Bill like the dollar bill:) First off he is so nice and inviting. As a coin collector I find him very patient with everyone including me. I truly believe that he wants you to find what you want and they let you look at their treasures with patience...and offers great advice and fun small talk... I went in here knowing what i had a 1928-S peace dollar in great shape worth a few bucks he said it was cleaned it was not cleaned took it to 2 other dealers they both said not cleaned and one made me a decent offer do not trust the big guy he was trying to get it from me for nothing. read more

From the moment I entered this store until the time I left I was treated with respect and kindness that was different from your normal "cold" retail store. I had a large collection of various coins that I began collecting as a youngster and wanted to unload them as (now) a senior. I've had a few silver coins since I was a child, and instead of them continuing to collect dust, I decided to bring them and see what they were worth - and after taking the advice from Pat Walsh Show on KFBK, I arrived in the Roseville store! I had all my coins in sleeves along with my original first communion medal that my mother had given to me when I was 7 years old!! Accidentally, I left this medal with the coins and only realized a week later - called and even came in so I could retrieve the medal. Unfortunately, they could not find it when I arrived, but took down my phone number and address. After about another week, they found the medal and mailed it back to me - I even told my Irish Catholic mother about the whole incident, and we both laughed, but also thankful to Roseville Numismatic for being honest and people of integrity. I had a great experience working with Steven! My Father had passed away and he had coins he had collected from family members who were intense collectors. I didn't know anything about the coin collection world. I called, and a very nice woman said that I could come in anytime, even without an appointment. I came in and Steven helped me right away. He asked if I wanted to sell or just get the values and I told him I hadn't decided. He took the time to look at every single coin, yet was so fast! He was so calm and confident as he looked at every piece, that I felt assured that he really knew each coin and was giving me the fair values. Just went down there and got 13 bucks for 1.50 face value silver 2 half dollars and 2 quarters a 1904 penny and a one gram bullion silver eagle. and I had an inventory of my coins and two came up missing after he sneezed with my coins in hand and puts them up his sleeve I went there because i thought they would be professional numastic values for my coins. I will never go there again but unfortunatly I only had a number count and not sure what the coins were because of the large variety I had. I had to give one star and highly disapointed they should just call it a pawn shop!! read more
