My first stay was three years ago. I stayed in the Jacob room and pampered myself with solitude and the clawfoot tub. I convinced my husband to stay in the cottage on our next trip through the area. He fell in love with the B&B just as I had. We now average 4 stays a year at Roseville. We have been in every room. Each has its own character. All are quiet and comfortable. We plan our routes to be able to stay in a place that lets us truly get away. Virginia and Melvin are what makes a great experience exceptional. His breakfasts are beyond delicious! read more

To say this place is a charming farm bed and breakfast is like saying the Empire State Building is tall. Virginia was a sweet host and the cottage out back is an amazing getaway with a private living room, bathroom, bedroom, and it's own porches and swinging bench. Ana, one of the farm cats literally just walked up to my wife and climbed in her lap within minutes of us settling in. We woke up under warm fuzzy blankets to the sounds of the cows mooing and soft light coming through the stained glass windows. Dinner and lunch here are NOT always an option (they do special events and seasonally open as a dinner restaurant) but breakfast was exceptional! From their famous tomato pie (savory tomato and melted cheese over a seasoned biscuit) to the quiche to the hash Potatoe casserole. It was all delicious and just enough. read more

This was a great lunch for us. It is not a place you can show up at= you need a reservation a day or two before. The owners are very sweet and he says most of the recipes are creations of his. This was a 1935 farmhouse that they reinvented/ converted over 15 years ago. We had their "Tomato Pie" that was very tasty and savory but not sweet. Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken Crepes and Chicken Salad were also delicious. We washed these down with about a gallon of their Raspberry Limeade that the owner said was basically, "water and sugar with pink food coloring".....whatever....it was delicious. The desserts are rich like Lemon Icebox Pie or Chocolate Cake. They also have some coffee called Costa Rican Conquistadore or something that is needed to fight off the insulin coma of the delicious meal! This is worse a visit! read more

I've stayed at many B&Bs and this one is among the best! The home is lovely and there are plenty of charming common spaces to enjoy, both inside and on the expansive front porch. Upon our evening arrival there was a fire in the fireplace in the front room to greet us. As we walked in we were welcomed by our host, Virginia, who showed us to our lovely room (the Jacob room). The room is large with a comfy king bed and premium quality bedding, and what's great is the two separate bathroom sink separated by a wall (great for two girls getting ready in the morning)! There's a shower and a lovely clawfoot tub. The room is filled with amenities: lotions, toiletries, shampoos, Q-tips, etc., so no need to worry if you forgot something. Virginia asked us what time in the morning we would prefer breakfast and also let us know there would be a fresh pot of coffee at the ready for when we got up in the morning. The breakfast cooked by Virginia's husband was amazing (so much better than a hotel provided breakfast). We enjoyed fresh orange juice, fluffy mini pancakes with a side of delicious fruit compote, biscuits, eggs and bacon. Parking was easy and we were immediately greeted by the friendly resident cat, who followed us from our car to the front door. I highly recommend staying here! read more

This place is wonderful. The house and bedrooms are stunning and the house was extremely clean and very tastefully decorated. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to stay at this bed and breakfast. I enjoyed great conversations with Mrs. Virginia and wished we could have stayed longer. We couldn't have stayed at a better place during a class reunion weekend. The Roseville is located in between Marshall and Hallsville. The place was lovely. The lawn is lushly blooming with various flowers. Picture perfect. The beds were soft with soft bedding. My husband and I didn't want to get out of bed. However the smell of sausage and eggs pleasantly woke us up each day. The breakfast was worth the stay alone. I only hope they have the cheery cobbler for you to try! We will be going back the next time we return to the area. read more

My husband and I are both teachers and decided to take a road trip for Spring Break. On our way back from Oklahoma, we chose to extend our trip one extra night, and I'm so glad we did! Virginia and Melvin had the cottage available and to say it was amazing would be an understatement. Everything was absolutely wonderful, from their hospitality to Melvin's home cooked breakfast! We loved walking the gardens and saying hello to all the farm animals. We made fast friends with their sweet cats, who followed us around. Roseville is the perfect place to relax and recharge. This is THE place to stay in Marshall. Our family fell in love with the Roseville. We stayed the weekend here while visiting our daughter at ETBU. The beds made you want to sleep in and the coffee made you want to jump up and make a cup and spend the morning on the front porch watching the hummingbirds. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and I do mean Amazing. Our two girls can not wait to go back and spend time together here. There are so many wonderful things to say about the Roseville Bed and Breakfast but you must go and see for yourselves.
