"I usually don't leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience due to how appallingly the staff were treated during my visit. While I was at Roses, I witnessed the manager berating an employee in front of several customers -- including myself. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly, unacceptable. The employee appeared to be doing their best, but instead of offering support or guidance, the manager chose to belittle them loudly and publicly. It created a tense, unpleasant atmosphere that made me -- and others around me -- want to leave. No one deserves to be humiliated like that, especially not in front of customers. Not only does this kind of behavior reflect poorly on management, but it also ruins the customer experience. If this is how staff are treated regularly, it raises serious concerns about the workplace culture at this establishment. Until there's clear accountability and a change in how employees are treated, I won't be returning -- and I wouldn't recommend others do, either. read more

The store located in Martinsville VA on Commonwealth is racially biased towards the customers. I shopped there on 10/10 2024 and a lady followed me around the store the entire time. Not 19 minutes later I went into the store to exchange a pair of slacks and the cashier/ customer service rep was rude and disrespectful. She thought it was comical and laughed. Always a fan of Roses. Don't have to wait in long lines, like at Wal-Mart. First time to this one, and it was the biggest Roses store I've been in. They have a rear entrance also. No customers were at the check-out there. Bought some motor oil and house air filter for a good price. read more

I've been in here 3-4 times. The employees are always rude. You ask a question and they act like you are an annoyance. No one ever smiles and the cashiers are hateful. Its not worth shopping here especially with Ollies right next door. read more

This isn't really comparable to Walmart. It doesn't have the selection and, frankly, seems like something between a Big Lots and a thrift store. The electronics department is basically a bunch of boom boxes. There's a decent amount of clothing, but none of it is particularly appealing. It's not even up to Kmart standards.
