Very random and dense collection of vinyl, but it's not "curated" - the selections look for the…read moremost part like they're just culled from garage sales in the area. That said, the Re-Collector has picked up a few gems so if you're a hard core collector, you'll likely spend a little time flipping through the bins. There's some CDs, DVDs, cassettes, and even a shelf of 8-tracks, and then a bunch of completely randomized tschotschkes. While I'm a sucker for this sort of thing usually we haven't found anything interesting on repeated visits. The music and vibe can be interesting or annoying, which goes double for the Re-Collector himself; he seems to be a bit moody. The store's pretty cramped, too, so go in with your claustrophobia under control and I recommend not taking any bags in, either. Worth a buzz-by if you like random odd used stuff stores, but not a can't miss one-of-those-things IMHO.

The highlights, mostly. Tons of good rock, jazz, folk, R&B, Soul, and Funk records. Don't expect them to have every extremely rare album by every niche artist, but they have something for everyone here. The owner/staff is very friendly and helpful if you need help finding something or if your searching for something specific. I'm very happy that a place like this has taken over the former residence of Saratoga Guitar, owned by the late, great Matt McCabe (RIP). Also to note is that there is a second business in the same location, 6th Generation Violin. I don't know much about violins or services pertaining to it but they had some guitars there for sale and tried them out. Seems like a pretty cool place if you're into that sort of thing.

The good... nice selection of albums that I don't see in my market too often. (Philadelphia). I ended up buying a few for a great price. (Actually didn't see any albums that weren't priced significantly below what I am used to). The bad... you'll need help finding this place. Google and waze don't tell you it's in the basement. They both put you in the middle of the block and it's up to you. Although the shopkeepers in the stores above were real helpful not only telling its downstairs but also walking me to the staircase and explaining where it was exactly. The ugly... there isn't one. Well if there was one, I'm sorry I went record shopping the previous weekend. Saw a lot of the same records I had just bought cheaper here. Owner was a real nice guy and I asked about other stores in the area. He sent me to another store 20 minutes away that while they did have a bigger selection, there stuff wasn't as "quality " or as cheap. Not a bad place but not great either. Getting back to OTR, great little store. Nice selection, fantastic prices and great staff. Can't ask for more. I will go out of my way to stop here again. AAA+++

They have boxes of dollar deals - which is much better than shopping with arrogant hop-head mall rats at Best Buy or digging for stuff at the local yard sale. I really enjoyed the cd quality and the case had no scratches, or broken pieces. I had been waiting a long time to find this cd so having it now is mind-blowing. The booklet with all of the lyrics has amazing pictures included, as well as the picture behind the cd. No poster included which is a bummer but everything else makes up for it. I played it all the way through with no skips, although I did drop it and the case broke really easily which I guess is expected with cheap plastic. I did spend around $15 and the shipping was almost the same amount as the product itself which is not the best. Overall, my expectations were met and I expected nothing less since I ordered from the official website. I would definitely repurchase from this website because the products are great and physical media lovers would really enjoy the variety of items there are. The website was very easy to navigate and includes many different music artists and products such as cd's, vinyl's, clothing merch, etc. It also has occasional holiday sales which is what lead me to purchase this cd. I saw that this website was having a 25% off sale store wide for Labor Day and I saw it as an opportunity to finally purchase the cd I've always wanted and at last, I got.

Background: I tried to place a pre-order of Coheed & Cambria's, Second Stage Turbine Blade during a…read morelimited 48-hour pre-order window offered by Equal Vision Records (EVR) on 4/20/23. The policy stated that a customer can only order 1 copy and any additional copies/orders may result in the cancellation of all orders. My issue: Due to the high demand and limited supply of this hard to find album, I was very intent upon purchasing this at the exact time it was set to be released on Apr 20 (10 AM PST / 1PM EST). In fact, EVR had a limited release of 2500 copies a month prior (March 2023) which instantly sold out and I was not lucky enough to get one. So when this pre-order was announced, I was under the impression that it would be a similar situation where I'd need to act swiftly in order to get a copy. So when the time came to pre-order the album on Apr 20, I had multiple windows open on my web browser so that I could increase my chances of starting the order process and avoid being kicked out into the virtual queue, which is what had happened to me back in March when I was unlucky. Needless to say, this time my orders went through with no problem. Yes, my ORDERS (multiple) went through at just about the same time which I immediately recognized to be in violation of the 1 copy per customer policy. As soon as I had placed the multiple orders, I immediately attempted to reach out to the Merch Now customer service team for assistance in cancelling one of the orders. Merch Now does not have a way to contact their customer service team by phone to provide immediate assistance (as most companies do), but rather you are encouraged to leave a voicemail and/or send an email, which I did both. They say that responses take an average of 1-3 business days due to being a small, family-owned business with limited staff resources, which I can appreciate. However, given the time sensitivity of the situation due to the limited order window, I would have expected that the Merch Now team would have been prepared to be more responsive and willing to assist. This was not the case. When Merch Now customer service did finally respond to my email on 4/24/23 after the pre-order window had closed, they told me that both of my orders had been canceled due violating the guidelines by ordering two copies when the limit was one copy per customer. At this time I was considered out luck as far as they were concerned because they could do nothing to help me. There was no acknowledgement whatsoever of the fact that I had tried to proactively reach them in advance to address the issue. Merch Now did not offer any solutions to help and basically continued to tell me that I was in the wrong. Needless to say, the experience I had with Merch Now's customer service team was extremely disappointing and I did not find them to helpful in anyway. I wanted to share my experience and recommend you purchase with caution, especially if there are any high demand products you wish to purchase. If you happen to make a mistake on your order good luck getting any timely help! TL;DR: I accidentally placed multiple orders on an item with a strict 1 copy policy and there was a 48-hour purchase window. When I tried to contact Merch Now customer service to help resolve my issue, I was met with a slow response time (after the order window already expired), told I violated the policy and that there was no way they could help me. Very poor customer service/assistance - 0 out of 5 stars.

The price's are great. It's a fun store to hang out and an explore. Andrew can order items for you. There are also special release records, a vast variety of 45s, a section of bargain lps and CDs. It's in the old Crane's factory, which is a piece of history in itself. Andrew invited me to his next record show. "You've got to come." He said, giving me a flyer with a smile. "You'll love it."
