My first job as a teenager was at Roses in Bennettsville , South Carolina in 1984 . Unfortunately 2 weeks later a tornado hit the strip mall it was located in and destroyed everything and I was in it at the time ! I haven't been in a Roses since and I went into the Army in 1985 to Germany for 4 years , then the west coast ever since . I come home to visit every 3 years or so and occasionally see a Roses , but never checked them out . This time when I was in Myrtle Beach , I had to go in and see if I could find some good deals on some beach t-shirts or souvenirs . It was like stepping back in time . Roses is similar to what K-mart was in design and products they carried . I would say a small step up from K-mart . Since it was October I guess all the larger sized Myrtle Beach T-shirts were sold . I ran across this at lots of the T-shirt shops too . I did by a couple things though . The place was clean and so was the parking lot . I would recommend you to stop in and see if you can find some good deals . They sell all kinds of stuff , snacks , house wear , clothes , decorations . So check them out . read more

Rose's Complaint 10/28/23 Very rarely do I post negative reviews, but sometimes, people earn the honor of a negative review. Such is the case with the Rose's Department Store in North Myrtle Beach. We had an issue that we wanted to speak to the manager about. The manager, TOM, met us in the front of the store. This is one of the most unpleasant encounters we've had. TOM was unprofessional, dismissive, and completely nasty. At one point we requested the name of the regional supervisor and he refused to provide any information. After requesting the name 3-4 times, he walked away from me without saying anything. He refused to give me any information on a supervisor and finally wrote down the number for Rose's Home Office. After several more requests, he claimed the regional supervisor was Roger Raines (sp), but refused to provide any information of how to contact this person. TOM's totally unprofessional attitude earned him and Rose's this negative review. read more

I discovered Rose's a few years back while on East Coast. My first time visiting the Myrtle Beach store. I like the variety if items as well as the varied sizes in clothing. The prices are always so affordable. The selections are unique. I like their variety in cosmetics too. I can spend hours there! I love this store. read more

I've always liked Roses. Prices are pretty good. Definitely not a "name brand" type of store. Wife likes to get our "cheap" shower curtains there. read more

We have shopped Roses for many years, even when I was a kid - now almost 70 years of age. We have seen many changes through those years but never seen what we experienced last Wednesday. Purchased a few things including a Myrtle Beach T-shirt. They do have a pretty good selection of them at better prices than most local places. I thought the final tally was a bit high so I ask my wife to check the register tape. Charged for a dress we did not buy! There were not that many items but not the $4.00 T-Shirt and a dress we did not buy. Here is the rub, we ask them to make the proper corrections which they decided to make a return on the dress we never bought but was charged for. A refund was made and the T-Shirt was paid for - but they marked the return as a decided not to keep! like it was our fault, we made a mistake. Not! There was never a dress and we did not purchase anything in that price. One covering for another is all I can say about that. Will we trust them ever again after the way it was handled - you can bet not. So the moral is watch them and check your receipt. Maybe they should have sold out to Sam Walton when he made an offer years ago. read more

We walked in today my husband,my g granddaughter and I Nobody stopped us and said you have to have a .edu after about an hour of shopping my husband bought our g granddaughter a toy ,still no mask and went to the car I am the shopper and shopping for 4 of my brands and 2 more of my great brands another 30 minutes or more in the store with no mask Then this very very rude sales lady came up and said I need a mask I told her I have one in my purse as I was about to get beings I was ready to go out I didn't mind not breathing a few minutes So instead of waiting for me to get my mask out she pointed her finger at me telling Well I did very good and walked away leaving over 200.00 worth of stuff behind Maybe Rosies can look at the camera and point your finger in her face I am 66 too old for that Went down the rd to another store No mask nor did the cashier I felt Free as I shopped and got the few things I needed So guess I need to thank the rude lady at Rosies saved me a lot of money We don't have a Rosies so I always ship there when I see one in my travels But not anymore My name is Martha And people know I love shopping but hate rudeness read more
