I have been buying secondhand clothing and locally-made vendor goods from Darling x Dashing for a…read morefew years now (and consigning my own clothes just to end up buying more than I brought in ), and I have also hosted multiple "sip and shop" pop-ups as a representative for a nearby winery. It's an adorable shop run by an amazing group of incredible, caring people who put a great deal of time and effort into curating a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life. They are very selective about the items that they agree to consign, so shoppers have a ton of high-quality, in-style options to choose from. It's honestly dangerous to go in there because there is always something cute that I MUST have; however, if you have a clothing problem like I do, when you're not buying new, you can at least shop with a clean conscience! On the other end, the consignment process is simple, clear, and quick, and you are reasonably compensated when your items sell, especially if you opt for store credit payout. The dressing rooms are honestly my favorite part. When you walk in, you're greeted by hundreds of sticky notes with positive affirmations posted by other shoppers. It's like the positivity and immediate camaraderie you find in the womens' restroom at a club (but without all of the bottom-shelf liquor). Shop small, and shop secondhand!

The books that you find there are so full of quality content, the type of books that help parents raise children with intentionality and teach kindness, empathy, and open-mindedness. The organization of the store is fun. When I went, there was a section for summer themed items and travel toys, STEM, dino toys and clothes, and more. I was truly wowed by the quality brands. You find brands like Haba and Usborne. I was particularly taken aback by all of the great Usborne stuff! I'm a major fan, and it's expensive to get that stuff shipped. The books end up being like $20, so it was nice to see them priced so reasonably here. I saw some great write and wipe books on letters, numbers, and math. There were some great sticker books (the type that teach), and I was able to snag a seek-and-find bug sticker book that teaches counting for like $8. It is incredibly engaging and effectively reinforces counting skills in a very fun way. Plus, it gives kids something to do with stickers that's fun and doesn't involve finding them all over your house. They also had some great quality Canadian brand of kids toys that I cannot remember, but good craft kits from them. Aside from the clothing, prices were quite reasonable, and the clothes, admittedly, were better quality than you see at typical kids stores. They were made like stuff used to be made. You know, like actually quality enough to pass down. I definitely plan to make this a regular stop for my birthday and Christmas shopping list. There are no yap yap toys, but pretty much kid-powered stuff that requires a brain to be actively engaged in creative thinking. My kind of stuff! Honestly, this store literally looks like what I would put in a kids store, if I created one myself, so I'm so happy to find that it exists. It is truly a magical place, as my fellow Yelper said. It really can't get much better. Please support this wonderful business. It is SO worth the drive, if you're out-of-town. If you have any doubts, just plan add a stop to the Discovery Museum for some great play and La Flor Michoacana for delicious ice cream, but you'll see that Whimsies alone is worth it.

It continues to be maintained nicely and is located nearby the highway. An anchor is Trader Joe's which is unconnected to the strips. Also Regal movie theater. Stonefield is a common place I shop when in town. Other places I have visited are Pottery Barn, Burton's Grill and Meezh. I have overnighted at adjacent Homewood Suites, I will continue to shop Stonefield in the future.

The store was divided into 3 main rooms with slight different thematic elements of decoration in each. Upon entering you have the choice to either go left or right; we choose the left and worked our way through the store. We noticed this artist meets rustic farm house vibe with the wood, glass, and wheat in one room paired with large abstract color field paintings and textiles. The furniture style seemed to be a blend between artistic mid-century to contemporary, comfortable, and functional pieces. Textile pattern options ranged from geometric, to Ikat, and modern abstraction. If you're a fan of different, you're in luck. We tried out a few cloth and leather couches which felt both firm and nicely crafted. The price points are relatively high however based on our interaction with the owner and employees, as well as testing some of the furniture, we could understand why. The pieces seem to be thoughtfully curated and of high quality. While we did not purchase any furniture on our first visit, based on this experience we'd consider doing so at a later point. FYI - There is dedicated parking for the store directly in front. Read the signs carefully since the lot is shared with other businesses.

There's a cute little farm outside with fresh produce such as peaches and corn. The first thing I noticed right away was the selections of jams, jellies, and sauces when I walked in their little 'market.' We were given a little 'tasting' of the different jams, jellies, and syrups they had. My husband was a huge fan of their Peach Ghost Pepper Jelly (a nice sweet peach taste with a kapow at the end from the ghost pepper), and I was in love with their Malbec Grape Jam - yummy on toast, on crackers, on cheese, etc. I also loved their Toad's Raw Honey, straight from the combs on their farm - wonderful and absolutely delicious, and probably the best honey I've ever tasted! We also purchased a Malbec and a Pinot Noir from their vineyard for some family and friends, and I know that they'll love it. I would highly recommend in anyone visiting the Orange/Gordonsville/Charlottesville area to make a trip out to BerryWood - Mr. Eric and Ms. Brandy are so sweet, and I am all for supporting local businesses that actually have great-tasting lovely products! I am definitely going to continue ordering honey and the jams/jellies from them on, forever and ever. Truthfully…read morethey should be the same Yelp page, but technically they are separate businesses, even though they occupy the same space. They have plenty of sweets here, as well as some 'farm' produce like eggs and a few veggies. But I'm a huge fan of the jams, especially the spicy ones. In fact they have a serving tray of like 10 jams for sampling, and it's hard to choose.
