TJ Maxx - I simply ask this cashier if I could keep the hanger. She was so rude & snatched my item out of my hand.

Manager Estella was genuinely the rudest manager I've ever come upon. First, as we were leaving the…read morefitting room she came upon us very harshly repeating "the fitting room is closed." Okay, I'll admit that was my bad. After waiting for 8 minutes and no one showed up, I helped myself to try on my two shirts. I figured the attendant was busy. So I will say that was partly my fault, although maybe they could take the time to print a sign so this mistake doesn't happen again. No one deserves to be ambushed simply for misunderstanding. Whatever, we moved on. Next, we headed up to the front line to checkout. We had one wreath we wished to purchase, although it was slightly broken. One of the stems was fully pulled down, although not broken. Not a huge deal, I can hot glue it, although that's going to take money and time, so I just asked for a small discount. Both workers at the front looked at it, agreed it was pulled loose, and said a discount should be no biggie. They called the manager, and as soon as Estella turned the corner, I heard her scoff and roll her eyes. Dramatic on her part, but I didn't want to let her ruin my night, so I ignored it. She comes up to the lovely attendant who was helping me and starts inspecting the wreath. Throughout the process, she actually pulled it more loose than it previously was. She repeated "yeah...no" about 5 times and asked if there was a different one to which I replied "no there is not, at least that we found." That response didn't make her happy. She then repeated, "yeah...no" twice more and said, "yeah, no, it's not falling off and it's just a little loose, so no discount." So she admitted it was loose, especially after she got her hands on it, dropped it, and walked away. I know this may seem minor, but customer service is a huge deal to me ESPECIALLY when it's a manager. I'm a server, and would never dare to talk to a customer like she did tonight, no matter how bothered I may be. TJMaxx, do better. Hire better managers, because I can see from my own eyes, and from your low rating that obviously it's not common to have a good experience. I hope this manager just had a bad day and isn't usually like this, because if she is I'm sure the employees are miserable having to deal with that.

The cashier couldn't figure it out despite me having the funds, so they called over their manager. This guy who I believe name was Art.. walks over and he is already visibly annoyed. He asks me "whats the matter that we needed him for". I explain my issue and the fact that I really needed the item ( a drink to take my medication ) and he rolls his eyes, tells me "my card is declining because Im broke"..? In front of several people in line behind me. I explain that that was incredibly rude and that was not the case. I asked them if they had apple pay and thats when his stench of alcohol breath hit me.. he leaned across the counter and told me that since my "card didn't have any funds on he was not going to waste his time with me today".. I nearly started crying and left without my items I needed. Had to go to Walmart. Avoid this location and the manager at all costs. In addition the store was incredibly dirty and barely stocked despite boxes being everywhere.

I couldn't find one, but I saw the sign for pOpshelf next door while leaving and decided to go in (first time ever), and they had it. It cost $2! They also had so many cute home decor items, holiday decorations, reasonably priced kitchen accessories, and even a section for food (which seemed pretty hip with vegetarian items and fancier snacks). For a low priced store, similar to dollar tree or dollar general, I would say this place is great! I will be coming back.

Anyhow I didn't base my review on that part. Why I rated this 3 stars.... ZERO customer service! It wasn't that there was a lack of employees, I counted at least 5! No one talked to me, no one greeted me when I entered, zero!! It wasn't busy either, there was a group of employees (3 or 4) by the entrance gathered and talking to each other.... not doing their job. And I walked by several employees while I explored the store. Also, you check yourself out... so another moment when there is no interaction. At least greet your customers... not sure why there's so many employees working at one time when no one is doing their job. I do appreciate that when you check out, they have paper bags!!! No plastic bags... that alone was awesome.
