I tried to schedule appointments for my three kids at the dentist on Friday, October 11. I called the office, but no one picked up. Then, I received a text from the office's virtual assistant, Sophia, who seemed eager to help. I explained that I wanted to set up three appointments, and Sophia informed me that they had slots available on Monday, October 14, at 12 PM, 12:30 PM, and 5:30 PM. I was relieved and quickly accepted all three appointments, thinking I had everything lined up perfectly. Fast forward to today--Monday, October 14--I walk into the dentist's office with my kids, only to be met with an entirely different reality. The staff informed me that the appointments I scheduled with Sophia weren't for today. They are actually for October 30. I couldn't believe it! It felt like I had just wasted my entire day, trying to juggle my work schedule and personal commitments around these appointments, all for nothing. What made matters worse was the fact that I had rearranged my work hours to accommodate the dentist visit. I could have gone to work today and simply taken another day off later in the week, but instead, I was left feeling like I had made a colossal mistake. The office manager told me that the virtual assistant "Sophia" is something new that they are trying out and they couldn't accommodate my kids today which only added to my frustration. It's one of those moments where you feel like you're putting in all this effort to balance everything in your life--work, kids, appointments--and then something as simple as scheduling a dentist visit turns into a major headache. I left the office feeling disappointed and upset. All I wanted was to ensure my kids got their dental check-ups without throwing my entire week into disarray. I won't be returning to this office. If they can't even get the schedules right, it makes me wonder if they're truly on top of their game when it comes to cleaning my teeth. I mean, scheduling is such a fundamental part of running an office, and if that's falling through the cracks, what does that say about the attention to detail for the actual dental work? It's a bit concerning! I want to feel confident that the people taking care of oral health are organized and reliable, not just winging it when it comes to appointments. It's just hard to shake off that doubt when you're sitting in the chair, thinking, "If they can't manage a simple schedule, how can I trust them with something as important as teeth?" In the end, it's about finding a place where I feel comfortable and assured that I'm getting the best care possible, and right now, that's just not happening here. If there was an option for me to give zero stars, that's what it would be.

I never have to wait very long in the waiting room. She is very thorough and you can tell her patrons really love her. The staff is great too. My husband said to me recently, "don't you think she's a little old to be going to a pediatric dentist?" I said I plan on taking her to Dr. Azin as long as she takes her! When my daughter was very young, she received stickers and a small toy. Now that she's older, she gets a toothbrush and floss! She learned that you don't have to fear the dentist (unlike me who had a long phobia of dentists, which I've since gotten over). My friend recommended her and I've recommended her to several friends. It's a rare find to find a really great healthcare professional. She respects her clients and I have nothing but praise for her and her practice. I think she might also have another location but we go to the Bay Shore office. I don't often give five stars but I just think she's awesome and deserves praise. I usually give reviews for restaurants but realized I could have also given a review for Dr. Azin. So here you go! Good luck as you research pediatric dentists. However, if she takes your insurance, it's a no-brainer. She is an excellent dentist.

Dr. Shor worked efficiently but still managed to spend time explaining the procedure. Because the doctor was so accommodating, my sis-in-law was able to get in and out of the office to pick up her kids from school.

Dr. Capone was the only…read moredentist I went to regularly because he was simply the best, always kind and walked me through whatever he was doing and how I could improve upon things without talking down to me. The new dentist, Dr. Shor maybe my least favorite dentist yet. I have a small mouth so naturally my mouth does not open as wide as some others and Dr. Capone and his hygienist worked with me on that but Dr. Shor basically yelled at me because it wouldn't open any wider for her while she was working on me after keeping me waiting for 30MIN to see her. She is also a bit unhygienic, blowing her nose with gloves on and then trying to get right back into my mouth without washing her hands and changing gloves. If it doesn't work in the food industry I'm sure it wouldn't be allowed in dentistry. Not only that but after having a cavity filled by her 2 weeks ago, my tooth is still sensitive and I can't chew on that side at all when I never had any pain before. Once she fixes whatever she did wrong on my filling I will not be returning, I may not even be returning for that.
