I have a well rounded experience with Drs who make a difference and those who don't. With saying that, I highly recommend Dr. Erik Sayles, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a doctor who makes a difference. He was on time, alert and attentive, extremely knowledgeable. Who also carries the best bedside manner and is friendly, compassionate, listened, intelligent, thought outside the box, thorough with exam, and thorough with suggestions and options to proceed forward, as well as, has great follow up to make sure you are well taken care of. He made sure that I was completely comfortable with all the decisions along the way.

The appointment had been set for six months! Then I got a nasty attitude and transferred to someone else to schedule another appointment. That was for today, May 8th at 5 p.m. I have attached two emails showing the time of the appointment. In the past three days I have been receiving emails and texts saying my appointment is at 4:15 but I never changed a thing, nor did I speak to anyone about a change. I spoke to someone today who said I could come then but I'd have to wait because there was someone with an appointment at that time. I refuse to come in now, as this makes no sense. *I* had the appointment at 5. I have shown you proof. Yet this is now a month of run-arounds with the office over an appointment which was set now 7 months prior.   This is unacceptable. It's not the first time I've had an issue, but this is twice in a month someone is just blatantly screwing up in the office. I hope this is fixed at some point, as I really don't want to visit this office ever again.

Had it done Friday morning, and was back at work Tuesday. If I was less of a weenie, I could've gone in Monday. The staff was very nice. I had an issue with my insurance, and the office staff took care of it. I never waited long at appointments, and they always called me back promptly. The main nurse who worked with me on the day of my surgery was absolutely lovely and put me right at ease. The office needs a bit of updating, but that didn't really matter to me. I found it homey; others may be turned off. Don't let it deter you, Dr. Berkley was incredibly competent, answered all my questions (a zillion) patiently, and didn't make me feel rushed. I even asked him why he chose this profession and if he liked it, and he had a great answer and didn't brush it off (no idea why I find that important, I just do). I think the only thing I would change would be to ask for a bit more time between the surgery itself and the take-home instructions, since I barely remember talking with the doctor when it was over. Ten minutes would have made a big difference. My follow-up appointment was with a different provider, Dr. Hakimizadeh, but after a moment of disappointment since I had some questions, it was fine. He was also quite nice. I would absolutely return here if I needed any other oral surgery procedures.

With the infection I have in my mouth caused by the surgery I had with them I would recommend finding a more reliable dental surgeon. Or at least one with more reliable secretaries.

I just wanted a filling that had fallen out in very front of my mouth to be fixed and ended up (the first time) having to leave because i had been there for THREE HOURS and they didn't know when they would see me (the whole time in the back in a chair jyst sitting there)..... so i left bc i had a babysitter watching my baby. So when i came back second time for this one little filling, i made a point to ask if they Wye running behind schedule..... wad told they Wye a little but that they remembered me and would make sure u got seen quickly...... that didn't happen. After 2 hours (again, in a chair in back.... and again i had to get yet another babtsitter) the dentist started to show up, and iut wad lime the only thing she wad interested in was trying to sell me on CareCredit for veneers! They did not do a good job at all! Why is it called teeth in a day when you don't get your final teeth for like a year? They literally kept me under sedation for way longer than they were supposed to. During a visit "Greenberg" said that everything will be worked out in my final set and I had to tell him that I'm in my final set! As he had no idea that I'm in my final set, he is not even aware of what's going on with his patients! He is a terrible person! I would avoid this place. I'm telling you you've been warned! He didn't place the implant properly so now I have to go through all these steps to try to get my mouth fixed and file malpractice against this facility, the people inside of it are awful people. He was still heavily medicated and tripped and stumbled his way out. I had to find a wheel chair on my own from the Yale office to get my sedated child safely to the car. Against my better judgement we took our youngest there too. I fully recognize that even using best practices there can be unwanted outcomes. When I expressed my concerns first to the nurse than the doctor that my child was reporting pain and was pounding on the arm rest to get them to stop or to acknowledge them and he was shushed and told to stop moving. Certainly there are limits to medication dosages and sometimes pain can happen. That is not the problem. Its the hubris and arrogance coupled with the gaslighting from staff. The reluctance to admit a complications. That is the problem. The doctor was better about it and had a reasonable explanation for every concern though was not apologetic/sympathetic that there were compications. The nurse was the real offender. Starting by saying my child was just being emotional. Minimizing this child's concerns and acting almost put out by my asking questions respectfully. Coastal has a nursing problem. Find another practice..
