After a nightmare contractor experience to begin, I was confident when I then hired Red Hammer I would be in good hands. While things started off well, they quickly declined and I was left with half finished projects yet I was out the full amount as if everything was fully completed and correct. Towards the end everything was rushed, so things weren't completed to the quality you'd expect for the price and some other items were simply not completed. I was told I would be reached out to when there was additional time to finish items, but never was. We had to cross over this strange little rickety bridge looking thing which isn't even really paved. Thank goodness my husband was in the car with me because it looked very sketch and I definitely would have thought I was in the wrong spot and turned around if I was by myself. He told me to keep going...and I did...and we arrived at Orlandini. The hilarious thing is they actually have a sign saying something to the effect of yes, this is really it! I cracked up when I saw it. The parking lot is humongous. it looks like a warehouse from the outside. It isn't particularly branded. I am just giving you the most detailed account I can so you know what to expect when you approach it because I was not expecting it at all. It's not unsafe or anything, it just wasn't what I anticipated and it threw me off. There is a normal glass door that we walked through to enter. Upon entering we were surrounded by tile. There are a few different sections; a front, a middle and a back. Someone said hello to us and let us know someone would be with us in a moment. We started perusing on our own. We didn't notice any particular organization method to how the tile was arranged in the store. Without any guidance we really didn't know what we were getting into outside of just seeing what we liked. We had four separate choices in our hands before someone was able to help us. We asked some questions and got some answers. He looked at the tile in my hands and immediately told me that we had some of the more expensive tile picked out (of course). I was already pretty attached to my top choices by that point so we asked for prices. We gave him the measurements our contractor took and he told us to give him a minute and then he gave us price points for each tile. What I really appreciated was that we could take the tile with us so we could see it in our home with our lighting and our paint, etc. That was huge! They took our information to ensure that the tile would be returned. If we didn't return it, we would have been charged for it. They told us to have it back in approximately 3-4 days. We wanted to keep one of them longer so we returned the other three and he told us it wasn't a problem to keep the 4th a bit longer. He also gave us a collection of grout samples to choose from. I know nothing about tile so that was unexpected for me. lol When we walked around Home Depot with the winning sample we got lots of compliments on it! One couple asked if we got it at HD. We told them no and referred them to Orlandini and they put it in their phone to head over. They have a much more expansive selection to choose from at Orlandini. Home Depot and Lowe's all have pretty basic stuff to choose from and not much of a selection. If you are looking to go out of the box I would highly recommend Orlandini. When it was time to order our (original) contractor called and gave all of the specs to the employee and then handed the phone off to me. I gave my credit card info and we were good to go! He called the (original) contractor when the tile was in and he went to pick it up for us. We had the perfect amount. There was hardly any waste. We didn't like the "pencil" our (original) contractor ordered (without us seeing it) and they let us return it which we appreciated. We couldn't return the one slab of tile we had leftover because it was a special order. It was on the pricey side but that was my own fault for having expensive taste. I do think it would be a good idea to have the tile arranged by price level so when you are walking around by yourself you have an idea of what you're getting in to. I guess they wouldn't luck out with people like me, then. lol. It would also probably be pretty difficult to keep track of that system with people taking tile in and out on a regular basis. The tile came in pretty quickly, was great quality and looks amazing in our kitchen! We are super happy with the finished product. My husband said it looks even better than he anticipated. Their hours aren't the most convenient for people that are working. They stated their hours are different because of covid. Fortunately I am working from home and my boss let me leave a little early so I was able to get there before they closed. But you will need to plan to get there before 4:00 because that's when they close. Covid protocol: masks are required. Since they aren't a big box store they weren't crowded (at least whenever we were there they weren't) which makes it easy to social distance from other customers. There were only a couple of people in there when we were and they weren't close to us. No temperature checks and I don't recall seeing hand sanitizer but that doesn't mean it wasn't there somewhere and that I just didn't notice. I recommend Orlandini for all of your tile needs. Shop small!

I had my brown bathtub refinished about 8 years ago by another company with the intention of having…read morethe surrounding 1950's tile replaced. I was very happy with the results and it held up well, looking like a brand new tub. Fast forward to now and both my budget and busy lifestyle didn't allow for a complete tile gut and redo. I've tolerated the ugly title during this time but never felt like I could elevate the bathroom and really decorate it the way I wanted unless it was updated. Unfortunately the business I used and was happy with so many years ago now had a new owner and shabby reviews. I like things done right the first time and didn't want to chance it so knew I had to find another contractor with this skill. Resurfacing is an art and apparently not a lot of people get into it into. Enter Bob and Standard Resurfacing found through Yelp. Although he was quite a distance away he was happy to correspond with me over email and give me a quote on my job based on pictures. Although I thought the price was a little high compared to my tub many years ago it was still reasonable. My intention was to co-ordinate the job when my lower bathroom project was complete so going without an upper level bathroom would be a non issue. That was 2016......... Sometimes life gets in the way, and I admit, I'm not the best with project completion..... Fall 2017 arrives and still no progress made in either bathroom. I made a promise to myself that before the end of the year this ugly 1950's would be a thing of the past, regardless of the inconvenience to us. So I contacted Bob again and was relieved that his price did not change. I was put on the schedule for a few weeks out. The morning of my appt Bob and his helper came prepared and dove right in. This was my first time meeting him as well as his first time ever seeing the bathroom in person. Not only does my tile go from tub to ceiling in the surround but completely around the room midway up, including around a vintage mirror and vanity. In addition to the tile were tile accessories that also needed resurfaced; towel bars, toothbrush and soap holders. It was a big job. But fortunately the tile and grout was perfect and in mint condition. There wasn't a flaw to be found. My bathroom was the perfect candidate for this type of process. Day one consisted of prep and priming. My showerhead and tub drain was removed. Other areas were taped off as I agreed to remove my toilet but because of a newish countertop installation I was unwilling to pull out the vanity. He was there a few hours and sent me pictures via text of his progress. Day 2 was the actual spraying. I was concerned about the smell and Bob was very conscientious with my concerns and opened a window and used fans. I also had concerns about my newly painted walls, trim, and cabinetry. He said although he would take great caution in taping off these areas that some overspray would be inevitable. After spraying he sent pictures showing a beautiful crisp white bathroom. Again he was there for a few hours. I didn't use the bathroom for another 2 days although if I remember correctly only needed a full 24 hours to cure. When I did finally go back in to put everything back I did find some remnants of tape and some surfaces felt rough while others smooth. I also noticed pitted areas in some of the grout and like Bob warned some overspray on my newly painted surfaces. I did bring these to his attention and he made arrangements to come back and polish the surfaces which was much appreciated. He also informed me that because the spray is high gloss that imperfections not seen before in the grout would be visible once sprayed. He did make good on his promise and came back and polished those areas. After polishing I didn't notice a difference in the pitted grout but you do have to look hard to see it and the transformation as a whole is night and day. Overall the experience was good and I would use this company again as well as recommend them. Bob was easy going and pleasant to work with. He always kept me informed and was quick to respond. While I still feel the price is a bit high, especially if you broke it down by hours (including travel time both ways) it was still worth it. I certainly would have never been able to update my tile with new in that time and price range. I'm glad this option was available. Going from speckled 1950's cream tile with a colored border to a fresh, clean, all white look made all the difference in updating this bathroom.

I called and left a message got a call back a few hours later from Bob the owner. He was very friendly and informative. Set an appointment that worked for my schedule that was a few weeks out. Bob called the day before to confirm the appointment and the next day transformed our pink tub into a beautiful white tub. This will keep us from having to renovate this bathroom for a few years.
