Unprofessional, Unlicensed, Stolen Funds, Terrible Work Quality, Nightmare Contractor…read more Everything seemed promising, we were excited to hire John T of Jet Construction and Remodeling. After one day of drywalling our basement, we had to fire him. His work quality was awful and he brought an inexperienced worker to "train" with our time, money, and quality of our soon to be finished basement. The majority of his cuts of the sheet rock were jagged and left wide gaps between seems. 3 out of 4 lights were cut so bad that the finished hi hat cover couldn't cover the cut hole. 2 of our outlet boxes were cut so poorly there would be no way to fix it unless replaced. After using 20 sheets of our sheet rock nearly half of it would need replacing. It only got worse from there. Having paid John the half deposit he refuses to refund us for the work quality he did and blames us for not giving him a second chance. If you look at the photos I don't think we're being unfair here. After avoiding us for over a week John eventually responded to our requests and then stated in order to terminate our contract we would need to pay him and his worker an additional days pay for "disrupted work". John has no legal written detail in his "contract" that states him legally being able to even withhold the remainder of our deposit nor having to pay any sort of termination fee. After this nightmare occurred we did what we should have down and looked into John and JET Construction and Remodeling and found out he still has an open dispute on the Better Business Bureau for a similar incident. We have filed our complaint to the BBB as well and are awaiting a response from John. We also checked into his License number PA-HIC 133710 and found out his license expired back in July 2019. So in the end of what was supposed to be a promising project John T of JET Construction and Remodeling did a terrible job the first day into his job, refused to take responsibility for his quality and worker, stole the remainder of our money, and then demanded more to reconcile the situation.
