Never have I seen such completely unprofessional behavior and an absolute lack of competency from any title company that I have worked with in the past. As a matter of fact, I have never given much thought to the particular title company we've used as I've never had any problems in the past 6 closings (all with different title companies). Gracy, however, has set the bar high on how NOT to do a closing. From the outset their demeanor was unprofessional. They would wait until the absolute last day to demand documentation from us, and when this was pointed out to them, they made excuses as to why they were behaving this way. When trying to discuss when would be a workable time for my wife and I to come and sign our papers, I received a VERY unprofessional response, chiding me for bothering them when they were already so 'busy with other closings' that day. The next issue arose when we finally received the HUD, which had the wrong amount on it for the sell price. They apparently had missed this incredibly important detail in the contract that they had in their possession. This SIMPLE issue then took THREE days to get resolved! Seriously! Now fast forward over a month after the closing and we find out that they screwed up the home warranty and put it in our name (we're the SELLERS!). I am absolutely baffled by the sheer incompetence of this group of people! The impression I get from them is that they really don't close on that many homes, so they really don't know what they're doing. Bottom line, if you can pick ANY other title company in the greater Austin area, DO SO! These people need to find new careers.
