My partner and I come from countries where such exploitative business practices are uncommon and even prohibited. A broker in Germany would immediately lose his license for such practices. An agency which requires a holding deposit should is dubious and not trustworthy. From my experience with Choices, I conclude most of the 5-star reviews are fabricated by themselves. Stay away from these guys as long as they do not refrain from such exploitative business practices.

When I approached the driver and explained he damaged my car he said "do what ever I want" and then walked off. Absolutely terrible behavior and not the attitude of someone I would do business with.

A quick knock to the door and they had the key in the lock. I never had the opportunity to even answer or call out. They could never seem to understand that the apt. was meant to be my home. From no doubt years of experience with this practice they were always quick with an answer. Again echoing Betty when they did give notice it was 50-50 if they would show up and once it was a full month later. I did not find them good with maintaining the apt. block however they were very prompt when repairs were needed within the apartment but maybe that stemmed from their need to snoop (for want of a better word). I wouldn't recommend them at all if you value your privacy, if you work at night, if you want to shower in the day... *Seems Betty deleted her post but I'll still give her a shout out - Betty ya coward!

They're very fast to provide a reason when caught but where is our privacy. I occasionally receive the 2 days written notice and they don't show up, or show up a week later. They found a buyer, but at this point everything went so wrong. A member of staff gave the potential buyer the key and let them enter the property unsupervised. We were unaware of this until we got a call from a neighbour stating the potential buyer had moved a static caravan into the rear garden by craning it over the roof. At this point the potential buyer had no insurance in place, they damaged the interior of the house and they were planning on living in the static caravan rent free before the contract was exchanged. The staff at Sherry FitzGerald did nit check the property to ensure this did not happen. You can imagine the extra stress this put on the seller as the interior of the property had been destroyed and there was a static caravan in the rear garden. If the sale had fallen through, I would have been in a world of pain as it would be up to me to put the house back to being sellable again. The directors of Sherry FitzGerald were concerned, not for the customer, but their business. We had nearly two weeks of stress and getting extra engineer reports completed. I would not recommend their services.
