Rodeheaver Hot Rod Shop - 2003 Mach 1

Rodeheaver Hot Rod Shop

(4 reviews)

Buddy of mine took his '17 GT350 there to get his transmission rebuilt. Weeks later it was…read moredestroyed. Reliable Porsche mechanic who we know took it apart showed us that this place got pieces from a junk yard and welded it. Serial numbers sanded off on some of the parts. Called rodeheaver up and asked them about it and they told my buddy to F off. Would never recommend this type of service to anyone.

I purchased 72K '03 Mach 1 in Nov of '18, brought it to a couple of shops to get assessed,…read moreeventually landing at Rodeheaver's (about an hour out of Pittsburgh). Tim (the owner) put it on a lift and took a look. He pointed out everything that other shops had mentioned (control arms, springs, shocks, sub frame connectors, tubular k-member, tie rods). Before I left, he had spent roughly an hour with me, talking about what could be done with the car, and how to go about it. My goal was to basically get the wHP up to 400-500, safely and stable. His suggestion was to first address all the suspension and stability issues, then add some gears, and a ProCharger. Before I left he pulled up the Summit Racing website, and priced out what it would cost to take care of phase 1, the non-power add stage, and I left with a quote in my hand. When I asked what i owe him for his time (2 other places charged me $100/$125), he said "Nothing, if you get the work done with me, that will be great, but if not, no big deal". I went home, thought about it, and decided to go with it. I added long tube headers (Kooks, catted hi-flow x-pipe, coilovers, Ford Racing drive shaft, new engine/trans mounts, steel brake lines, new brakes/rotors, flush/bleed brake fluid). A couple weeks later I dropped it off on a Saturday, picked it up week later, and the car was SOLID, ...... "from ZERO to HERO!". Tim told me bring it back between 500-1000 miles to have everything looked at, and tightened up if need be. At 500 miles I brought it back and had Tim install 3.73, new LSD, 31 spline axels, transmission/radiator fluid flush/replace as well. From time to time, I send Tim email asking questions, probably WAY TOO many questions, and he responds back quickly. Everything that Tim does is rock solid, from the actual work done to the car, to service, to salesmanship, just top notch, and is decent guy. He also walked me through the purchase of tires/wheels without any sales/service being done on his side. I plan on doing a coyote swap this summer with Rodeheavers. Oh, he also does custom dyno (mustang dyno) tuning, tuning done by him, not an email tune, bringing my Mach up 313 at the wheels, with no power adders (other than long tube headers). Last thing to add, Tim asked me what my goals were, and has never tried to sell me outside of those goals, and making several suggestions.
