I visited this salon about a week ago for a straight bob haircut. My hair is slightly wavy. When I…read moreleft the salon, I did not notice anything wrong with the haircut because my hair had been styled with a round brush. The entire service at David salon--including washing, cutting, drying, and paying at the reception--took only about 20 minutes. I was surprised by how quickly everything was done and, looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to how rushed the service seemed. I paid $85 including tip for the haircut. Based on my experience, I would recommend asking about the stylist's level of experience and exactly what is included in the service before booking. At one point, the hairstylist called over someone more experienced to show them her work and mentioned that I was "not her model." That comment made me uncomfortable, and I wish I had spoken up at the time. However, few days ago, I have my hair straightened with a flat iron. That was when it became obvious that my haircut was uneven. My advice is to choose your hairstylist carefully, especially if you want a precise bob or another haircut where the lines need to be very even. I would also suggest discussing your expectations and budget beforehand so you know what level of service you are receiving. It looks like decent haircut service at this place starts at around $120. Upd: you wrote "We would have appreciated the opportunity to address your concerns directly when you first noticed the issue." The unevenness only became visible a few days later when my hair was flat-ironed. I didn't notice it at the salon because it had been styled with a round brush. So there was no opportunity for me to raise it "when I first noticed" during the appointment - the issue wasn't apparent until later. That's why I left the review after the fact.

I've known Sunni from her time at Ahrittaum and was happy to see her start her own salon - she's…read moregenuinely talented and meticulous with her work, and I'd followed her because of that. But my last visit left a bad taste. Partway through my haircut, she stepped away for a moment, came back, and said, with clear irritation - "You done now? You gonna keep moving??" I hadn't been told I was moving too much, and I didn't feel like I had been shifting more than normal (just small adjustments, like scratching an itch). But after I scratched my itch, that really set her off. There was no heads-up, no "hey, can you try to stay still for me" - just a sudden sharp comment out of nowhere. It caught me completely off guard, especially since everything had seemed fine up to that point. After she lost it, I was very uncomfortable and afraid to move because she might lose it again. I noticed a few other reviews here mention impatience, and unfortunately my experience lines up with that. It's a shame, because the actual haircut was well done, but a comment like that, with no warning, isn't something I want to navigate again. Bottomline is, I won't be rebooking. Sunni is really rude and unprofessional.
