As a teenager, I did it all. Bleach blonde chunky highlights (remember those?) Did it. Jet black hair like Christina Aguilera the next month? Done. And straightening. Lots of it! Needless to say, my hair nearly fell out by the time I was 18. Now, in my mid-twenties, I was TERRIFIED to do anything that may damage it since it was finally back to its natural state. But, I still have a bit of my old wild side and felt that I was ready for a (small) change.. ..Enter Jenn Hale! I can't express Jenn's kindness and patience with me, not to mention her knowledge of coloring. I (hesitantly) showed her pictures of somewhat subtle celebrity ombres/balayage - think Rose Byrne. She showed me colors using swatches of fake hair, which are pretty cool and helpful if you have trouble picturing it, like me. I then added in that I basically wanted it to look natural - I literally said to her "like I spent a week in Mexico and my hair lightened up." Change of plans. She picked out an entirely different color - one that I would never have chosen myself but she was so convincing, I couldn't say no! And thank god I didn't! Even though I gave her such little direction, it was as if she read my mind! Also - she suggested placing the highlights further up than I had originally asked for so it would be less maintenance and look better longer.. She saved me money and another trip to the salon. Now that's putting your customer's needs first! Over six months later, and my hair is still damage-free and looks AMAZING. I'm thinking of going back soon because I have SO much faith in her, I feel absolutely fine experimenting now. Basically, whether you're a little hesitant (like me) and looking for a more natural look, Jenn can totally accommodate; and if you're looking for something over the top dramatic, she's completely capable too! It's all about what YOU want and that's what makes a great salon setting and hair stylist.

But then when I got there I was told by my artist that really was so sweet said that she wasn't sure it was going to hold which was really upsetting when I was told on the phone it 100% would. I know this isn't her fault but I really wish I was told the truth and that they would've had to seen my hair. And by the time it was the end it looked nice but something I could've done at home but right when I got home it fell out and I really didn't have time to ask for anything else either. We asked for her to blend her grown out bangs into the front of her hair as well as trim the back. She cut her bangs and a blunt angle, as well as cut in the most choppy uneven layers. I am SHOCKED that a professional could have possibly cut her hair. As for vibe, it was peaceful. The hair stylist gave a satisfying result according to my child and I for the hair style. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of communication on using hair spray. My child didn't know what to do in that situation and kept his eyes open. I needed to intervention and tell him to close his eyes. Those products could have got in his eyes and that would have lead to a very big issue with the hair stylist. A pleasant family time turned into a stressful time. As a business that has been around for many years, it was surprising that the female hair stylist don't know better. I don't believe the hair stylist even introduce her/they self but the hair stylist was tan and had highlights. I hope the business will make sure their staff get some training on how to communicate their customers better. No customer should come out feeling unease. Overall, I would have my family return as there were good past experiences.
