We went when the outside vendors were not there but let me make it clear.....it is a LOT bigger inside than it looks! I went in the door and turned to the right. There are a multitude of booths run by all different people. There are booths on both sides of the aisles, but I decided to just concentrate on the ones to my right, then come back to the ones on the inner circle. Then there was another room.......and another. Meanwhile, my husband was going here and there but I had specific things in mind to look for and he knew what they were. He ended up finding me two pieces. I never finished the third large room or the other two 'inner circles' before he was ready to go. And I couldn't blame him, we had been there nearly an hour and a half. They have restrooms and coffee/cold drinks available. I believe there is a small charge for the beverages. Some of the booths were jam-packed, so watch your step and if you go, plan on giving yourself plenty of time to look around! There is definitely something for everyone here, you just need to look around! There was one booth where everything was $1, and several others that were running 20 or 25% off off so deals are to be found. I am very happy that we decided to check this place out and next time we are in the area I'm sure we will go again. Maybe in the warmer months when the outside vendors are there.

When the weather is colder, it is held inside of Strawberry Square, which is where it was located on my most recent visit. My daughter and I found some really nice items. We both bought rings made out of sea glass, some bandanas for our pups, soaps, wax melts...you could easily spend so much money here! This one was a little smaller than I remember and I was a little disappointed that more food vendors didn't come out. There was only one vendor selling a very small amount of candy but we didn't see any other food vendors such as vendors that sell sauces, chocolates, dips, etc. Maybe next time.... Still a great place to check out!

There were people selling stuff out of their vehicles scattered around the parking lot. No designated area just hap-hazard and very sketchy looking. We parked and walked inside and right away we noticed that it was dirty EVERYWHERE. There were multiple empty spots where there might have been a vendor at one time. The lighting was terrible, and the place smelled as well. Everything looked outdated and most of the food vendors looked like they hadn't seen a health inspection in months. After a quick walk around the first building we headed back to our vehicle and couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough! We won't be going back.........EVER!

Parking is not an issue with plenty of spaces. In the back of the complex is the outdoor Flea Market area, which vendors vary on a daily basis. You'll find a little bit of everything, because it's essentially a giant yard sale. In the front of the complex are the sheds, which are literal sheds vendors can lease and sell from. The main complex is three connected buildings with various vendors. Morning Sun Marketplace, unlike some flea markets, has a wide array of dining options. Vendors included video game booths, toy booths, trading card booths, and many others. The selection was rather impressive. All of the buildings were clean and well kept. Our biggest surprise was the booth style collectible and antique center in the middle building. It was full of high-quality items including many retro toys and collectables. If Morning Sun Marketplace is your local flea market, it's a great place to stop in at regularly. We were here in the off season, so we can't speculate on how many produce vendors show up during the months with better weather. Overall, it was worth the visit and I would return.

Yes the sun is going down and I'm stuck on muddy ground…read moreI'm just tryin' to get through in muddy bottom blues. (Muddy Bottom Blues -Tab Benoit) So when a group I belong to decided to have our Mid-Winter meeting in PA Dutch country, quite a few of the members were excited because "we can go to the Mud Sale". What's a 'Mud Sale'? Well I didn't know so I did some research and learned it's a fundraising tradition among many volunteer fire departments in Lancaster County. The tradition goes back fifty years. You'll find them all over the area on weekends between late Winter and early Spring. And since so many of these auctions are held outdoors when the ground can be very muddy from melting snow, well they became known as "Mud Sales". We had a blast here! The Strasburg Auction starts at 8 AM, and you had better get there early or you'll have a real hefty hike from wherever you finally find a place to park. The auctions are spread through what resembles a fairgrounds ringing the Fire Station. Auctions are in maybe a half dozen buildings, inside maybe another half dozen huge tents, and at stalls criss-crossing the entire complex. What can you buy? Probably anything! The official auction schedule lists these categories: quilt crafts, small goods, new and used tools, crafts, antiques, groceries, furniture, collectibles, hay and straw, farm machinery, sheds, building materials, carriages, horses & mules, lawn and garden, and gift certificates. There are multiple simultaneous auctions, so as you walk through the grounds you'll hear many variations of the auctioneers' rapid fire delivery. Believe me, its immensely entertaining to sit in the rooms and behold the spectacle of these men speaking super humanly fast. We hung out in the quilt, home furnishings, tools and furniture buildings and tents. The furniture tent was super muddy, and plywood sheets were installed on the floor to make things easier, but the sheets were under muddy water. We watched the outdoor stalls where they auctioned off box lots of household things for like $2 or $3 a box. I saw someone bid on an upright vacuum that had an impressive tower of pre-owned dirt inside the central cylinder. This is a "must experience" thing to see if you are in Lancaster. Just don't forget to wear your boots.
