I am definitely someone who needs to build a rapport with my doctors so this was a major turn off from the start. But as someone who also hates finding new providers, I went back a few more times for cleanings. My most recent appointment was supposed to occur on a Monday morning. I was told that my appointment was canceled the Friday afternoon before (despite confirming it via text). I had already taken PTO to attend my appointment so to find out in the afternoon before they were closed all weekend was very frustrating. I was told the reason it was canceled was because my insurance had expired (I have a new insurance provider) and they decided to cancel it without getting a hold of me. Let's just say I will be looking for another provider going forward rather than rescheduling my appointment.

The fit of the crowns, it turns out, were not very good and allow bacteria up under some of the crowns. Not good and now I have to replace one as a result for an out of pocket cost of $1,500. I will add that now that I'm seeing a new dentist that I know the equipment and dental care approach of Dr. Sequeira is outdated and, as a result, substandard. In conclusion, I went to Dr Sequeira for several years to support a woman-owned, local business. My previous wonderful woman dentist retired. Now, I regret going because the care and capability was substandard and the quality of at least some work was poor quality (not because she is a local woman dentist). As a result, my dental health was jeopardized and I am paying twice for some crowns. There were, as it turned out, other problems with dental care here. This was the most expensive and miserable (remove and replace a crown) issue. I do not recommend Dr. Sequeira.

I've never been to a non-traditional doctor before coming to see Dr. Orna. I was having some…read moredigestive issues, that weren't serious (i.e. life threatening), but bothersome nonetheless. Making an appointment was easy, as she was flexible with my schedule. She has you fill out a form online before you come in so she knows what questions to ask you during your evaluation. She is very thorough, and will ask you lots of questions (past and present) as to paint a broad picture of your overall health. If you've ever been to see a talk therapist, it's a similar process: taking inventory. After inventory, she gave me some initial recommendations, and I provided me with some supplements. Being appropriately Portland, she actually makes her own herbal tinctures, which I was able to purchase directly from her. She also said I could make my own in the future, and gave me discounts on a recommended probiotic, so she's very budget-minded as well. She can also prescribe you "pharm" drugs and administer tests, as well as having access to affordable labs. In general she just makes the process of going to a doctor smooth, comfortable, and informative, without any of the woo-woo vibe you can sometimes get with naturopathic folk. Professional, easy to talk to, and affordable. Highly recommended!
