Thank you Sunflower for…read morefilling a need in the community - and for looking out for parents as much as out little people. This cohort of classmates were awesome- and our Sunflower facilitators were awesome- and my children loved every minute of getting to play in the Sunflower backyard playspace. This unique 8-week parenting class created community and definitely strengthened my relationship with my SO. I highly recommend this program for providing a safe space for parents to be able to empower each other, dig into their issues, and explore possibilities with like-minded souls. I wanted to be BFFs with every parent there, they were all so cool (and reminded me that I am not alone!). Just as my kids feel at home at Sunflower, so did I. How do they create such an exclusive, empowering space? intention, planning, respect, thoughtfulness - thank you for putting this together. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Whatever it is, count us in! P.S. Also, thank you Sunflower for sharing Feather Berkowitz's incredible and important 'Parenting Safe Children' workshop - which we only took because you recommend it so highly - and it is absolutely an invaluable resource. (If I could give zero, I would.) This was by far the most…read moreunprofessional experience I've ever had in a Goodwill. I picked up three blue bird figurines that were already on the floor, placed them in my basket, and before I could even turn around, an employee (I went back to secure her name) snatched them straight out of my hand and walked off to the back; no explanation, no apology, nothing. When I asked what was going on, manager George was at least polite, but his manager, Doris doubled down and told me they wouldn't be "bringing them out until tomorrow." Are you kidding me? You literally took items from a paying customer's basket -- items that were already on the sales floor -- and then refused to sell them? No attempt to make it right, no customer care, just rudeness and arrogance. It's one thing to pull items from the floor before customers touch them it's another to grab them out of someone's basket. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. If this is how this store treats paying customers, it says a lot about their management and training. I am attempted to never come back; but will definitely let others know to steer clear too. After years of coming here, I will never give them the satisfaction of never seeing me again. See you soon! I will be sure to say hi to you directly.

Goodwill was found in 1902 by Boston Minister, Reverand Edgar J. Helms. He took donations from…read morewealthy Bostonians and hired people who were poor and who could fix them. The items were then given to the people who worked on them or resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out". Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. This was my first time visiting the Delray Beach location. It didn't seem as nice or have as big of a selection of items as some of the locations in Palm Beach. I have noticed that Goodwill has put all of their Christmas items out. I guess it is a Christmas in July type of event. If you are in need of holiday items now is a good time to grab them. Nothing for me here today but it was still fun hunting.
