We had our son at the PLAY school for a limited time while we tried to figure out the best place…read morefor him. At the time he was 4 and developmentally around 2.5, needing a fair bit of support. We knew going into this that they had never had a special needs child in their program, but they were willing and we were grateful for the attempt. Unfortunately, once we made a sizable donation to the center, communication from the owner completely stopped despite multiple attempts (probably 6-7 outreaches via text/app/emails/in-person reminders) to speak with her from both my husband and I. Although they were moving locations at the same time, there is no excuse to not speak with honesty and integrity to the parents of the children you're serving. As special needs parents, this isn't the first or last time but it stung deeply. If you have a neurotypical kid, perhaps this is the setting for you. But communication leaves a lot to be desired and this place is certainly not for special needs children.

This cohort of classmates were awesome- and our Sunflower facilitators were awesome- and my children loved every minute of getting to play in the Sunflower backyard playspace. This unique 8-week parenting class created community and definitely strengthened my relationship with my SO. I highly recommend this program for providing a safe space for parents to be able to empower each other, dig into their issues, and explore possibilities with like-minded souls. I wanted to be BFFs with every parent there, they were all so cool (and reminded me that I am not alone!). Just as my kids feel at home at Sunflower, so did I. How do they create such an exclusive, empowering space? intention, planning, respect, thoughtfulness - thank you for putting this together. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Whatever it is, count us in! P.S. Also, thank you Sunflower for sharing Feather Berkowitz's incredible and important 'Parenting Safe Children' workshop - which we only took because you recommend it so highly - and it is absolutely an invaluable resource. We are beyond impressed with the West Boca Raton Kindercare! My son and daughter started in January…read moreand we have loved every day since we switched schools. My son was struggling, it was obvious that he desperately needed a challenging learning environment with day to day structure and Kindercare delivered. The teachers have gone above and beyond to get to know my children and make a daily impact. Ms. Jillian, Ms. Haifa, and Ms. Coreen all have been lovely. My son is now thriving because of the school's dedication to his learning and behavior. My children frequently come home excited to tell me what they have learned. The school has excellent workbooks for early writing and reading. I also appreciate the home worksheets that have been supplied weekly to help us be involved in our children's learning. The COVID-19 protocols have been top notch (Temperature screens, masks, daily wellness review, hand sanitizer upon arrival, pen sanitization at sign in/out, children only in the class room area etc.) All teachers wear masks at all times, I have never seen a teacher with a mask under their nose. As a health care provider I am proud to send my kid to such an obviously super clean environment. The directors are friendly, knowledgeably, passionate and dedicated to each child's success. The director Ms. Dina runs an excellent program with frequent communication. During a pandemic it is very easy to feel disconnected with your toddlers day to day functions but at Kindercare the teachers send frequent, relevant updates that truly keep us in the loop. I strongly recommend Kindercare

Most importantly, Amira goes to school every morning with such happiness and excitement, which means so much to us as parents. One of the things we appreciate the most is how the school helps children develop a healthy routine, structure, and clear boundaries. I recently gave birth at the boca Regional Hospital. The maternity section is inside the toppel…read morefamily place CONS: 1/ Lauren Austin, the OB nurse navigator, does not answer emails or call back - that's a shame as a representative of the hospital. We had questions before the birth and concerns about PPD after birth and not heard a peep. 2/ The check-in process is not very good. Check-in and checkout are at the same window so the line can get pretty long. God forbid you are in active labor! The front desk lady is very hard to understand 3/ Their nursery was understaffed one night and closed. Nurseries are so important to have, especially for new parents PROS: 1/ The nurses are amazing and super friendly. We had the pleasure of having Kerry, Lizbeth, Joanne, Caroline, Georgia, and Lisa as our nurses, and they made our birth and hospital stay really good from their care to their advice. 2/ The anesthesiologist was absolutely amazing!!! I was so intensely nervous, but he will visit you in the pre-operation room, tell you about the process, and answer any concern you may have. He did such an awesome job at putting me at ease, and honestly, the spinal did not hurt at all. He was so great at calming my nerves and with the whole anesthesia. I am so thankful for him. 3/ Dr Michael Fleischer was my OBGYN, and the csection went super smoothly. It was done in 10-15 min and was super efficient. The nurses did an amazing job with ensuring we took pictures and my husband cut the umbilical cord as it was such a fast process! 4/ The postpartum room was huge, and my husband was able to stay with me the entire 3 nights stay with a dedicated pull out bed. The meals were pretty good for a hospital, and the care overall was excellent. 5/ The nursery is an amazing asset and gave us much needed rest for us both. It's so important for mothers to have this 6/ The security at this hospital is amazing. Your baby is immediately given an identity tag and a tracker to ensure it is never taken out of the hospital. It will ring an alarm and stop the elevator should someone try to leave without notice. I had a c-section, and even though it was planned, there is not a lot of info about the process at this hospital, so here was my experience. I hope this helps nervous mamas out there. 24 hours before your surgery, you will come in to Toppel place for instructions and a blood test. This is to ensure they have your blood type and see any glaring abnormalities. They give you a sheet with instructions, some nutritional drinks, and a special antiseptic soap. they will answer any questions you may have then. Marie was super nice and patient! She also followed up with me a week after the surgery to see how I was doing. The next day you will come 3 hours before your surgery. They will lead you to a pre-operation waiting room. It is a shared room but separated with curtains. They want you to come in alone at first to ask you questions without any partners there. The partner will be asked to wait downstairs for 30 minutes or so. You get undressed and in an operating gown, and they will hook you up to an IV there and take your blood again. They will monitor you and the baby's heart rate. The partner will then join you and wear an operating attire. The anesthesiologist will come into your room and talk about the process and put you at ease. Once it's time for the surgery, you will go in alone at first for the spinal. The partner waits outside for this part and comes in when you are ready to go. Once the surgery is done, the partner will be brought to the back of the room to see the baby as it is being examined by a pediatrician. He will cut the umbilical cord and take pictures. Then they will bring the baby back to you, and the nurses will take pictures of you all. Then, the partner will go back to the pre-op room to do skin to skin while the obgyn finishes. You will join them both in the pre-op room, do skin to skin, breastfeed, or cuddle until your postpartum room is ready where you will be transferred for the rest of your stay.
