Suprise was, it started to rain when we parked, which is kind of a bad thing when you are trying to roller skate outdoors. Unzipped gardens employees suggested we grab a bite and come back as the forecast said the rain would clear up, and it did! We were able to get our skates and enjoyed an hour of skating. We didn't know what to expect from Polly Martini. We thought poor service may be the norm in this industry. We were wrong. So wrong... We will never use anyone else for our parties from now on. We had ~40 people for a casual house party with around 14 different entrees/dishes to be served, buffet style. Booking the service was efficient and professional and Polly called to confirm everything the day before the party. The day of, we were already behind schedule (there was an unfortunate incident with a mandoline slicer) when Polly's guy showed up. Tyler came in exactly on time, strapped on an apron, and started preparing and plating the dishes like he had been working in a Michelin rated kitchen all his life (this opinion was from my co-host who actually was previously a chef in a Michelin rated restaurant). He explains each step in his instructions why he wants students practice certain move; meanwhile, he also encourages students to challenge some advance techniques making sure students won't get injured while do so. As parent watching the lesson aside, I also learned how to skateboard a bit by watching Coach Soloman teaching my daughter. Lol My daughter loves to go to Coach Soloman's skateboard class. Quickly I could do my first kick turns, drop into light banks and do wide turns into quarter pipes. Then I got into steep banks & some transitions, and worked on my ollies, fakies, perfecting balance and polishing steep turns. Finding Suzanne felt like divine intervention - As I imagine most people who have planned a wedding might know, it's A LOT of work. And while my fiancé and I had opted for a relatively small scale event, we were definitely feeling a little out of our depth when it came to figuring out exactly what we needed to do to bring it all together. With Morningstar, we were able to select an a la carte package that included planning meetings and day-of support. We basically wanted someone to give us a checklist to make sure that we weren't making any event-planning newbie mistakes, but we got so much more. Suzanne took several calls with me to go through every detail of the wedding, and in hindsight I can appreciate how that upfront planning led to a smooth and enjoyable event. She also provided great suggestions for how we could engage and entertain our guests, and I'm glad that we took her advice (our guests had a wonderful time).
