While this place is pretty small and the selection is pretty limited, they offer many classes from expecting to new moms to all kinds of classes for babies to toddlers! They also host the local LLL (La Leche League) meeting once a month on Saturdays. Since the pregnancy and now with an almost 1-year old, I've taken the new moms class, the Inchworms class for babies up to 12 months, and Tot Gym for the more mobile babies. I've also bought an umbrella stroller as well as several books and toys. They also have an open gym time for drop-ins and tire out the little one(s) in their small gym. The ladies working there have been amazing and very knowledgeable on the products sold at their shop. I will miss this place when we move away in a few months...

The lady that lead the group was educated in child development and gave us advice and had activities for the kids to do. I looked forward to going every week. They had a lot of fun looking other classes but I wasn't able to join. There is also open gym which I brought my daughter to a lot. It's perfect for a rainy or snowy day when you need to get out of the house. They rearrange the toys and put out different items periodically to keep it interesting. They have a punch card that makes each visit slightly discounted. Lastly, they have the store area. This is a little pricey but the stuff they have is really nice. They had a wide selection for the space they had available. They also had a little table where the kids could play with some toys that they sell. One thing that impressed me was they have a donation area. So if you have left over formula or other items you can bring them and put them on a shelf in the back for a mama who might be in need. I have since moved away from Rhode Island and had a second child and I miss this place so much!!

I wish I got her name because she was incredibly helpful. She gave us a gift bag with some details about registry info, information on all the car seats & strollers, and just was able to manage the store all by herself dealing with multiple customers as they JUST opening one busy Saturday morning. Idr her name but she was amazing. Flash forward to just recently when we went in, now in our third trimester and wasn't even GREETED at the door by anyone. There were two employees working, one younger and one older woman with dark short brown/black hair. When we asked about the Nuna car seats, the older woman with the short black hair didn't even want to give us the time of day. We were looking for more information about it and she just told us that the Nuna car seat they have on display is the only Nuna car seat they can sell or something like that. She didn't come over and offer us a product demo or nothing. And the store was EMPTY. It was just me and my wife there. Instead, her and the younger employee was too busy trying to order Starbucks from next door. We did end up spending some time in the store checking out clothes & whatnot and did walk away with a $60 sleeper, but neither employees tried to help us in anyway shape or form and we were there for a good half hour. Granted, it was towards the end of the day, but this was a complete 180 from our previous experience here. I will say this, Mod Mama still tends to be the best spot in RI to grab baby gear & clothes but whoever doing the hiring needs to take a hard look at their employees because some of them can care less about the customers! Please take appropriate action! Being new parents is scary and having someone showcase & demo all the nice brands out there is sooooo nice to have locally. Other recent reviews mention the same sorta customer service, I just hope it doesn't stay like that.

It has been 3 months since I received…read moredelivery of it and because of the high density foam used in the cushion it is nothing like the one in the showroom. I found out recently that the one on the showroom floor had been there for over 10 years! Even the manager said it's a very hard share and nowhere near representative of what you will receive upon delivery. I have a bad back and Bone degeneration in my spine. This chair was so uncomfortable I couldn't even sit on it without using multiple pillows and blankets under my butt! I finally went to the store, saw a manager in person, and they refunded the Riley Ash chair and I used those funds to purchase the Trevor recliner, which arrived today. It hasn't even been broken in yet and it's more comfortable than the Riley Ash chair was after 3 months. So my advice to you is when you go to the store, ask the salesperson how long the display has been on the floor and what the break-in period is, and what it should feel like when it's being delivered. What is on the sales floor is not representative of what you will have delivered unless you buy from the cash and carry room.

There is a tear on the back of the couch that the cushion rest against(on the seam). I reached out to the warranty people and like before they said they couldn't do anything about it. I went to the store. They have started working with a new warranty company. They told me to try and see what happens if they could help. I reached out, they had my info in there system... according to them they denied my claim !! And it says they fix tears. What is the sense of having and/or buying a warranty if it's going to get denied. My warranty is up this September. I'm so done with this. This is the first time I had to put in a claim. This is ridiculous. People don't waste your money on the warranty/goof proof because it seems anyway they can get out of fixing they will!!!

Not even a nod that a living human person has entered the building. Which probably is why I then shop in Just Ducky with a less-than-ducky attitude. The store merch is just okay. Definitely not "upscale" or "top notch," as others have said. Lots of GAP and similar brands. The last time I was in, there was a Mini Boden display near the front that seemed promising, but upon closer inspection the clothes were faded and pretty well-worn. Some of the items are also really over-priced. There was an older model BOB stroller (before the more sleek, contoured design came out) for $199. I actually took a double take when I read the price tag. You can buy the newer version on Craigslist for the same or less. I did not find a pot of gold sitting in the carriage so I'm not sure what got factored into that price. All that said, they seem to do a good job of staying relevant to the season, which I'm sure is not that easy to do. This month, October, they have an ample selection of Halloween costumes, many of them in very good and even brand new condition. Consignment stores are usually hit or miss and sadly for me this is consistently a miss.

I WANT to support local, in these days of everyone buying toys from Target and Amazon. I want to support small businesses in my community so they are there for years to come. Biggest issue in both locations is customer service. I have mostly had interactions with a blonde woman. I say this again to be constructive, this person does not smile, is not great at interacting with kids. I have had experiences where my kids knock something over because yah know...they are kids and this person seems so stiff and uncomfortable with kids. Generally the vibe isn't friendly. This is a children's store. No getting to know the customer, smiling, thanking them, or a "have a nice day". Selection of clothing has little price variety. It's all super high end. I understand margins for selling kids clothing must be tough but items are averaging $30-$40 I guess if you are buying a gift ... but as a parent it would be nice if they had some variety. Toy selection at both locations is great! They have variety and some really cool stuff. If I have a birthday party I like to take my kids to get something there. Except...every time I go, I leave feeling my feathers have been ruffled. Maybe I'm just triggered now TLDR: Unfriendly vibe, high end clothes, great toy selection.

So I emailed the owner before I made my one hour trip to Warren, RI for a stroller. I confirmed her hours and that she still had it the day before. I did leave out that I was driving an hour, didn't think that info was needed. I arrived to a beautifully decorated store, I have to say it's really nice inside and looks very upscale. I checked some of the clothing out and prices, everything was in pretty good condition but a little over priced for my taste on used clothing. I then approached the owner about the stroller I had emailed her about and she was like "Oh the Quinny, yeah, I was just about to give that back to the owner. It won't fold and I can't sell it like that". So you couldn't just shoot me an email and save me the trip; I mean seriously, that's the right thing to do. I guess that common courtesy never occurred to her. The stroller wouldn't fold, we didn't know if it was broken or she just didn't know how to fold it. The stroller itself was in really raggedy condition anyway. She did mention on more than one occasion that it had been there since January when she opened, wasn't selling, and that the owner just told her to sell it for whatever you can get for it. We offered her $75 less than what she was asking for a four year old beat up, stained up, stroller with a chipped up and banged up frame that wouldn't fold. She refused and said that she needed to talk to the owner fist. Either way, pending what the owner said, she said she would meet me half way into my trip to deliver it. This was before she found out I was an hour away. She did email me a day later and tell me the owner came in and folded it up no problem so it was all good. She never did offer to drive it thirty minutes one way like she originally said. I've since found one in much better condition for just about the same price. Luca boutique is over priced, even their uppababy stroller was over what the going used rate is. Maybe because the store looks fancy the owner believes it's ok to overprice used items. The owner doesn't know what she is doing and is clearly new in this business. I sadly don't recommend Luca boutique.
