Only 1 star since you can't leave a zero star. Had a roof put on and continue to have leaks. It is a fight to even get them out to fulfill their warranty. Installation is completely incorrect for the roof type (flat roof). Roofcrafters decided on their own to install 3 tab shingle without any ice and water shield on a flat plank roof and now I continue to have leaks where the nails popped through (as if they didn't know). I can't get them to come and even fix their mistake. Stay away from this company. Find a more reputable company with more value for the money. read more

They had a nice receptionist that just started that tried to help but they not care enough to come to line and answer my questions. Please do not call ROOFCRAFTERS OF SAVANNAH SC/GA for any of your roofing needs. I contracted with them in December, 2019 for a compete new roof. I had problems from day one. They miscalculated the measurement for the number of shingles needed and had to do a revision. They forgot to include the flat TPO section in the contract so I had to pay an additional fee. During installation I received a letter from their supplier threatening to put a lien on my property because they were so far behind in paying their bills. It took over a month to resolve that problem. They completed the shingles section and when they finally came out to do the TPO on my deck I discovered that the material they were ready to install on my deck was not suitable to walk on. They did finally install another product on the flat section that you could walk on. I bought the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty which covered the installation for 25 years. It was my understanding that it covered the shingles and there was a separate warranty for the flat section. About 2 years ago a buckling section appeared on my deck. I called to have it repaired and this resulted in GAF refusing to cover the repair as an inspection determined that Roofcrafters did not use a GAF product so it fell under the installers warranty. After over a year of constant phone calls and getting no satisfaction I was finally told that the material they used only had a 2 year warranty and It required a yearly maintenance procedure. Therefore, it was now out of warranty. I was told they would give me an estimate on the repairs and I said fine to send me an estimate but was not going to pay anything because I was misled about the product. I have not heard from them since. As a final note I called to have gutter guards installed and was told that my gutters had not been reinstalled properly after the reroofing and I needed to have a roofer come out and reattach the gutters properly before I could upgrade to gutter guards. Absolutely AWFUL. It took them weeks to come fix our pipe leaking on our roof. They were here for less than 30 minutes to fix it. And when they "fixed" it, We paid $950 for it to still leak. They came out again after we called multiple times with no answer. here again for less than 30 minutes. (It's under warranty) It's STILL leaking. They have horrible communication skills, clearly cannot do their jobs either. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Currently waiting for them to call back and fix it for a THIRD time. Useless. read more

Roof was "done" end of 2014, still dealing with issues in 2018. First they came up from Georgia to Tampa "completed" the job the same day. They were still working while the sun was setting, it was DARK when they "finished" no one returned to inspect the work. My husband called no response. Five months later the same card used to pay for the roof was used at a building supply company in Georgia, in the tune of almost $1500. Contacted Dave voiced concerns via text 7 months no reply. Didn't get a reply until i called and left messages on their fb page and at the office. Set up a date for him to come out and look at job they did, they gave us a date , no call no show. He came out mid December he didn't even go on the roof, matter of factly stating his guys did this and this like he was there. We showed him 3 things, one off which he stated had nothing to do with the roof (my husband had that fixed 2 days later). The other two things seemed very minuscule to him he was like "oh that's nothing won't take long to fix that, give me to the second week in January." Ok March 30 still nothing contacted him again via text no response. Again on April 12 where i stated "from his silence I guess was ok with me outsourcing the work and he fit the bill" and he finally replied with "Yes mam, You get the work repaired we will pay the bill, we are not set up in Tampa yet. Sorry for the inconvenience" his exact words i have all messages including pictures. It wasn't a problem for roofers to travel to Tampa to do the roof however it's a problem for them to travel to fix their mistakes. September 7th I'm driving in Tampa I spot one of their trucks , look on fb they have a Tampa location. One would think he would've let us know and/or call to see if we got it taken care of. I contacted him again sent him pics told him I see there's a Tampa location now would he send someone out, absolutely he replied. September 20 still nothing so i text once again with no reply. I then called the office. Dakota came out to assess the situation. Dakota and another guy came out on the October 13 to "fix" the problems and were unsuccessful. Again I messaged Dave, dismissive as usual no reply. Dakota stated he would return on Wednesday, Wednesday came no call no show, just like his boss. October 25 still nothing from anyone. I guess that runs in this business say one thing do another or in this case nothing. I've tried giving the benefit of doubt, however right now im fresh out of those. Excellent customer service, what a joke they seriously need a new motto! We're stuck with jacked up edgings/trim whatever it's called the entire house. And a jacked up enclosure ( Dakota tried to say that it wasn't done when the roof was "fixed" because Dave told him even though neither of them were there. Dave has been to our house twice, first time in Oct/Nov 2014 second time December 2017. You would think if the enclosure was already like that he would've noted it. Dakota also stated it's just old and needs to be replaced. Funny thing the side where they didn't have to repair and remove any boards is still flushed to the roof and aligned. Save yourself a headache and keep your hard earned money go elsewhere! Here are pics of the "finished" product. The pic where you see a gap is how it looked after roof was put on. The pic of the enclosure where they didn't have to replace boards, you can see it's still flushed to the roof and aligned inspite of it's age. Was contracted to fix roof based on inspection while purchasing our home. 7 years later as it was inspected, exact same issues were present with inspector noting poor workmanship causing leaks and a leak that was supposed to be fixed with flashing last time has no flashing installed so leak remained. Andy at roof crafters indicated that since I believed the work had been done and did not hire an inspector to go behind them to observe these deficiencies within 5 years, they are under no obligation to repair or complete the work they were paid to do 7 years ago. Bottom line, documented improper install by independent inspector, flashing that was in original inspection and one of the main issues they were contracted to repair was never done resulting in water damage but "I'm sorry sir" happy to come out and have you pay us to do it again, trust us this time. Also had to get a copy of the check they cashed from prior closing attorney before they would acknowledge they had done the job at all. No record of my property on file until then. That doesn't sound shady at all. They stand behind their work? I would advise no one to stand under it. Unfortunately, not all roof leaks are visible in the living space and their "nothing lasts forever" reply is a cute line when they failed to actually install the thing to prevent it. read more

RoofCrafters just finished a new 50-year, architectural shingle roof on a former rental house in Richmond Hill that we are now remodeling to put up for sale. We solicited three companies to bid this project, and Roof Crafters was the low price offer. The communication with both their office people and the construction manager on the job was superb. They stripped the old shingles, replaced rotted plywood, and put on all new shingles and ridge vent in one day. The house is transformed and looks beautiful. Excellent communication with job manager who was always on time every time. Crews cleaned up the yard very well. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a better roof! They do not keep their appointments. Fred McBride tried to sell me a rood I did not need. I had gotten an original quote for some repairs on my roof almost a year prior. Not even a year later, he tried to charge nearly 8 times the cost of what was originally quoted the previous summer. Im not sure I understood the discrepancy. The quoted repair he gave me sounded like a complete roof replacement. When I called him, he was vague and when I asked him about the discrepancy he said the guy that previously quoted me was fired. He promised to call me back with a more reasonable quote, but never did. Shady people. Several second opinions from other companies assured me my roof was in good shape and needed minor repairs. read more

This might be long so if you don't want to read it all just pick up the phone, call and ask for Dakota Humbart, If he's gone to work for another roofing company find out where he went and call that place because Dakota was awesome to work with. My situation is that I'm 300 miles away and trying to sell the house. We had a buyer but the inspection revealed that we had some major exterior problems so we got a contractor to do the job. Next thing I know the contractor calls me and tells me we need carpentry work and "he's got a great guy for the job". The carpenter ends up charging us $9k for a job that should have been around $1,500 but I'm stuck because we're halfway through the job. So even though I feel like a minnow in a shark tank I pay the carpenter. Next thing I know the contractor calls and says we need a new roof and "he's got a great guy for the job"... they give me a price and it's way overcharged. The contractor is pushing very hard for this roofer because it's slowing down the job but I'm really feeling taken advantage of so I get 3 quotes for a new roof. Long story short is that Dakota not only gave me a good price on the roof, he put up with a contractor that was looking for any fault he could find so he could charge me more for delays. Dakota went out of his way to make sure the job was done correctly, on time, and on budget. Dakota even called me back after a big storm went through and said that he knew I was out of town so he went by the house, climbed up on the roof and inspected for any damages. Then, to further blow my mind with a "wow factor" of great service he mentioned that the storm had blown down some limbs and he would be happy to have his guys come by to clean up the mess... WHAT???? Professional, Honest, Dependable, Caring, are all words that describe Dakota Humbart. If you need roofing work done this is the only guy in Savannah to call. read more
