Our roof had just marked over 20 years old and was looking quite worn. My wife requested quotes from 3 roofing companies who have worked in our area and were recommended by our neighbors. Dale Shoemaker is one of the owners and came to our house to evaluate. He went on our roof as well as into our attic to see if there was any major damage or possible issues due to hail or wind. While one of the people who quoted said there was wind damage, Dale was very honest and said some of the roofing tiles were extremely worn as shown by the amount of particles in the gutters. What I really liked about him is that he said "honestly you can probably get 1-2 more years on this roof without any issues". No hard closing. He offered us extended warranties and could start as soon as we received approval from our POA. His price was reasonable and in the ballpark of others. They take credit cards, but also charge an additional 3% for that service. Brody from RGR called my wife once we had an approval to set up the job. The first thing they did was deliver the materials to our home and drop it on a pallet. Once they started the job, there were between 8-10 workers onsite. In one day, they fully demoed the roof, repaired any damaged plywood, layed down the protective layer and started applying the roof. They were completely done in less than 1 and a half days. The second day, they finished and detailed some of the corners and overhang. They went around the yard with their large magnet to collect any loose nails. The roof has not yet been installed. The presale process has been very positive: informative, educational, and timely. This is not my first rodeo, and his answers to my questions were spot on. He and his son are tech-savvy, which helped me fully understand my situation and options. Also, he appeared to have more experience with some of my more esoteric requests. I'll update this review based on the actual installation, which is scheduled to be done next week. Which is a great response to 1st contact to the time of installation. (Less than 1 week. Happy to report that I recently had a reason to write my first trade reference in the almost five years I have lived in the Bluffton area. I was impressed with everything about Real Good Roofing. They responded to my inquiry within one day and two days later came out on the Saturday of the 4th weekend. With only two weeks after the major wind and rain event, I never expected this level of service, particularly on a holiday weekend. Justin immediately got up on the ladder and inspected our house, as well as powering up a drone to capture more input. He was able to draw conclusions more quickly and with a deeper set of facts than any roofer I have worked with in the past. my review is way overdue and this company deserves more than 5 stars. I met Dale and son at a home-garden show in savannah. I don't live or work in savannah but have a house in which my Roof was damaged by the last hurricane. from many roofers that I've met, i felt comfortable to go with Dale. He provided me with a customer's name that works in the same bldg as me up in Wash DC area to check his work. His customer validated His work and I was comfortable to hire his Crew. They did the work without me present in Savannah. He sent before-after pictures, and kept in touch. His payment system was easy and I'm very happy with his work. I was able to drive down 2weeks later and was amazed how my new roof looked. There were no mess left in the yard. Sidewalk and driveway was swept and cleaned. If you cant decide who to select as your roofer, go with this company. Trust me... he took great care of me from 8hrs away! read more

I used these guys in July for a very minor roof repair and loved them. In September I experienced major damage due to Hurricane Helene. A 100+ foot tree basically fell across the front of my home and yard, doing damage to the roof. I immediately called Dale, who I honestly consider a family friend now after his assistance in July! He got out to my house ASAP to do up an initial quote/assessment of damage. But my reason for this review is how he and Sam handled the insurance claim. Dale agreed to meet with the adjuster the day he inspected my house and went over all damage with a fine-tooth comb...not just roof damage. He took pictures of everything (which was helpful to me because I currently live in VA). Real Good Roofing uses the same assessment software as insurance companies, so he loaded ALL the damage found (fence, siding, landscape, electric, etc.) into his own software and submitted this to insurance. Because the software is the same, my insurance company did not ask a single question or fight anything...they immediately issued payment! I really did not have to deal with the insurance company at all...Dale and Sam literally took care of everything and CC'ed me on all correspondence with State Farm. They even caught a major error (wrong grade of roofing material) made by the insurance company, so they went back and got this adjusted for additional payment. Then, when they actually completed the job and removed portions of the old roof, they found more extensive damage than anticipated. Again, they submitted for a supplemental direct to insurance and I was paid within about 5 days. This was the first insurance claim I have ever had to file in my entire adult life and these guys made it so seamless! They are true honest professionals. Also, they have the best "business interface" of any contractor I have dealt with in Savannah. They have a beautiful program that uploads real time photos as they are doing the work, their quotes and invoices are through a professional program (not a fly by night shady under the table receipt on a sheet of notebook paper), and their written correspondence and communication with both me and the insurance company was top notch. Well, I have purchased many roofs over the years from Ohio to Florida. I am a property investor and must deal with numerous contractors. Justin at Real Good Roofing, totally impressed me. He was always PROMPT and POLITE. My roof quote was professionally prepared and through. He is the 1st FAA pilot to use a drone on one of my property's. I was excited to watch over his shoulder as he showed me the damage and he was able to spot my leak issue. I highly recommend him to anyone who values their personal time and money. His quote was the exact middle of 4 bids, and I never had to wait. In fact one roofer took 4 days just to send me an email price / No Bid!
