They cut 1/2inch into my brand new carpet, unprofessional cuts and wrong nails used on baseboards and did not poss adequate tools to attach baseboards to wall, I had to provide aircompressor.. Floor planks cut to short and not cut to threshold and or crooked. Caulk spread on floor, had to stop them from caulking baseboards. Marked all areas of repair they just remove markings and snuck out of house. 300 sq took 3 days to lay. Day two of the job Toni Bennet from ducks roofing and construction, which I was let to believe was owner, came to inspect the job. Only saw him leaving through my kitchen window. Once saw mess called Toni Jackson never answered phone. Called Toni benett from ducks roofing and construction told him the situation told me he will be by when I came back from out of town. I contacted them and scheduled a day for them to come out to assess the damage, discuss the rebuild and most importantly help with the insurance claim. David and Jesse came out the same week and were extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the entire process. They showed me pictures, explained next steps and brought ideas that I wasn't even thinking of. Within a few days they began the process of ordering kitchen counters, the countertop and flooring. They provided me with samples and floor plan ideas. Jim, Jesse and David were great at communicating every step of the way and answered questions with care and patience. This review is for our vacation home in Beaufort, SC…read more At the end of the day, I'm satisfied with their work. Unfortunately, for me, it was a bumpy ride. One of the reasons why I hired JW to replace our roof is that there was soffit and fascia damage, and their proposal included repairing the damage along with the new roof; that part went well, and I am pleased with it. They sent me a .jpeg of the permit, which they instructed I print out and post in a front window; I liked that. They were responsive to my queries before work began, and I appreciated that too. However, I was unaware that the City of Beaufort requires that their residential building inspector visit the site while the work is being done to ensure that the work is proceeding according to code. And that turned out to be a headache. I wanted to have the work completed prior to July 4 when family would be visiting. Unfortunately, the only available time they had prior to the 4th was the previous Saturday; the residential building inspector does not work on weekends, and I was unaware of that (and per JW Roofing, neither were they, which puzzles me). Had I known this, I would have waited another week or so for the work to be done. Not ideal timewise for me, but the process would have gone much smoother. But when the inspector did come out the following week, he found some shingles which were not properly installed. Consequently, JW sent the crew lead back out to meet with the inspector and fix the improperly-installed shingles. That went well enough, and the inspector "passed" the roof on his second inspection. Also, when the crew arrived to replace the roof, there was no indication that they were from JW. The trucks were not marked, nor was anybody on the crew wearing anything to indicate that they were JW employees (in a later conversation, JW stated that they were employees). I was disappointed that nobody on the crew was fluent in English nor was I directed to a bilingual dispatcher or some such. I've addressed all of this with JW, and they appreciated my feedback. Ultimately, I'm okay with the work done. They did clean up the site when they finished the job, and that's a plus. If you want to hire JW, please ensure the following: Check with your municipality, county, etc. to determine what their codes/regulations are for a roof replacement. If a building inspector is required to visit the site while the work is in progress, ensure the work is done on a day that the inspector is working and can visit the site. Ensure that while the work is being done that you'll have access to someone you can speak to in a language you understand.

The knowledge, experience, and integrity they and their GAF-certified crew bring lays to waste the adage that 'everyone experiences at least one bad roofer in their lifetime.' We no longer have to with Whipple Roofing. Stan is always (!) one text, email, or phone call away (which is more than I can say about my insurance company regarding my April 26 hail storm claim). I told a Liberty Mutual manager it's embarrassing when the roofer becomes your source of policy information and not your insurance company. Yet also your gift as Stan is more than willing, and capable to kindly, and with great patience walk you through this confusing and challenging process. In the end, yours is an aesthetically and structurally superb roof covered by a consumer-oriented contract and warranty that I suspect is superior to this area. Also, as Stan says they aren't going anywhere (even my last roofer, Home Depot, has quietly folded their roofing division). I believe him and am thankful to the Lord they aren't.
