These pos's towed my car and caused 1,888$ worth of damage. When contacted after I had my mechanic confirm it was due to improper towing they denied everything and said they aren't liable for damages. Without going into too much detail, let's just say that I haven't had the best luck as of late... My luck totally turned around when I found Ron's Auto Repair Shop while driving from Austin, TX all the way to Miami, FL. My bumper was almost completely dragging by the time I made it to Ron's. From the first employee that held the door open to the receptionist and my new friend, Steve, everyone was nothing but cordial and helpful. Being a young woman walking into a repair shop, one must always be wary of sneaky charges and unnecessary repairs- none of that here. The employees were sincerely dedicated to getting me back on the road as soon as possible. (Note: they also receive scrap metal) It's not often I take the time to actually write a review on Yelp (although I do use it plenty to review anything from food to auto repair) but I had to put in a good word for these guys! It also helps to mention on the check-in sheet that you saw their great reviews on Yelp! If I'm ever in this area and need a repair, I would go out of my way to make it to Ron's for the excellent and speedy service. read more

Ron's auto is a total rip off! They make up charges that aren't even real and charge as much as they possibly can. My husband was in a car accident and they had absolutely no understanding, tried to charge me $3,000 to leave the totaled car while I'm trying to leave to check on my husband in the hospital. Absolutely ridiculous. Charged me as much as they possibly could, do not use them! Bob's Towing in Weimar is much better! read more

Traveling from Austin to Houston, my car started making an alarming noise. I went to Yelp to find a repair shop, found Ron's, called and explained my situation. The receptionist said 'Sure, we'll slip you in and get your car on the rack - come on in.' When I arrived it was obvious they were busy but, just as I had been told, they quickly made time, took me for a test drive, diagnosed the problem, provided a temporary fix to get me to a dealership in Houston, and sent me on my way - fast. DO NOT GO WITH HIM!! He will rip you off. I took my diesel truck to fix the turbo. He intentionally cut wires from the truck to cause a short circuit in the alternador. Honest people won't do that. It's very disappointing people who call themselves mechanics intentionally provoke problems and still get paid very good money. read more

My husband and I were 11 hours into our 12 hour moving trip when the tire on our U-haul truck blew out. We called the U-haul roadside assistance number and they dispatched Ron's to our rescue. Traveling across the country, we had a huge tire issue and were forced to pull over near Lagrange, Texas. Stranded in the summer heat, AAA sent Ron's to come rescue us and he was there in about 20 minutes. It was a Saturday night and AAA informed me that no one would be able to fix the van until Monday. Ron's fixed the tire and stayed open late just for us that night! We were back on the highway within the hour. Very nice people. I would definitely recommend Ron's. We had a break down in our RV. Once it sat for a bit we could drive a little further. Sat in the hot sun at International repair for over 3 hours then called Ron's. The service done to my car was great, but when I got it back they had left a bunch of trash on my dash and floor that I had to vacuum up.

I was transporting a Ford 800 series truck that broke down out in the middle of BFE and called up Ron's Auto Repair to tow it back to the shop and find out why this POS had died only a hop, skip and a jump away from where it had been repaired earlier that day at the ALG shop at Love's in Houston. My boss wound up playing phone tag with our customer and I had to call Steven three times because first we thought we were going to need him, and then not, and then it turned out we did (my boss was looking for ways to save money since he was only 50 miles away from my shut down point for the night). Steven came out, got the truck loaded on to the wrecker, was extremely patient and polite and got our truck back to the shop. He was even kind enough to take me to a Walmart and then a hotel in town and point me toward a good restaurant. The next day he sent someone to pick me up from the motel, allowed us to make a stop at the near by McDonalds, and then he and his crew fixed this old dinosaur of a truck. He was very friendly, patient in explaining things to me (who knows jack about mechanics, but wanted to learn), and has a great attitude! While waiting in the nice air conditioned building (it's around 100 degrees outside), I got on my netbook and used my iphone's hot spot internet connection to check my email. I say all this to also mention that they allowed me to print a document, and have a notary on site. They then faxed it for me. I wasn't charged for the notary or the fax, but gave the lady a $5 donation for handling what normally amounts to about $15 worth of services. All in all, this is a great shop with very friendly staff, and if I ever break down again in this area (not that I want to break down mind you) I would happily come here first. The service is A+ and I highly recommend Ron's Auto Repair! read more
