Ronin Dev knocked out a Slack integration for my cloud application that enables my TeamSync users to send commands to my cloud app through Slack. Great team, I'm generally reluctant to work with remote teams, but Sonny and his team were great. A few things stand out about our engagement. First, from a business perspective, they invested the time to understand my vision, my desired user experience, and what I wanted to do long-term with this integration. The team was able to take the business outcomes I needed and ensure that they were met in the integration. Second, the team was able to learn a new codebase in a fairly short amount of time. Understanding someone else's code and successfully adding value to the code in a day is hard to do. These guys were able to do that and learn a new technology and a new API. Lastly, these guys gave up their weekend to get the quick turnaround that I needed. After working with the team, I found that they are a young group of smart, hard-working guys that care about the quality of their work. My friend introduced me to Sonny from Ronin Dev knocked last year. He used their services and was very pleased with their work. I was just lucky to have any company to do my website because I wasn't sure what the entire process would be like. As a new website owner, I can honestly say that the process was at times confusing. I couldn't understand some of the things that they spoke of, or the things they expected me to do or to provide to help expedite the project. I just wanted a website! After nearly two months the project was completed. The website met my expectations both in terms of layout and functionality. I interviewed developers overseas as well as big firms here in the states and I felt like Ronin Dev was the most transparent with me throughout the process. The overseas developers had the cheapest price, but the language barrier prevented us from communicating efficiently. The professional firm felt too much like a sales pitch and we definitely couldn't afford their services. I'm glad I was able to connect with Sonny and his team through craigslist. They kept me informed throughout the process and I've already referred him a few clients as well. My website is now running a lot smoother. Hope their prices don't go up, but for the work they do unfortunately that's what I see happening. read more

Once it became clear that Sonny lacked the credentials and project mgmt skills to sufficiently perform the work that was contracted out, his level of professionalism fell way off. Don't be fooled by his sales skills and professionalism during the sales process, which are quite impressive and convincing. He did not deliver on expectations whatsoever after contract signage. For a project that was quoted as being completed in 6 weeks (350+ total dev hrs) and after only seeing about 10 hours of effort from him across 4 weeks, it was obvious expectations were not aligned. After trying to discuss and resolve the issues with him professionally, he made a poor attempt to resolve. Next, he stopped returning emails and phone calls, which lead to termination notice and refund request of my "good faith" deposit. I'm now having to work with my lawyer, fraud dept of bank, Better Business Bureau, and police to report his shady business practices and try to obtain a refund for unworked hours. BEWARE!! read more

Their newsletter helps me understand trends in the market and helped shape my fundraising approach for my web app. I was skeptical because of their website and their response (they said the website's a work in progress, we invest our time into our clients) but these guys deliver.
