However, if you need to make a change to your billing information associated with lessons or music rentals, it cannot be done online, only over the phone. When you call, expect at least a 30-minute wait for "customer service". I finally called the store, and they were able to correct my billing information for lessons but not the rental. Then I had to spend another 30 minutes trying to get the instrument rental billing fixed. I finally just paid off the instrument balance so I wouldn't have to deal with them again. Finally, the way lessons are handled is a complete scam. Prior to the acquisition, if you needed to cancel a lesson in advance, you were not charged. Now you are charged regardless of when you cancel. You can "make up" the lessons, but this is nearly impossible during the summer when multiple weeks of lessons are being missed. The teacher doesn't have the flexibility to do that many make-ups. In short, it is a total scam. We will be looking for a new lesson location.

I had not been to Dirt Cheep Music in over 30 years (no kidding!) and I had been keeping my eyes open for a small, solid state guitar amp that I could leave at a remote location for playing in case I got bored there. Lo and behold, I happened to be on S. Cobb so I whipped it in to DCM to see if they had something for me. Bingo! (Including band instruments and pro audio) They are happy to trade and we generally always work out a deal fair for both of us. And that's half the fun! The essentials like guitar strings, etc are always priced attractively. Most of the time similarly priced as Amazon or GC so you can grab them the same day and support a local family-owned business at the same time. If I need a suggestion their combined decades of experience as a family-owned business is always spot on. And unlike the corporate big box stores, every time you go in there you'll see the same crew. They'll know you by name, keep a list of things you're interested in and it's just a top notch experience.

I wanted to pick up a new harmonica and saw this store while shopping. I immediately had to look. I did get a new harmonica and a lot of information along the way. The selection really was incredible. The owner has everything. They sell new and refurbished equipment (guitars, drums, bass, banjos, harmonicas, sheet music, speakers, pics, stands, wah-wahs, keyboards, etc), accessories, music memorabilia, and they offer lessons in the back. I got to chatting with the owner (an amazing and interesting guy) and he showed me and my wife the back room of the store, more like his personal man cave/lounge/hangout. It was decked out with music and wrestling memorabilia. I came to find out he's also a wrestling fan (yippee) and he chatted awhile. The place is great, prices are good, selection is amazing, and the experience was worth the cost of the harmonica.
