She is thorough and thoughtful in her assessments and recommendations. She always presents a number of options and fully supports what you end up choosing. I went-in for a 30 check-up -- asked to get some basic blood work and a baseline cholesterol test since I had family risk factors and no previous test records. I was barely listened to for the whole appointment and then told there was no need for any tests. I pushed, hard, and finally got a cholesterol test. Turns out my triglycerides were in fact high. Thanks to the test results I was motivated to change my diet and shape-up a bit. After this experience, I really felt like I wasn't going to get what I needed out of seeing my Dr. so I just avoided going. Even after I found myself with a new problem that caused chronic pain, the thought of seeing Dr. Bowler seemed so unpleasant I avoided seeing a Dr. at all. Finally, I reached my discomfort threshold and called for an appointment. Dr. Bowler was unavailable so I saw someone else on the staff-- so much better! I felt like I was listened to and that my concerns were being addressed. I had almost given up on the whole medical group, just because of one bad apple. It's worth noting that for this location, both office and lab hours are kind of limited (no weekend availability, like I've seen at other One Medical locations.) This can be tricky since they don't take appointments for labs. That's just their operation, though, soooo... take it or leave it! The only real trouble with this location is that it's really hot. Like, really. I'm not sure if the AC is broken or what, but it's stuffy which is super uncomfortable when it's already 80 degrees out.

Today 2025 I take bp meds as needed although that's not what's recommended by most doctors these days. The alternative methods weren't really working for me. High bp runs in my family unfortunately.

Also, I was told I'd get the results on a Saturday, sure enough got a call, but was from a very confused Dr. Ahmad who asked me why he was calling me, then said he'd call back and hung up? I reached out Tuesday when I hadn't heard from him and after much back and forth the staff said he's call me the next day. He did call and report was abnormal. His explanation of what they found was very limited and without any detail on the severity etc. He told me he'd refer me to another specialist that I needed, asked for my email, then took 2 days to send a 1-line referral. The communication between the staff throughout the process was the worst, including resulting in me getting an EKG instead of an echo which the doc agreed was totally unnecessary.
