Honestly beware - you will wait forever. I came on vacation here from California and unfortunately…read moresprained my ankle my first day here. Whoops. I waited about three hours for them to see me. There were lots of frustrated people in that lobby let me tell you. I heard one guy say he had been waiting for six hours. I asked a few times about the wait and what would happen when the doctor finally saw me and got lots of conflicting answers. Luckily I saw a nurse who was pretty nice and gave me some first aid stuff to wrap my ankle, but I didn't wait around to see the doctor. Thankfully, my ankle feels a lot better!

His unprofessional behavior set dangerous precedents that compromise both patient care and medical integrity. Key Issues: - Breach of Professional Standards Dr. Douglas violated basic patient trust and ethical guidelines. - Intimidation Tactics: As a senior clinician, he repeatedly dismissed families' concerns and created a hostile environment. - Safety Protocol Violations: He disregarded proper medical procedures, putting patients at risk. - Falsified Documentation: Discharge papers contained incorrect information, erasing critical post-operative complications. Why This Matters: A doctor who intimidates families, ignores safety protocols, and falsifies records has no place in healthcare. I share this feedback to warn others--you deserve respectful, transparent care.

My son had to have grommets, adenoids & tonsils removed so he was really very nervous (he's 10) and they were just so caring and I felt so at ease knowing that this is what they do and my boy was in safe hands. So thank you team from the receptionist to our admissions nurse Karen, surgical team (Colin, Amanda and Christian and sorry I didn't catch the gentlemans name that came with Christian and also bought in the amazing tool that showed my boys veins lols) and finally to our aftercare nurse Carla. You all are amazing

Gillies Hospital is a Southern Cross Hospital meaning it is a private hospital. Over the years I've…read morebeen in a few hospitals for the insertion of a chest drain for a spontaneous pneumothorax to a tonsillectomy. I like the Gillies Hospital. The consult rooms with specialists are inviting and the waiting rooms are pleasant. Despite the nature of the practices, children have no issue in attending this hospital. The decor is modern and tidy. The furniture is clean and comfortable and there are tea and coffee making facilities around the consult rooms of the practices. My children had books to read and a play pen to while away the time spent waiting for your appointment. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant. It's definitely a place I would go back to and would recommend it to anybody. The only differing factor would be the specialist that you see. My sons specialist is a natural with children and really put my son at ease in the lead up to his operation. This ultimately put me and my wife at ease. Most importantly the operation was a success and the condition was treated without any complications. Great work.

Review: To begin this review, in order to bring fairness to…read moremy account, I wish to say that the staff at the reception desk were courteous. Unfortunately, that was the only positive I can state about my first visit to Medseek Waitākere Health Centre, which was also my first visit to a doctor in many years. The day was very hot, and the waiting area was uncomfortable with every window closed, so I had to open one myself just to get some air. What should have been a fairly routine appointment to obtain a Work Capacity Certificate in regards to my hearing disability quickly became stressful. Although not overtly rude, the doctor's manner felt brusque and he seemed more focused on his own agenda than listening to my concerns. Despite explaining that I have a hearing disability where clarity matters more than volume, he spoke loudly through a face mask he continuously wore, which made communication difficult. He tried to push me into having a test, which was not appropriate at the time, as I had made the appointment for a different reason. When I declined and tried to steer the conversation back to the reason I was there, he seemed put out and his demeanour deteriorated. Although I ultimately received the outcome I needed, the experience left me uncomfortable. Although I was happy with the reception in person, their follow-up to emails was shocking. Early on, they were responsive, but over time, especially regarding more important matters like confirming my registration and whether I was officially a client, there were long periods of no response. This continued with my most recent email outlining my concerns about the appointment, which I sent 10 days ago and still has not been answered, adding to my frustration. I think they lacked professionalism in following up on requests, and the doctor's attitude during the appointment, particularly in communicating with me, was poor, even though he ultimately provided what I had come for. Overall, I regret choosing Waitākere Health Centre. I was willing to take a chance because I had been referred to them, even when I saw that they had a low review score. I have been let down badly, and in all fairness, I cannot and will not recommend this clinic.

After staff found nothing wrong with her we were told to stay four hours as a standard measurement to see if anything worsened. After that staff put off discharging us and said that we would have to stay overnight. I now realised this was only to get us to stay until the morning for us to see the hospital social worker. The type of care we received within the 24 hours we were held here was nothing short of dissapointing and disgusting. Do better.
