Our experience with Ron Dishman Towing was extremely frustrating and disappointing. On December 23, our son--a college student living in Rolla--was involved in a car accident while driving home from work. Dishman Towing arrived and towed the vehicle before a AAA tow request could be completed. Our son was given no information about where the car was taken or how to contact the company. When we called the next morning, we were told they would not work with our son at all, even though he is the primary driver and lives locally. Only the registered owners could handle payment, and it had to be done in person--despite us living more than five hours away. Storage fees of $75 per calendar day were charged even while the office was closed for the holiday, leaving us no realistic way to retrieve the vehicle without accumulating more fees. Communication throughout the process was curt and dismissive, with no guidance, flexibility, or empathy offered during an already stressful situation. Another towing company ultimately had to relocate the vehicle, requiring a five-hour drive just to resolve the issue before closing. Rolla is a college town, and families expect basic professionalism and fairness from local businesses, especially during emergencies. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Terrible communication, zero compassion, and outrageous fees. They act like fee lords--your job interview, medical needs, or urgent ID access mean nothing to them unless their payment is secured. I tried to retrieve my ID from my grandfather's impounded car, and they refused access over a minor incident, even though I was calm and cooperative afterward. Staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to work with me--even when I offered supervised access or legal documentation. It's clear they care more about squeezing every dollar than treating people with basic respect. If you're dealing with this company, document everything and be ready to escalate. They don't just hold vehicles--they hold your life hostage behind a paywall. read more

Not sure how they ever got 1.9 review there dispatcher was very rude over the phone and I ended up sitting on the interstate for over 2 hours had to have Chris and Sons come out and assist me if you can call someone else do it and thank me later. This place was supposed to have done a "Recovery," their words. not just a "tow". So the cost was $775. They pulled my vehicle out without putting a jack under the front, so it fisheyeed my headlights. They were rude, wouldn't let me get anything from my vehicle. They held it all for ransom until the full amount, over $2000, was paid. They told me the vehicle couldn't be driven, which held us up from being able to get it out of impound. Which wasn't true. April 2 my daughter had an accident on I 44 they towed the car, 2 days when I was able to go up there to clean out my car, their not professional and when they find out that your far away, they rip you off, 2 days and they demanded 775.00 to even clean my car out, they demanded cash, their crooks!!! read more

Ron was awesome. We called for service after we were stranded in Rolla. He went above and beyond to help us. He was so kind and even led us to the place that ended up fixing the problem. It was late in the day and he didn't even have to help us at all. Nice to know there's still gentleman in the world. read more

Terrible service and rude office person. Ridiculous prices and will not let you retrieve your personal belongings unless you pay for impound first. My debit card was left in my vehicle due to a wreck my husband was in because he had a stroke behind the wheel. They over charged me a total of $700 just for the tow and to pull my vehicle out of the ditch. I had just had surgery and was out of work for a month. I did not give permission for it to be towed and it was drivable and did not need to be towed in the first place. My main focus was my husband's health and was told it was $50 per day on top of the $700. When I called to retrieve my belongings because I couldn't afford to get my vehicle out of impound I was told I was not allowed to get any of my belongings including my license plates until the bill was paid in full!!! Just like the other reviews, the lady is rude. Acts like you are bothering her, and she doesn't need your business. I tried to schedule a tow; but got 'we don't schedule tows'. So I called Tune's Service for the tow. read more

This establishment is a scam and the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with! My son was in an accident late on a Friday and his car was towed there, they had his car until Monday. I called at 10 am when they open and they told him he owed $650!!! This is price gouging!!! I understand paying a tow fee but this is not right!! They need to be investigated! My motorized scooter, which has an inexplicable amount of sentimental value to me, valued at around $200 was stolen and placed 200 yards from my residence. This company is then called by the police to tow it. I'm told by a woman there that $110 to get scooter back. Naturally I plead to have the price lowered because of the value of the scooter, the circumstances under which they picked the scooter up, and me being a dirt poor local student. Nope, woman doesn't care. Responds with "we don't negotiate prices." I plead some more. "No negotiations." In conclusion, if you want to work with a company that sticks by their business practices, go here. If you value even the slightest amount of common decency and compassion, then I implore you to take your business elsewhere. Hydroplaned my car into a ditch on a Friday night on I44 in the dark and rain at 8pm, after everything else is closed. Had no choice but to use the towing service that Highway Patrol partners with. They're closed on weekends too, so I also had no other choice but to leave the car there until Monday at 10 AM when they open. They charged us for holding the car Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. When it wasn't even there for 3 full days, they charged for 4. It was also less than a 5 mile tow, and after everything got charged ended up being $650. Just to get the car out. These people aren't professional or kind either. Should be put out of business for unethical treatment. They need to be investigated by someone and put out of business, or even in jail for price gouging. read more

NEED THEIR LICENSE PULLED!!! Dishman's was dispatched by AAA to change a flat tire on my son's car in a parking lot in town. The young man who showed up to do the job was bragging about how he's been doing it for two years. After he was done putting on the spare we drove just a little way down the road, but the car was shaking so bad that we had to pull over. We got out to check the tire and ALL OF THE LUGNUTS WERE LOOSE AND ABOUT TO FALL OFF!!! They weren't even finger tight! This is (lug)NUTS and I was livid that some "professional" tasked with something so simple (yet essential) could fail to do the most basic aspect of their job, which put my child and I in major danger. We could have been killed - we're so lucky that our tire didn't fly off and cause us to have a horrible wreck because of this extreme negligence. I called AAA and filed a complaint so I hope they stop using them... I intend to file a report with every agency possible to ensure that this incompetent company is held responsible so they don't hurt someone. 10/10. We blew out a tire on the 44 and a kindly passerby called Ron Dishman to tow our vehicle back to Plaza Tire in Rolla. Ron was there in under 20 mins and fixed us up right. The speed, convenience, and courtesy were unmatched. Would recommend Ron Dishman Towing as your first choice if you find yourself in need. Great guy, great company. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service skills by the front office worker. She went from polite to complete bat crap crazy in .2 seconds over me not understanding and questioning the reasoning of not letting me get personal belonging out of my car. Then she called the cops and completely put false words and actions on me that never even happened. Due to the complete rudeness, personality disorder and unprofessionalism from her, I did anything to get my car out of there for them not to collect any more money even though it was being paid for by the insurance of the lady that hit me. I highly recommend anyone else except this place. Emotions are high any time there is an accident or your vehicle is taken and this member of the staff does not know how to diffuse or alleviate stress at all. She only causes it. read more
