    More Wood Barrel Storage
    Claudio N.

We took an Uber to the Distillery in Bayamon to do an Heritage Tour $45 p/p about half an hour explaining all its history, the home where founder lived, original furniture, grounds, manufacturing, storage. It is a smaller distillery but the only original Puerto Rican brand, the tour offers 1 free bar drink p/p we had a coffee drink & of course an island original pina colada with excellent service thru out. At the end we went to the gift shop/store & brought back on flight a "Coquito", 2 real wood 4.25" tall bar cups & 1 three star Rum Superior Especial bottle

Ron del Barrilito is a must in PR! The guided tour was awesome -- we learned about the family's history, saw some of their oldest casks, and got a real feel for how their rum is made. The mixology class was the best part: three delicious cocktails, plenty of laughs, and a solid buzz by the end. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable, and clearly loved what they do. Everything about the experience felt authentic and memorable. Highly recommend!

This was such an amazing experience! The mixology instructor was super professional and knowledgeable. He made the class very fun! You make 3 drinks along with a tour of the factory. For reference we did the mixology/tour combo. The tour is quite impressive and it's not a long time. The staff here is so friendly! We arrived late due to traffic and missed the tour so they allowed us to come back the next day - so top tier service!! A drink is included in the price and the drinks are craft cocktails - more can be purchased for $14. The drinks are INCREDIBLE and the bartender is so friendly! The customer service is TOP TIER AND I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH! The snacks were very good - we had the hummus. This was the highlight of our trip!!

This was our first time doing a rum distillery and I'm happy that this was the first one we tried. This place was packed with family history and one of the oldest rum distillery in the area. The tour was in-depth and we even got to taste one of their oldest casks. Unfortunately we had to rush our experience here since I booked for one at Bacardi right after this one. I must say after Bacardi though, I much prefer coming back here again. The pina colada was superb here! It also has a much more intimate and cozy experience compared to the party scene we saw at Bacardi. Will definitely come back!

There is one place that people going to Puerto Rico should skip and one they should visit. Instead of throwing more money at a conglomerate like Bacardi, why not enjoy something authentic, real and truly local? The best thing about the distillery is that it's more than just a visit to the cellars. There is a beautiful house tour in which owners used to live. There is the beautiful story about how the founder used to walk around with a tiny barrel pouring rum for his guests. There is an old tower. And of course, a nice visitor center with a bar. With all that said, the rum is absolutely amazing. Balanced without being overly sweet. People are very kind. If coming here, make sure to try the 4 and 5 star, they pour it by the ounce and the experience of it is truly worth it.

I came here for a mixology class but we were late so we switched it to a rum tasting which was great. The tour was amazing first we started with a history of the rum and we walked the grounds. This included the house and the different area where the barrels were kept. The different types of barrel were explained as well. Then we went inside to taste the rum. The rum was quite delicious and I loved the tour. I definitely recommend it and the drinks at the bar are delicious. I am still thinking about that delicious coffee drink. The bartender is a genius. The guide was great, very informative and engaging. The space is beautiful and reminds me of an hacienda.

    Coquito

We enjoyed the mixology class and the tasty cocktails. The pina colada was yumi as well as the kiwi rum drink. We will go back again for the class. We also got to taste the coquito.

We did the mixology tour and our guide and bartender was so kind, knowledgeable and friendly. We had the best time. A welcome drink Is included with your reservation, the mixology class includes 3 drinks for you to make and try. The gift shop also gave a free bar mat but making a purchase. This place is beautiful, the rum Is tasty and you're supporting a local businesses. I'm so glad with did this tour instead of the Bacardi one.

We accidentally got double booked at Bacardi so we took a rideshare to this amazing gemstone of a Distillery. Our tour felt private as there was only two of us and our guide Timmy was the best. The mix drinks were absolutely amazing and the ambience was even better. If you want a true Puerto Rican rum with roots, culture and experience without all the Cruiseship people go HERE. It's the Pappy Van Winkle of Rum compared to the other guys.

One of the best excursions in the main central area. We originally were gonna do the Bacardi tour but seeing that we haven't had this rum before and wanted to learn how to make some drinks, we decided to book the mixology tour. It was so worth it! We made 3 drinks and got a token to get a drink at the bar. I was so tipsy by my 3rd drink I couldn't even get to go to the bar haha but now i have a new favorite rum to make drinks with

Came here for a mixology tour via Viator, and right off the bat, they hand you a token for a free drink. I went with the lavender concoction, which was nothing short of magical, while my partner stuck to the "old barrel" for that vintage vibe. We arrived early, snagged an outdoor seat, and even squeezed in a cigar like true cocktail connoisseurs. After a 30-minute tour of the premises, we dove into a mixology class where we crafted an Old Fashioned, a mind-blowing kiwi drink, and a piña colada that had us questioning our life choices--so good, I nearly couldn't finish it (i literally didn't cuz I didn't wanna die)! We wrapped up by splurging on some top-notch bottles, ranging from 3 to 5 stars. Seriously, if you think you've experienced touristy PR, you haven't seen anything yet!

Highly recommend the distillery tour and mixology class! This was a very fun group activity and learning experience. We each made 3 cocktails during the class and got 1 additional drink from the bar for free. Our guide/mixology instructor was fantastic!

We learned exactly how the rum is made, everything from the barrel origins and their whiskey distillery partnerships to the local fungi that grows around the aging facilities. It was also cool to find out they ship and bottle in Florida, and even generate their own electricity on-site. The tasting was the best part. It's wild how subtle additions like a coconut ice cube or a few coffee beans completely change the flavor profile of the rum. Great people, great drinks, and an awesome gift shop. We had perfect weather for it, too. I will definitely do this again.

We stopped on our way between the beach at Quebradillas and the airport, and were glad we did. The tour has changed in 16 years but the welcome was still warm and embracing. Everyone from the guard at the front gate to random workers were super helpful. We started in a pavilion waiting for outr tour to start. The cost of the tour gives you a token to a drink at the bar -- made with Bacardí of course. We decided to wait till after the tour for the drink. The tour was interesting. First a ride on a tram around the campus with Gabriela providing explanations, then we toured a museum which started with a short video followed by a walk through rooms with artifacts from the history of Bacaradí. The high point is an exact replica of the bar at the abandoned and collapsing Casa Bacardí in Havana. The tour by ended in the adjacent gift shop where you can buy Bacardí merch and special editions of rum. Then a walk back to the pavilion where my wife had a piña colada and I had daquirí. Lots of fun. If you have time, the Bacardí tour is well worth the time and the price of admission.

You'd get a text message reminder a day before the tour and they would ask if you have food restrictions or allergies. You'd also get a reminder where the meeting spot is. We met at Banco Popular, introduced ourselves and went our merry way to the 5 different food spots. Pablo ordered the food before hand so that when the group arrived at the different restaurants/places, the food was ready and we did not have to wait that long. Our first stop was Cafe Cuatro Sombras where we had coffee and croissant ham/provolone cheese/guava butter. I liked this croissant with a hint of tanginess/sweetness from the guava. Noncoffee drinkers had options of lemonade and tea. Second stop was Señor Paleta. There's no indoor seating here so we had the delicious parcha (passion fruit) popsicle. Yum! Very refreshing, great for this warm weather! Third stop was Cafe El Punto. This place has a lot of artwork by local artists. We had ceviche de pescado and alcapurrias de la casa which were nice. Fourth stop was El Patio de Sam where we "made" our own mofongo. We had fried plantains and garlic butter, mashed them in a mortar and pestle, and added the chicken before turning the mortar upside down to get the mofongo. This was flavorful and had more moisture compared to another mofongo we had. Last stop for dessert was Vaca Brava. We had flan which was nice. We enjoyed the food, the tour, and the conversations. As tour busing goes, the most important thing is the tour guide. It's his or her knowledge and expertise that you're really paying for. With Carlos of E & B Tours, I really lucked out. He was one of the best, most charming, friendly and knowledgeable tour guides ever, and a darn good tour van driver to boot. I took the E & B Tour of the El Yunque Rainforest located in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, and couldn't have been more delighted. I've visited plenty of rainforests and have even lived in one outside of Manaus, Brazil, for about 6 months and know that though they are all called rainforests, there are no two alike. Carlos seemed to have a knowledge of everything about El Yunque, the name and type of every plant, flower, animal, bird and even the medicinal, food uses or habitats of each. If on my own, even with my extensive knowledge of rainforests, I would have pretty much missed out on everything of importance and wouldn't have had a clue of what I was looking at.
