You can find Romtree by looking for the BIG cow out front. They're between the ABC Hotel and Hotel America. Inside seats 20 and they have a couple tables outside if you want to people watch.
Staff are sweet, helpful attentive and speak English well. There's free Wifi and a strong aircon. Owner is a Filipina married to an Aussie. She also owns Karlens milk, which delivers to many of the neighborhood businesses. They shop at SNR, get their coffee beans from Benguet, and make their own ice cream.
WE'VE TRIED:
-Aussie breakfast - sausage is soft and vinegary, toast bread is thick and fluffy YUM!, ham is on the sweet side and pork belly was chewy.
-Bangsilog - large portion of bangus belly It was a little too fishy and salty for me, hubby liked it more.
-Porksilog - chewy
-(Chicken) Cordon Bleu - nice crisp pinko breading, good flavor with the chicken and bacon; but the Filipino Eden cheese just ruined it. Next time, I'll ask them to leave it out.
-Iced mocha is made from their espresso - chocolatey and thick like a malted drink, had to dilute it with water
- Strawberry shake - was light for a shake, not too thick, I didn't mix in the strawberry drizzle because I don't like my drinks too sweet. Hubby said it reminded him of Strawberry Quick, it was ok.
-Chocolate crinkle (P20) warmed up was nice and soft, perfect pairing with a cup of coffee.
NEGATIVES - No hot sauce. Bathroom has no tp nor soap.
TIP - switch out the regular rice for garlic rice.
Small eatery with large portions at reasonable prices: a nice quiet place to chill for a bit. I want to come back and try more of their desserts (They sell cakes only by the slice). read more
