So, having moved to Piedmont a couple of months ago and without reliable transportation, a trip to…read moreAnniston is a rare thing for me. Moreover, a trip through the speed trap of Jacksonville is a tedious and gas-consuming prospect making such an excursion a $10 round-trip endeavor. Thus, going to Anniston is a thing I don't do much as I am underemployed. Every last dollar is budgeted, every last cent is precious. Driving to Noble Street is rare for me, but I was on a mission today to buy my boyfriend a gift for his birthday--the book he wanted from a shop on Noble that was closed as I pulled up. I had earmarked money for that purchase and a bit left over for another gift for him. So, I stepped into this store--"Old Noble." This decision was a bad one and the cashier's inability to gauge my poverty cost me dearly. I made a purchase I knew my boyfriend would like. The cashier announced that she had overcharged me. I told her it was fine but she stated she had processed my refund and I needed to tap my phone again. I failed to think through, believing that the charge would process back instantly--that is where everything went wrong. I am now out the $10 needed for gas plus almost $30 for making the same purchase twice. I do not have the money for the book I was to buy. I left the store angry because what are they going to do? The charge will process back when it processes back but now what will I do? How will I come up with the extra money needed to get back and when will that be? My partner's birthday Is in two days. I promised him the book and now I do not have it and can not buy it. Why? Because the cashier, instead of pausing and asking me and realizing that OVER HALF OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTY LIVE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE, made a bourgeoise decision based on her own privilege. She did not ask me, did not speak to me before making the charge back, did not think that maybe I am not her usual clientele and am not made of money, but acted to "save" me money and, in the process cost me more than I can afford and caused tremendous heartache In the process. This store is not for most of us. It is for the country club set of entitled elites. I can not afford this place as the price it charges is now paid in not just dollars but bitter disappointment.

Awesome selection of unique items for any occasion. Fantastic service! I am very thankful for this…read morebusiness being in our community!
